Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Gaza: Over 580 martyrs & 4,000 injured among aid seekers

Saba Yemen10 hours ago

Gaza - Saba:
Khalil Al-Daqran, spokesperson for Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Gaza, stated on Sunday that more than 580 Palestinian citizens were martyred and over 4,000 others were injured while attempting to reach aid distribution points.
He described the new aid distribution mechanism as having caused a major crisis, exacerbating the suffering of civilians.
According to the Quds Press Agency, Al-Daqran warned of the worsening humanitarian and medical situation in the Gaza Strip amid the ongoing Zionist aggression and the lack of sufficient international support.
Al-Daqran emphasized that the healthcare system is on the verge of complete collapse due to the rising numbers of martyrs and wounded.
He noted that the increasing number of injured is placing immense pressure on health facilities, which are no longer able to accommodate such a large volume of cases, given the severe shortage of medicines and medical supplies.
He further stressed that "the healthcare system in Gaza is almost entirely collapsed."
Al-Daqran added that humanitarian conditions are deteriorating dangerously, with displacement centers lacking any aid, while the enemy continues to target shelters and food distribution centers, worsening the widespread malnutrition across all provinces of the Strip.
He warned of the rampant spread of diseases, pointing out that the health sector has recorded over 400 cases of meningitis since the beginning of the year, alongside rising infection and disease rates among children, amid the absence of even the most basic healthcare necessities.
Since October 7, 2023, the enemy forces, with absolute American support, have continued to commit genocidal crimes in Gaza, resulting in over 189,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded—most of them children and women—along with more than 11,000 missing persons and hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals.

WHO: 112 Palestinian children arrive at hospitals daily for malnutrition

Geneva - Saba: The World Health Organization (WHO) said that approximately 112 Palestinian children have been admitted to hospitals in the Gaza Strip daily for treatment for malnutrition since the beginning of this year, due to the stifling Israeli blockade. The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said in a press statement on Saturday: "The situation in Gaza, which is being subjected to intense Israeli attacks and a stifling blockade, has passed the stage of catastrophe." He added that 17 of the 36 hospitals in the Strip are partially functioning, noting that there is no hospital in northern Gaza or in Rafah in the south. He noted that 500 people were "killed" while trying to obtain food at humanitarian aid distribution points operated by the United States and Israel, not including the United Nations. He stated that the World Health Organization had "very limited" access to Gaza this week for the first time since March 2. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print
