The head of delegation of Bahrain hands over the presidency of Arab Summit to Iraq
Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani handed over the presidency of the 34th Arab Summit to President Abdullatif Rashid on Saturday.
In a speech he delivered during the 34th Arab Summit, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Al-Zayani stressed that "the summit is being held today in Baghdad amid challenges that require all Arab countries to find appropriate solutions to ensure the security of the region and ensure the safety of maritime navigation."
He pointed out that "the previous summit, chaired by the State of Bahrain, emphasized the need to support the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to establish a state with full membership in the United Nations."
He explained that "the proposed recovery plan for Gaza must receive significant attention during the current summit, along with the need to adhere to the ceasefire agreements in the Strip and release all detainees and prisoners."

According to a joint statement published by the UAE Foreign Ministry, foreign ministers from Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Bahrain, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, and Egypt held intensive discussions over the past two days on the evolving situation in Syria.
