Cat Deeley joked about 'poor Patrick' in intimate bedroom admission before split
They added, "We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected."
Last year, Cat playfully mentioned a bedroom quirk in an interview, talking about her elaborate skincare routine that helps her keep looking young. Speaking to The Telegraph, she quipped: "I go to bed like a greasy potato chip, you've never seen anything like it. It's all over the pillows. Poor Paddy!".
It has come to light that Cat and Patrick had been living separately for much of the past year. A source disclosed to the Daily Mail that the couple's intense work schedules had created distance between them.
"It is such sad news," said the source. "They were so happy after they moved back to London, and would talk about their grand plans to renovate the house for the family.", reports the Mirror.
"However, as often is the case with relationships, work got in the way and it put a huge strain on the marriage."
Patrick has been splitting his time between Dublin, where he hosts The Late Late Show, and London, where he presents a weekly show on Radio 5 Live. He has also faced personal losses, with both his mother and aunt passing away within the last year.
Observers pointed out that Cat was conspicuously absent from the funeral procession when Patrick bore his mother Mary's coffin in his home village back in March. A representative explained at the time: "Cat remained at home to be there for her two young children before and after school on this very sad day."
Since February 2024, Cat's been swamped with her role on ITV's This Morning, resulting in her and Patrick barely crossing paths, akin to "like ships in the night."
While on air, Cat disclosed that she and Patrick often slept apart due to their work schedules. She shared: "It's one of those things – because of our schedule here [on This Morning], from Monday to Thursday I sleep in the guest bedroom and the rest of the time I'm back. Because otherwise I get up at 5am and I want to fall asleep earlier."
Before saying yes to This Morning after protracted talks at the end of 2023, Cat had been presenting So You Think You Can Dance on American television, which only added to the distance between them.
Although their careers initially brought them together – they first crossed paths in 2002 on BBC's Fame Academy – it ultimately played a part in driving them apart.
Prior to the announcement of their separation, Patrick had maintained that their clashing timetables weren't an issue, but he conceded that they "probably could have timed it better in terms of the juggle."
The presenter gushed about his Irish TV chat show being his "dream job," and marvelled at the thought of both him and his wife hosting major shows, calling it "kind of mad."
He shared with RSVP Magazine: "I've had my house in Dundrum [County Down] for 25 years now and I've always been back and forth. The kids are in school in London and Cat works in London, she's there four days a week."
He further clarified that relocating to Ireland permanently wasn't on the cards for them, explaining: "I can just about come to Dublin to do what I do, but she's in ITV four days a week."

Prince Harry denies allegations of 'punching Andrew' and 'calling him a coward'
Prince Harry has denied claims that he left Prince Andrew with a 'bloody nose' during a furious altercation, made in a bombshell new book. The Duke of Sussex is accused of punching the Duke of York at a family gathering in 2013 after branding him a "coward" in author Andrew Lownie's new book Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York. Tensions are said to have flared between the royal pair after Harry was told of "something Andrew said" behind his back, he writes, adding that the relationship between the two has not improved over a decade since the alleged incident. In a new extract from the book, Mr Lownie writes: "At a family gathering in 2013, Harry and Andrew had got into a heated argument, and punches were thrown over something Andrew said behind Harry's back." In the book, which is being serialised by the Daily Mail, he added: "According to a source close to both men, Harry told him he was a coward not to say it to his face. Harry got the better of Andrew by all accounts, leaving him with a bloody nose before the fight was broken up." The author also described Prince Andrew's relationship with both his nephews Harry and William as "problematic", with Andrew later said to have told the Duke of Sussex that his marriage to Meghan Markle would "not last more than a month". Harry's representatives have denied both claims made in the new book, Mirror UK reports. In a statement to People magazine, a member of the Duke's staff said: "I can confirm neither of those things are true. Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight, nor did Prince Andrew ever make those comments about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry." The book also alleges that Prince William has been working behind the scenes to support Andrew's eviction from the Royal Lodge, the £31 million Windsor estate where the Duke of York lives with his former wife, Sarah Ferguson. It follows multiple reported attempts by King Charles to have his brother removed from the 31-bed mansion, with the Duke of York appearing intent to stay put. Photos from earlier this year showed the property looking distinctly worse for wear, with black mould, damp, and cracked paintwork visible around the exterior, as well as the outbuildings and the gatehouse. The Prince of Wales is said to have "long harboured" disdain for both Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, according to the book, and would look to evict the pair himself upon taking the throne should his father not succeed. Olivia, 34, shared a number of behind-the-scenes snaps on the set of the flagship ITV Show. Her cover shot showed the star posing in her dressing room in a white vest top, skimpy black trousers as her hair was pulled up. Another video was taken by her entourage as she was on the set of This Morning with her co-star Dermot O'Leary. She danced in an orange top and high-waisted navy trousers as the cameras and production teams moved around her. A third video showed the star getting a make-up top up as a stylist fluttered around fixing her hair whilst she looked through her cue cards. The former reality star also posed in her glasses as the face of an exclusive VIP event for Boots opticians. However, she also relaxed away from the cameras as she attended the Oasis concert at Wembley Stadium with her husband Bradley Dack. He looked absolutely delighted as he wrapped his arms around her in an intimate selfie from their private hospitality box. Not stopping there, she was busy in the voiceover booth recording segments for forthcoming editions of Olivia Attwood's Bad Boyfriends. This Morning fans deliver verdict on Olivia Attwood as she makes her debut as new co-host with Dermot O'Leary After that, the star met a group of fans on the set of a special Love Island fashion event for eBay Live. She was dressed in a silk white wrap top with beige wide leg trousers as she was joined by Casey O'Gorman and Sophie Piper. Olivia captioned the album: "I get around." The star previously faced backlash when she made her debut on the flagship ITV daytime magazine programme. Olivia Attwood's Career History From Monster grid girl and Love Island star to daytime telly panellist and respected documentary maker, Olivia Attwood has made a huge career pivot in recent years... Olivia first started as a Monster grid girl at motorsport events in 2012 when she was 19-years-old, and did it right up until she went into Love Island in 2017. After placing third in the reality show with then-boyfriend Chris Hughes, she starred in their own spin-off series, Chris & Olivia: Crackin' On, in 2018. Later that year, she appeared on Celebs Go Dating and then joined the cast of The Only Way Is Essex in 2019, where she had a number of fiery on-screen rows. In 2020, the reality TV veteran began starring in her own reality series on ITVBe titled Olivia Meets Her Match, which followed her wedding preparations with footballer Bradley Dack. In 2021, the tide started to turn. Olivia made appearances on household shows Lorraine, Tipping Point: Lucky Stars and Loose Women. Then, in 2022, ITV commissioned her for her first ever documentary series. She presented Olivia Attwood: Getting Filthy Rich, which explored women selling sexual content online. In June 2023, ITV commissioned Olivia Marries Her Match and made her a regular guest panellist on Loose Women. Her most recent docu-series, Olivia Attwood: The Price of Perfection, aired in January this year where she sensitively explored the cosmetic industry. Her reality background didn't go down well with some of the more traditionalist viewers, who vowed to switch off. Olivia clapped back at the trolls who shared their dismay with her appointment in the role, as she insisted "there's much more to me." Her colleague Josie Gibson, 40, who is a regular presenter on This Morning, later defended Olivia, saying she's 'brilliant' in the role. She told The Sun: "Oh my God she's brilliant. It's brilliant she gets to do this and I think she's really good. Yeah, really good. Those who know me understand the hard work I've put in to get where I am today. Olivia Attwood "Honestly, you get some backlash like that in this industry and I really don't know why people do it." The former Big Brother star added: "I'll never understand why people do it, you know. To me, I've always loved to see people do well and I genuinely love it. "I think Olivia is brilliant in the role." 10 Olivia Attwood was also the face for an exclusive VIP event for Boots Opticians Credit: 10 Olivia danced with her co-host Dermot O'Leary in a video captured by her entourage Credit: 10 She gave her 2.4million fans a sneak peak her working life Credit: 10 She's also been busy getting new episodes together for her reality show, Bad Boyfriends Credit: 10 The personality delighted meeting fans on the set of Ebay Live's Love Island event Credit: 10 Olivia still managed to get some personal time in with her husband Credit:
