Summary
OnePlusis shaking up theAndroidtablet market with its latest release, the OnePlus Pad 3, a highly capable device with a large, bright display and specs that – on paper – should please the most demanding users.
Powered by Qualcomm'sSnapdragon8 Elite Mobile Platform – a beast of a chipset that rival'sApple'slatest silicon for performance – the new OnePlus Pad 3 features a large 13.2-inch display, crystal clear 3.4K resolution and an unusual 7:5 aspect ratio. It also has 12-bit colour depth and high pixel density of 315 PPI, making it suitable for both productivity work as well as media playback, and its uncommon aspect ratio provides an nice alternative to the 16:10 displays you'll find onSamsung'sflagship tablets – arguably the only other Android tablets of this size and spec that can compete with the new OnePlus models.
When it comes to memory, the brand is offering it latest device in two options with the choice of a 12GB RAM / 256GB model, or a slightly the more improved 16GB RAM / 512GB version – with both configurations able to make the most of the Snapdragon 8 Elite's power. The OnePlus Pad 3 has been designed to handle CPU and GPU heavy usage – from running 'triple A' games to multiple productivity apps simultaneously – and includes a powerful cooling system that with vapor chambers made from a graphene composite material, helping to keep the device running for longer periods with ease. Additionally, the tablet has a huge 12,140 mAh battery – larger than both Samsung and Apple's flagship tablets – that it says can last for up to 17 hours with constant video playback. The battery is so large that OnePlus claims the OnePlus Pad 3 can 'stay on standby for 70 days' as well as 'hold its charge for more than two full years if switched off.'
Alongside its new tablet, OnePlus has launched various accessories. These include an updated OnePlus Pad keyboard that is larger than its predecessor and includes several new keys, including – you guessed it – a dedicatedAIbutton. The OnePlus Pad 3 keyboard connects magnetically and can be tilted between 110° and 165° angles, allowing users to work comfortably in any situation. The brand has also released a new stylus, the OnePlus Stylo 2, which is says 'recognises every single one of its 16,000 different levels of pressure' and comes with various different gestures. Additionally, OnePlus has launched a new, lightweight tri-folding folio case that offers several viewing angles and features a magnetic buckle that the OnePlus Stylo 2 can be attached to.
Finally, the new tri-folding design of the OnePlus Pad 3 folio case means it's as stable as a mountain at any angle. Fold the case up into a traditional triangle for a super steady 20 degree angle, perfect for drawing, writing or taking notes. Move to the new triangular folded design and OnePlus Pad 3 adopts a 44 degree angle, allowing for inclined viewing when looked at head on. And for even higher angles, fold the case into its Y shape for 60 and 72 degree viewing angles for even clearer reading. Whichever angle users pick, they're guaranteed easy use and easy access. And when they're done, just close the case and OnePlus Pad 3 will automatically switch off. Finally, the new magnetic buckle also means the case protects OnePlus Stylo 2, helping to avoid any awkward moments rooting around in a bag.
Celina Shi of OnePlus said the company's latest tablet combines 'blazing fast hardware, a vibrant display [and] ultra-portability,' adding boldly thatOnePlus Pad 3'redefines the Android tablet industry.'

US lawmakers call for federal probe into OnePlus

Joe Maring / Android Authority TL;DR Two US lawmakers have asked the Commerce Department to investigate OnePlus phones for potential security risks. Their concern is based on an analysis shared by an unnamed firm suggesting that OnePlus may be collecting and sending sensitive user data to servers in China without user consent. US lawmakers have reportedly requested the Commerce Department to investigate whether OnePlus phones sold in the country pose security risks. The request reportedly comes from Representative John Moolenaar, a Republican who chairs the House Committee on China, and the committee's top Democrat, Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi. Their letter to the Commerce Department, seen by Reuters, raises concerns over the potential collection and transmission of user data by OnePlus phones sold in the US. The lawmakers noted that OnePlus handsets are widely available through major retailers such as Best Buy and Amazon, and operate on US wireless networks including T-Mobile and Verizon. According to the letter, an analysis provided by a commercial firm to the committee suggests that OnePlus devices may collect and send extensive user data, including sensitive personal information and screenshots, to servers in China without the explicit consent of users. They have asked the Commerce Department to assign its Information and Communications Technology and Services program to investigate the matter, focusing on the data OnePlus devices collect from users in the US and whether sensitive information is transferred without user consent. As you may already know, the US government views data transfers from American devices to Chinese servers as a serious national security threat. In April 2025, the Department of Justice introduced strict rules restricting certain data transactions with China and other 'countries of concern.' OnePlus has yet to comment on the investigation, but we will be reaching out to the company for a response. Got a tip? Talk to us! Email our staff at Email our staff at news@ . Edge or Ultra? Samsung's latest premium Galaxy phones are both AU$400 off for EOFY — but today only

If you've been holding out for a good deal before picking up a new Samsung flagship device, you should know that time is running out to take advantage of the EOFY sales. In fact, today is your last chance to score an epic discount before the start of the new financial year. So if you're looking to grab a new phone and still claim it as a tax deduction for the current financial year, now's the time to make a decision. Right now, both the Galaxy S25 Ultra and the Galaxy S25 Edge have hit their lowest prices to date, with massive savings of up to AU$452 on the table for EOFY. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is the best phone of 2025 so far, and you can pick up the 256GB model right now for a cool AU$2,149 AU$1,697 on Amazon. Alternatively, the 512GB model has been reduced by AU$424, now only AU$2,349 AU$1,925. If I didn't already have this phone, I would snatch this deal up in a heartbeat. It tops our list of the best phones in Australia for 2025, and now you can pick up the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra at its lowest price ever thanks to this amazing deal from Amazon. Score the 256GB model in any colour option at a massive AU$452 discount right. Alternatively, you could opt to buy it in one of its exclusive colours direct from Samsung for AU$1,749. Or how about the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, which only released at the end of May this year? You can now snag the 256GB model for an impressive AU$1,849 AU$1,449, while the 512GB model has also had its price slashed, now only AU$2,049 AU$1,649. That's a saving of AU$400 for a phone that's only a month old! Talk about an incredibly attractive proposition for early adopters. Samsung's wafer-thin Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone has received an epic AU$400 discount in all storage sizes, just weeks out from release. Right now at Amazon, both the Titanium Black and Titanium Silver models are reduced, though you can get these colours or the Titanium Icyblue variant for the same price if you buy directly from the Samsung online store. If you're after the best smartphone experience, my advice is to look no further than the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It not only boasts the immensely powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, it also sports Samsung's most advanced smartphone camera system to date, featuring a 200MP main sensor, a new 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 10MP telephoto lens. Additionally, it offers the latest Galaxy AI features and a convenient built-in S Pen for seamless note-taking. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 Edge shares the same powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and 200MP main camera as the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but distinguishes itself with an incredibly sleek new frame, measuring a mere 5.8mm in thickness. However, it does come with a couple of drawbacks: the rest of its camera array isn't as capable as the Ultra's, and it also lacks S Pen support. Regardless of which phone you prefer, there's no denying that these are exceptionally good deals. You'll have to act fast, though, as these deals are unlikely to still be around tomorrow.

This Handy Device Can Clean Your Phone

Bad news: Your phone screen is pretty gross. According to previous HuffPost reporting, phones can carry thousands of germs, even more than most toilet seats, and if you're putting those germs next to your face all the time, experts say it can even exacerbate acne, rosacea or other pre-existing skin conditions. So how can you make sure you're getting rid of that bacteria? Enter: PhoneSoap, a nifty little device that uses UV-C light to sanitize your device and kill bacteria and viruses. Former HuffPost editor Danielle Gonzalez reviewed an older model of the PhoneSoap back in 2020, and confirmed with Dr. Charles Gerba, a microbiologist and professor at the University of Arizona, that UV light does work well to kill germs and sanitize your phone. This third-generation model of the PhoneSoap has garnered 4.5 stars across over 15,000 ratings on Amazon. Available in six colors, the device is like a case for your phone that provides 360-degree disinfection in 10 minutes. The light from the UV-C bulb bounces off the reflective interior to hit every spot on your phone. The PhoneSoap's interior dimensions are 6.8 by 3.74 by 0.78 inches, able to fit larger iPhone and Android models — just make sure to check the specs for your specific device. But that's not all; just because it's called PhoneSoap doesn't mean you can only use it for your phone. Germs collect on a bunch of high-contact surfaces like your headphones, jewelry, keys, credit cards and so much more. Depending on the size of your personal items, you can use the PhoneSoap to sanitize basically anything that fits. But the PhoneSoap is still useful, as one reviewer points out: 'The UV light does the trick and sanitizes my phone. Second, every time I stick in ― which I do every day or so, whenever my phone needs charging, as the device charges my phone as well as sanitizes ― It reminds me to wipe the face of my phone down and remove all the oil and bacteria that accumulates each day. It's like having a new phone every day.' Other reviewers also mention that using chemical cleaners on their phones adversely affected their skin, making the PhoneSoap a great alternative. Below, check out more promising reviews for the usefulness of the PhoneSoap and the peace of mind it can provide, or just go ahead and add it to your cart. Your skin will thank you. Get it from Amazon for $51.95+ (available in seven colors).
