Browns K Dustin Hopkins looking to rebound in 2025 season
Browns K Dustin Hopkins looking to rebound in 2025 season originally appeared on The Sporting News During the 2022 (L.A. Chargers) and 2023 (Cleveland Browns) seasons, Dustin Hopkins was nearly perfect with a make percentage over 90%. During the 2023 Browns season, Hopkins made 8 of 10 on kicks over 50 yards and became a lethal weapon. Then during the 2024 offseason, he signed a three-year extension worth $15.9 million, and it all went downhill. Last year, Hopkins only made 66.7% of his kicks, which included only four of eight from 50-plus and three missed extra points. Even though last season there were talks about cutting him, he appears to be getting back to form as he kicked a game-winner in practice on Monday. We don't usually hear a ton on kickers out of camp, but seeing him get confidence early should only help his season get off to a better start than last year. Hopkins will be dealing with a short fuse by fans, and a few costly kicks missed at the beginning of the season could easily cost him his job.
