Bhumi Pednekar Speaks Up On Cosmetic Surgery Speculation: ‘To Each Their Own'

News182 days ago
Bhumi Pednekar addresses cosmetic surgery rumours, advocating choice and shutting down trolling with wit and grace.
In an era dominated by filters, fillers, and fierce online commentary, discussions around cosmetic enhancements in showbiz are louder than ever. With social media scrutiny at an all-time high, celebrities often find themselves navigating speculation, praise, and criticism, sometimes all at once. One of the latest stars to address this ongoing chatter is Bhumi Pednekar.
At a recent media interaction in New Delhi, the actress responded to questions about whether she had undergone any cosmetic procedures. Her answer was measured, thoughtful, and rooted in body autonomy.
'I genuinely believe everyone has the right to choose for themselves. Who am I to judge what someone wants to do with their own body?" Bhumi told News18 Showsha. 'And honestly, I think there's too much noise around this topic. This is just who I am, it's how I've always been."
This isn't the first time the Badhaai Do actor has addressed commentary on her appearance. In a previous interview with film critic Anupama Chopra, Bhumi opened up about being trolled for having 'big lips" a feature she proudly owns.
'Someone once told me my lips are too big," she recalled with a laugh. 'I was like, since when is that a problem? Aren't people literally paying lakhs to get lips like these? People can say the most bizarre things. The key is to know who you are and not let it affect you."
The trolling hasn't been limited to her alone. Bhumi and her sister, Samiksha Pednekar, once faced criticism after sharing a fun video together. The sisters' resemblance led to netizens insinuating that they had both gone under the knife. Samiksha, in a witty comeback, replied, 'Or same parents? Maybe?"
Just days before the recent media exchange, Bhumi turned heads as the showstopper at India Couture Week 2025 on July 27. She walked the runway for designer Ritu Kumar in a shimmering golden lehenga that perfectly blended vintage elegance with contemporary flair.
On the professional front, Bhumi was last seen in the period drama The Royals, where she starred opposite Ishaan Khatter.
Whether it's on the ramp or in front of the mic, Bhumi Pednekar continues to hold her ground with grace, confidence, and a voice that cuts through the noise.

If her name doesn't ring a bell, then let us tell you that she was a child artist who appeared in several serials. Roshni Walia finished her schooling at Ryan International School in Dumas, Surat. She began her career with ad commercials. The 23-year-old made her television debut with the 2012 series Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki, which aired on Life Ok. Roshni essayed the character of Jiyana in the show. In the same year, the actress featured in the children's comedy drama, My Friend Ganesha 4. Roshni Walia's Television Roles Before working with big stars in Son of Sardaar 2, Roshni Walia impressed viewers with her versatile small-screen roles. She essayed the character of Maitri in the horror thriller Khauff Begins… Ringa Ringa Roses (2013) and Ganga Singh in Balika Vadhu (2008). 71st National Film Awards: Shah Rukh Khan And Vikrant Massey Share Best Actor Honour For Jawan And 12th Fail

71st National Film Awards: Shah Rukh Khan and Vikrant Massey win Best Actor at the 71st National Film Awards for Jawan and 12th Fail. A proud moment for Bollywood in 2023. The 71st National Film Awards for the year 2023 were officially announced on August 1, celebrating the finest talents in Indian cinema. Among the top honours, Shah Rukh Khan and Vikrant Massey were jointly awarded the prestigious Best Actor award for their standout performances in Jawan and 12th Fail, respectively—two films that not only ruled the box office but also struck a chord with audiences and critics alike. Jawan, directed by Atlee, featured Shah Rukh Khan in a gripping dual role and emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of 2023. The action-thriller portrayed Khan as Azad, a jailer-turned-vigilante who leads a band of fierce women inmates on a mission to expose systemic corruption and deliver justice. With themes ranging from farmer distress to arms dealing and government negligence, Jawan merged mass appeal with meaningful social commentary. Khan's intense performance—blending charisma, emotional depth, and raw power—left a lasting impact, earning him well-deserved national recognition. Vikrant Massey Shines in 12th Fail Equally compelling was Vikrant Massey's portrayal of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma in 12th Fail, a film directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and based on Anurag Pathak's bestselling novel. Massey brought to life the story of a young man who overcomes the stigma of academic failure and rises through sheer resilience to crack the UPSC exam. His performance—grounded, heartfelt, and deeply human—struck a chord with viewers across the country, especially students and aspirants preparing for competitive exams. Released in October 2023, 12th Fail was lauded for its realism, emotional gravitas, and inspirational storytelling. It offered not just an individual triumph but a larger meditation on grit, integrity, and the quiet power of second chances. In an earlier conversation with News18 Showsha, Massey had candidly shared that winning a National Award was a dream he nurtured since childhood. 'I've always aspired for one. I've prayed for one when I was that young kid wanting to become an actor… to be presented with an award by the President of the country—that's the greatest achievement an actor in India can have," he had said, adding, 'I hope the film wins an award. I hope Vidhu Vinod Chopra wins an award. I hope I win an award." What's Next for the Winners Fresh off this landmark recognition, Vikrant Massey is set to portray spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in White, his next big project. He also recently starred alongside Shanaya Kapoor in Aankhon Ki Gustaakiyan. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan will soon be seen in King, a much-anticipated action film where he will reportedly share screen space with his daughter Suhana Khan. Although details remain under wraps, the film is already generating buzz. Both actors, through Jawan and 12th Fail, have not only delivered career-defining performances but have also reminded audiences why authentic storytelling and layered characters continue to be the soul of Indian cinema.
