2025 Mercedes-AMG GT63 Pro Launches with a Steep Price Tagmerced
Following high praise from Suhaib Shashaa, who called it the finest AMG GT to date after testing it on the circuit, the highly anticipated 2025 Mercedes-AMG GT63 Pro now has an official global price—and it's not cheap.
Premium Pricing for Peak Performance
Set to make its debut later this year, the new AMG GT63 Pro enters the market with a starting price of $197,050, inclusive of a $1,150 destination fee. That places it nearly $17,000 above the standard GT63 model. However, this price bump is backed by a comprehensive suite of enhancements that push the coupe's capabilities deeper into track-focused territory.
Among the performance upgrades are refined aerodynamics and an improved cooling setup. As standard, the Pro model includes an active cooling system tailored for the AMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel-drive system, differential fluid cooling, AMG Active Driveline Control, and carbon-ceramic braking hardware—all of which serve to elevate the car's endurance and responsiveness on demanding tracks.
Powertrain and Performance Specs
At its core, the GT63 Pro is driven by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 603 horsepower (612 PS) and 850 Nm of torque—an increase of 26 hp and 50 Nm over the base version.
These numbers translate into blistering performance. The coupe rockets from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.2 seconds, hits 200 km/h (124 mph) in 10.9 seconds, and achieves a top speed of 317 km/h (197 mph). With all fluids onboard, the car weighs in at 1,950 kg (approximately 3,300 pounds) and features a well-balanced weight distribution of 54% at the front and 46% at the rear.
Standard and Optional Features
Mercedes-AMG equips the GT63 Pro with several complimentary performance and convenience upgrades. Buyers receive Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R Extreme tires, a front axle lift system, and two foldable rear seats at no additional cost.
Optional features include a premium Burmester sound system, a comprehensive driver assistance suite, an AMG Performance steering wheel wrapped in leather and carbon fiber, and a fixed panoramic glass roof. These enhancements further refine the driving experience while offering greater luxury and personalization.
For those who appreciate exclusivity, the GT63 Pro is available in the striking Manufaktur Green Hell Mango exterior paint—a color that gained legendary status with the 2016 AMG GT R. Standard 21-inch matte gray wheels complete the aggressive look, with black or gold finishes offered as alternatives.
With its blend of cutting-edge performance, aerodynamic finesse, and luxurious detail, the 2025 Mercedes-AMG GT63 Pro stands ready to redefine expectations in the high-performance coupe segment.

Max Verstappen Off The Pace With 'Undriveable' Car In Qualifying For Red Bull Home Race
Max Verstappen felt his Red Bull car was undriveable as he found himself off the pace at his Formula 1 team's home race. A lack of grip and an unfortunately timed yellow flag both played a role as Verstappen placed seventh in qualifying at the Red Bull Ring, where he's won five times, to further dent his hopes of defending the F1 title. A frustrating day for Verstappen and the wider Red Bull team came amid widespread speculation over his future after Mercedes driver George Russell indicated on Thursday he believed Verstappen was in talks about a move. 'The car is completely undriveable. I have no grip,' Verstappen told the team over the radio part way through Saturday qualifying. Things got worse later on as he had to back off his final lap of the session because of a yellow flag. Speaking to British broadcaster Sky Sports after the session, Verstappen indicated he believed his car was miles off pole, set by McLaren's Lando Norris, even without the yellow flag. 'Hopefully tomorrow we can at least be competitive with Ferrari or Mercedes,' Verstappen said. 'I don't know, even because with the balance we had in quali that's for sure not going to look great for tomorrow, but we will analyze everything.' Verstappen's teammate Yuki Tsunoda was even less competitive as he qualified 18th and complained he, too, was lacking grip. Norris said he and McLaren expected Red Bull to be quicker here this weekend after both teams brought upgraded parts to Austria, but said he wouldn't write off Verstappen. Piastri leads Norris by 22 points in the standings, with Verstappen third, 21 points further back. 'Max has been our main contender for every race this season,' Norris said. 'Just because he's had a slightly worse qualifying today, definitely not going to count him out of the race tomorrow and definitely not going to count him out for the rest of the season.'

Max Verstappen heads into Red Bull's home race with upgrades and growing uncertainty
Max Verstappen at the Red Bull Ring is usually a recipe for success. The defending Formula 1 champion has an upgraded car for his team's home race in Austria–where he's won five times–on the back of an encouraging second place in Canada where his two McLaren rivals collided. Zoom out though, and the situation is much more uncertain. Verstappen remains at risk of a one-race ban for too many penalty points. Red Bull teammate Yuki Tsunoda is usually too far adrift to help him, and Verstappen's own future is far from clear. 'I don't think we need to talk about that,' Verstappen said Thursday when asked to confirm whether he'll stay with the team for 2026. 'It's not really in my mind. It's just driving and trying to push the performance, you know. And then we focus on next year.' What are Verstappen's options? Verstappen has a long-term contract through 2028, so in theory his Red Bull seat should be one of the safest on the grid. However, the deal has performance-related clauses which could reportedly allow a move. In that case, the most obvious option could be Mercedes, which has yet to confirm either driver for 2026. That would mean Verstappen teaming up with an old foe in Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff, who'd also have to choose to drop either George Russell and Kimi Antonelli. Dramatic changes to how F1 cars look and perform are coming in 2026, and Red Bull has to adapt more than most. For the first time in nearly two decades, it heads into a new era of F1 rules without design guru Adrian Newey, who left last year and is now at Aston Martin. The other leading teams are sticking with their current engine arrangements, but not Red Bull. The team has an in-house engine developer, Red Bull Powertrains, but it's switching partners for 2026 from Honda to newcomer Ford. The second seat. No team in F1 depends as much on one driver as Red Bull does on Verstappen. He's scored 155 of the team's 162 points this season. His teammates–first Liam Lawson, then Yuki Tsunoda–have struggled all season. That's helped to restore the reputation of Sergio Perez, who was dropped by Red Bull after scoring barely one-third of Verstappen's points last season. 'I know deep down they really regret it,' Perez said on a podcast this week. 'And I know that from a very reliable source. It's tough. I have very good friends there and people might think I take pleasure in what happened, but no.' Red Bull's car seems to favor Verstappen's driving style over anyone else's, but the Dutch driver says he can't diagnose the issue because he's been with the team since 2016 and has nothing else to compare it with. 'The thing is that I don't know any better, right?' he said Thursday. 'I mean, I've basically started with Red Bull, so I only know one car and that's how I drive. I adapt to it. Is it the best? Is it the fastest? Is it not? I don't know.'

Russell Suggests Mercedes Are Still After Verstappen
George Russell has suggested his contract renewal talks with Mercedes are being held up because the team are still keen to sign Formula One champion Max Verstappen. The 27-year-old Briton, winner in Canada two weeks ago, is out of contract at the end of the season while four-times champion Verstappen has a deal with Red Bull until 2028, subject to get-out clauses. Russell told Sky Sports television at the Austrian Grand Prix that Mercedes, constructors' champions eight years in a row from 2014-2021 and currently second to McLaren, wanted to return to the top. "If you're going to be back on top, you need to make sure you've got the best drivers, the best engineers, the best pit crew, and that's what Mercedes are chasing," he said. "So, it's only normal that conversations with the likes of Verstappen are ongoing. But from my side, if I'm performing as I'm doing, what have I got to be concerned about? There are two seats in every Formula One team." Mercedes boss Toto Wolff made his interest in Verstappen clear last year as he sought a replacement for seven-times champion Lewis Hamilton. In the end 18-year-old Italian rookie Kimi Antonelli was handed the opportunity and has been setting a string of age records, drawing strong support from fans. Verstappen and Russell have had a series of headline clashes on and off the track over the past 12 months, with Mercedes likely to have concerns about pairing them together should the opportunity arise. Russell told reporters separately that team boss Toto Wolff has assured him he was performing as well as anybody on the starting grid. "I think there's only one driver that you can debate in terms of performance -- these are his words, these are not my words -- so that's why I have no concern about the future," he said. "But there's two seats at every team and I guess he needs to think, who are those two drivers going to be for those two seats, and I guess that's what the delay is." Verstappen, appearing in the main FIA press conference, was reluctant to talk about his future when asked if he would be driving for Red Bull next year. "Do you want me to repeat what I said last year?... it's not really on my mind. Just driving well, trying to push the performance, and then we focus on next year."
