Hulk Hogan's Friend Jimmy Hart Denied Reports the WWE Star Was Sick Just 2 Days Before His Death

Hogan's close friend and longtime on-screen manager said he was in "phenomenal" health just two days before his death
Hulk Hogan's death on Thursday comes just two days after the professional wrestling icon's close friend tried to cool off rumors that he was ill.
Hogan died Thursday, July 24 at the age of 71, WWE confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE. The Clearwater Police Department said in a statement that officers responded to a 911 call for a cardiac arrest before Hogan was taken to a local hospital where he later was pronounced dead.Rumors spread last month that the WWE Hall of Famer had been hospitalized and was dangerously ill, leading media representatives to tell E! News there was 'no reasons to panic' over Hogan's death, despite reports he was 'on his deathbed.'
And just two days ago, Hogan's former on-screen manager and close friend Jimmy Hart took to social media to assure fans that Hogan was doing 'great' in light of the reports.
'Hulk is doing great, doing phenomenal!' Hart wrote about Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea. 'Last night at karaoke with Nick was absolutely fantastic, baby!!!'
The controversial WWE and WCW star also spoke out about his health during an appearance on Logan Paul's 'IMPAULSIVE' podcast last September, explaining that he's had roughly 25 surgeries over the last 10 years.
'I've had like 25 surgeries in the last ten years — 10 of them were back surgeries,' the 12-time world champion explained. 'I've had 10 back surgeries, both knees and both hips replaced, shoulders—everything.'
Hogan is arguably the most popular pro wrestler in the history of the business. A flawed hero, Hogan's reputation as wrestling ultimate "good guy" took a hit multiple times throughout his career, first lying about steroid use, then later being involved in a notorious sex-tape scandal and then having been exposed as using racist language.
Upon his return to WWE earlier this year, Hogan was loudly booed by the audience - marking his last appearance on television with the company where he was long the top star.
Hogan is survived by his wife Sky Daily and his ex-wives Linda Hogan and Jennifer McDaniel, as well as children Brooke and Nick Hogan.'WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away,' the pro wrestling company told PEOPLE. 'One of pop culture's most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan's family, friends, and fans.'

Fans Announce 'Boycott' Of ESPN Over Hulk Hogan Article

Fans Announce 'Boycott' Of ESPN Over Hulk Hogan Article originally appeared on The Spun. Fans have announced a "boycott" of ESPN over their story on Hulk Hogan's death. Hogan, the iconic wrestling star, died on Thursday. He was 71 years old. The legendary wrestler, perhaps the most important in the history of the sport, had a controversial life. The legendary wrestler was caught on video using the N-word 18 years ago. He ultimately apologized and was allowed back into the WWE. But to many fans, that was the final straw. ESPN posted an Andscape article on its homepage with the headline: "Professional wrestling star's career is no match for his racism." ESPN writer David Dennis Jr. wrote that Hogan's legacy was being a racist. "When you are a racist that is your legacy above all else," Dennis says. "Hulk Hogan died being known a racist who also became famous as a professional wrestler." Dennis Jr. didn't hold back. "Hulk Hogan admitted that he is a racist. He once told his son he was scared Karma would bring them back as Black men. When you are a racist that is your legacy above all else. It's not complicated. This is what I wrote," he wrote. Not everyone agrees, though. Some fans are now "boycotting" the story. "Hey jerkoff, a question for you… When Kobe Bryant died, did you post an article saying he should only be remembered as an adulterer, or for the homophobic slurs he used? Exactly.👍🏼," one fan wrote. "His good and positive impact on culture and society far outweighs the bad," one fan added. "EVERYONE'S legacy is complicated, including yours. What if we were all judged by the single worst thing we had ever done or said? The world would certainly look like a much different place. Be a little more introspective in your life and less judgmental," one fan added. "Posting this while HH's body was still warm tells us everything we need to know about you," one fan added. "No one is reading that," one fan added. What do you make of ESPN's controversial story on Hulk Hogan's death this week? Nick Hogan speaks out to honor ‘greatest dad in the world' days after Hulk's death

Hulk Hogan's only son Nick has honored the wrestling legend in a heartfelt tribute in his first remarks since his father's sudden death. Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, died last Thursday after suffering a cardiac arrest at the age of 71. He is survived by Nick, 35, and estranged daughter Brooke, 37, whom he shared with his first ex-wife, Linda. 'This has been overwhelming and extremely difficult,' Nick wrote on Instagram on Saturday alongside a carousel of images of him and his father throughout the years. The first image featured the pair in matching red and yellow shirts when Nick was a young boy. 'Hearing so many kind words and stories about my dad's life, interactions and experiences with everyone has been incredible and comforting,' he added. Remembering Hogan as the 'most incredible person I've ever known' and his forever 'hero,' he called him the 'most kind, loving and amazing father anybody could ask for.' 'I feel so blessed to have had the greatest dad in the world,' Nick wrote. 'He was not only the best dad but also my mentor and my best friend. He always has been my best friend and I love him and miss him more than I could ever explain.' Nick Hogan said he had thanked his father 'for everything he has ever done for me and told him how much I loved him and hugged him every chance I got.' 'I spent a lot of time with him the past few years after moving back to Florida to be closer to him and I am so grateful for those memories. They are the best moments in my life,' he added. He continued: 'I would do anything to have him back but I know now that he will always be watching over me. I will always remember the lessons and advice he gave me and carry on in a way that I know would make him proud.' Hogan thanked his father for being 'the best dad in the world' and his 'best friend.' 'I love you so much Big Dog and I will miss you forever,' he wrote. The family of four — Hogan, Linda, Brooke, and Nick — starred in a reality TV series, Hogan Knows Best, which aired from 2005 to 2007. During the filming of the series, Nick was a burgeoning motorsports racer. But his career was cut short after he was involved in a devastating car crash in 2007. He was accused of driving under the influence of alcohol and spent several months in a Florida county jail. He remained close to his father over the years, even celebrating Hogan on Father's Day last month. 'Had a great Father's Day with the goat! Happy Father's Day to all the awesome dads!' he wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of himself as a child flexing with his father. Brooke, on the other hand, had experienced a falling out with both of her parents, revealing in March that she had 'completely separate reasons for going no contact' with both of them. 'I have been EXTREMELY verbally and mentally abused since childhood,' Brooke claimed on Instagram. 'Sadly, it would frequently turn physical. And sometimes it's not by the person you would assume, abuse comes in all shapes and sizes.' Linda vehemently denied Brooke's accusations, calling her daughter 'a narcissist just like her dad.' Meanwhile, Hogan said he had no idea why Brooke no longer spoke to him.
