After firing coach and caddie, Joaquin Niemann runs away with 2025 LIV Golf UK title
Niemann won for the fifth time in 2025, running away with the title at LIV Golf UK at JCB Golf and Country Club. He finished at 17-under 196 for the week, beating Bubba Watson by three shots for the title.
It's another $4 million payday for Niemann, who increases his lead on top of the LIV Golf individual standings with only two events left in the season, coming in Chicago and Indianapolis. LIV Golf's season finale in Michigan is the team championship.
Watson made a run at Niemann in the latter stages of the final round, going 8 under in a six-hole stretch that included a pair of eagles on par 5s. He was within two shots of Niemann with four holes to play but bogeyed the par-4 15th when Niemann made birdie, and the lead was back to four with three holes to go.
Watson's second-place finish was his best since joining LIV Golf.
Caleb Surratt had his first podium finish for LIV Golf, placing third at 13 under.

Niemann admitted feeling some pressure before he settled to finish three shots clear on 17 under. "I felt like today I was pretty calm, pretty chill, until Bubba started playing golf," he said. "He made it tough for me. I was actually feeling the pressure on 13, 14, but, yeah, just stay in the present. Yeah, was able to hit a great shot on 15. After that, [it] put me back into my place." American Watson's 14 under was the two-time major winner's best LIV Golf finish. Niemann's success in Staffordshire followed ones in Adelaide, Singapore, Mexico City and Virginia this season as he became the first player to register five wins in a season on the LIV tour. Jon Rahm's Legion XIII won the team event as he, Englishman Tyrrell Hatton, Northern Ireland's Tom McKibbin and Caleb Surratt finished with a combined score of 35 under.

After caddie change that 'wasn't my choice,' Kurt Kitayama teams with bro for 3M win
Kurt Kitayama's three-shot victory Sunday at the 3M Open marked his second career PGA Tour win. It was his first alongside his older brother, Daniel. Daniel Kitayama, who has caddied off and on for his brother over the years, picked up the bag for the first time this season at last week's Barracuda Championship, which was Kurt's first event after splitting with his previous caddie, Tim Tucker. And as Tucker worked spot duty for his old boss, Bryson DeChambeau, at this week's LIV U.K. event, Daniel was looping a second straight week for little bro. 'You know, the caddie change wasn't my choice actually,' Kitayama said Sunday evening, 'and so I had to find someone that I knew, I had to find someone that I trusted, and my brother's been on the bag before. We won twice in Europe. He's always been around me at tournaments and whenever he can, so I figured that was going to be the best fit to finish the season.' Kurt Kitayama was T-4 at the John Deere Classic, his last tournament with Tucker on the bag, before tying for 14th in Tahoe. Tucker was filling in for DeChambeau's regular caddie, Greg Bodine, and told Golfweek that after this week, 'I will see what opportunities there are in the caddie world.' DeChambeau was T-11 on Sunday. Said Kurt of Daniel: 'He helped me stay calm out there, make good decisions, and yeah, just helps having family on the bag.' Kitayama's win moved him to No. 53 in FedExCup points, so with one regular-season tournament left, he's guaranteed to qualify for the playoff opener, the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis.

ROCESTER, England – Joaquin Niemann continued his stellar season with a commanding wire-to-wire victory at LIV Golf UK by JCB Golf & Country Club, marking his fifth win of the 2025 season and seventh LIV Golf win overall — both LIV Golf records. The Chilean posted rounds of 65-63-68, finishing at 17-under, three shots ahead of his closest challenger. The triumph followed his decision to part ways with his coach and caddie after missing the cut at The Open Championship, a change he seamlessly overcame. On the team side, Legion XIII surged to a team victory for the second consecutive week and the fifth time this season. Niemann's dominance at JCB was a masterclass, excelling in all major statistical categories. He was exceptional from tee to green and among the week's top putters. The Torque GC captain's relentless performance in LIV Golf victories remains nothing short of jaw-dropping. It felt as though Niemann would not be threatened all day, but Bubba Watson made a strong charge on the back nine. The RangeGoats GC captain was scorching hot, going birdie-eagle-birdie-birdie-eagle-birdie on holes 9-14. The remarkable run was vintage Watson, and the 44-year-old cut the deficit to two shots with four holes to play. A birdie for Niemann on the 15th hole would stretch the lead back to three, but Watson made things interesting for a short time. He finished the week at 14-under par, good for solo second place and his best-ever LIV Golf finish. Caleb Surratt, 21, continued his rapid ascension as one of the league's brightest young players. He led the way for Legion XIII's come-from-behind team victory on Sunday when he recorded rounds of 67-68-65 to finish at 13-under and in third place, the best LIV Golf finish of his career. In fourth place was Talor Gooch of Smash GC, who shot a 5-under 66 to finish at 11-under and continue his strong form after winning his last start at LIV Golf Andalucia. On the team leaderboard, Legion XIII's victory was claimed by seven shots. The win marks their fourth of the season and eighth in the last two years. The champagne shower extends their stranglehold on the No. 1 seed in the standings as the Team Championship in Michigan inches closer. Surratt led the charge, but it was the consistency of the team, top-to-bottom, that ensured another victory. Jon Rahm charged on Sunday, shooting a 6-under 65 to finish tied for fifth. Tom McKibbin (T11) and Tyrrell Hatton (T21) both played solidly to contribute to the win. Despite a strong effort from Torque GC as they pursued their first team victory since 2023, they weren't able to overcome a tough round for Carlos Ortiz, who shot a 2-over 73. Sebastian Munoz shot a 2-under 69 and Mito Pereira shot an even par 70, which simply wasn't enough to hold off the hard-charging Legion XIII. JCB was easier in Round 3 than in the first two rounds, playing to an average of –1.87. Next up is LIV Golf Chicago at Bolingbrook Golf Club from Aug. 8-10.
