Realme C71 surfaces in benchmark and certifications
Realme is working on the low-end C71 to succeed the C61 launched last summer. The C71 has been spotted in the Geekbench online database with the model number RMX5303. It's powered by the Unisoc T7250 SoC, formerly known as the Unisoc T615.
This is a 4G-only chip, so don't expect the C71 to bring 5G to the table. Then again, the C61 didn't have it either. The C71 has 6GB of RAM, which its predecessor also offered. It will run Android 15 when it launches, with Realme UI on top.
The C71 has also been certified for sale in Malaysia by SIRIM, which confirms its aforementioned model number. A previous certification revealed its 45W wired charging support.
Unfortunately, no other specs are known at this time. Overall, we expect it to be a minor upgrade over the C61 while playing in the same pricing ballpark. We'll let you know when we find out more about it. Realme C61

Deals: Poco F7 debuts with a price cut, Galaxy S25 Edge also discounted
The Poco F7 launched earlier this week and it comes with a discount right out of the gate. But how does it compare against the other F7 models? The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has also gotten a price cut. The Poco F7 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and a large 6,500mAh battery. The chipset comes very close to the performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 inside the F7 Pro, though the phone can heat up to unpleasant levels during long gaming sessions. 90W wired-only charging is supported. The Poco F7 Pro is £80 more than the vanilla model. It has a smaller display (6.67' vs. 6.83'), but it is sharper (1440p+ vs. 1280p+). The battery is smaller too at 6,000mAh. Both phones have metal frames and IP68 ratings. While the 50+8MP camera setups look the same at first glance, note that the Pro has a larger sensor in the main (1/1.55' vs. 1/1.95') and can record 8K video (both can do 4K @ 60fps, though, which is more important). It's not just the chipset, this model also has a telephoto camera (50MP 1/2.76' sensor, 2.5x/60mm f/2.0 lens with OIS) and a higher resolution 32MP ultra-wide. Going back to the vanilla F7, the Poco X7 Pro is a cheaper alternative at £80 less. It has a smaller 6.67' display and a smaller 6,000mAh battery (90W charging). It's rated IP68/IP69, however, the frame is plastic. The Dimensity 8400 Ultra chipset comes pretty close to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, even in graphics tests. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge was quite pricey at launch, but the good news for people who want slim and light phones is that the price is already falling. You can pick up a 512GB model for £1,100 and you can subtract £100 from that if you have a Prime or Prime Student subscription. Or you can just buy a Samsung Galaxy S25+. If you care about the camera, you really should be looking at the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra – it's £100 more expensive if you want 512GB storage. The Ultra is a lot heavier (218g vs. 163g), but it has two more telephoto cameras than the Edge (which has none). Two Apple Watch models are reportedly about to get major upgrades — and one is long overdue

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, both products are expected to launch later this year, bringing some much-needed changes to the lineup. The most significant update is coming to the Apple Watch Ultra 3. Gurman first reported at the end of last year that this model could introduce satellite messaging, allowing users to send short messages even when they don't have access to cellular or Wi-Fi networks. If this feature arrives as expected, it would mark a major step toward making the Ultra a more independent device — especially useful for hikers, athletes, or anyone spending time off the grid. So far, the Apple Watch Ultra has seen only small changes since it launched in 2022. A new chip was added in 2023, and a black titanium option became available last year. A bigger feature like satellite connectivity would help justify an upgrade for current Ultra owners and give Apple something new to highlight in its fall lineup. At the same time, Apple is planning to refresh the Apple Watch SE. This is the company's entry-level model, aimed at people who want a smartwatch but don't need all the advanced features found in the Ultra or Series models. The current SE hasn't been updated since 2022, so a refresh is overdue. While details are still limited, we could see improvements like a faster chip, better battery life, or small design tweaks. The wearables, home, and accessories division saw a 7% drop in revenue last fiscal year. The Apple Watch alone fell more than 14% and could decline again this year. If satellite messaging does arrive, Apple would be among the first to offer such a feature in a consumer-grade smartwatch. While Garmin offers emergency satellite capabilities in some of its outdoor-focused wearables, the feature is not widespread across mainstream smartwatches. This could give Apple a competitive edge, especially among adventure and fitness enthusiasts who value reliable off-grid communication. It's encouraging to see Apple may be giving more attention to its smartwatch lineup, especially after a few years of minimal changes. A more capable Ultra model with satellite connectivity could open up new use cases, and a refreshed SE might attract more first-time smartwatch buyers. If executed well, these updates could help Apple regain some of the momentum it's lost in the wearables space. Still, the real test will be whether these new features translate into real-world value for everyday users — and whether Apple can balance innovation with the kind of reliability and polish that its customers expect. Ai+ will launch its smartphones on July 8
We've been aware of the new Ai+ smartphone brand for some time now. It is part of NxtQuantum Shift Technologies, led by Realme India's former CEO, Madhav Sheth. All of its products, at least the ones being teased for now, are designed and built in India and will be exclusively sold through Flipkart. The fog of mystery is slowly lifting from the upcoming device lineup, and thanks to a few posts on the company's official Twitter, a Flipkart page and an insider leak, we now have the clearest picture yet. Apparently, the initial launch is scheduled to take place on July 8 in India, as previously expected. The Flipkart exclusive partnership hasn't changed, and neither has the suggested starting price of just INR 5000 ($59/€50). Allegedly, that price was supposed to be for the so-called AI+ Nova 2 5G, which was exclusively leaked to us a while back. Ai+ posts Why Nova 2? Well. We aren't quite sure, frankly, nor is the name set in stone as far as the earlier leak goes, but the new sources only mention an Ai+ Nova 5G moniker instead. Apparently, it will be based on the Unisoc T8200 (6nm) chipset, have a 50MP main camera, expandable storage and a 5,000 mAh battery. Then there is the Ai+ Pulse 4G. According to new sources, it will be a 4G device, featuring the Unisoc T7250 (12nm) chipset and the same 50MP main camera, expandable storage, and 5,000 mAh battery as its Nova 5G sibling. This makes us think that the 4G-only Pulse will probably be the cheapest of the bunch, starting at just INR 5000 and not the Nova 5G, but we'll have to wait and see. The brand also boasts that it will utilize a significant amount of reclaimed and recycled materials. The brand previously confirmed that AI+ smartphones will run NxtQuantum OS, which, it says, "has been uniquely designed by Indian engineers, offering a user-friendly interface optimized for the Indian market." Additionally, AI+ stated that the NxtQuantum OS, running on its smartphones, is "auditable, policy-aligned, and governed by Indian law." The brand also claimed that "all user data is stored within India on MeitY-approved servers hosted by Google Cloud." The brand is also expected to launch a smartwatch with built-in TWS earphones. An image of the smartwatch's retail box, which we exclusively shared earlier this month, revealed that it would be called "wearbuds Watch 3."
