Amarnath Yatra suspended amid high-level political huddles in Delhi
An order issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, directed immediate withdrawal of staff from the Base Camp at Yatri Niwas (Bhagwati Nagar), Ram Mandir (Purani Mandi), and Geeta Bhawan (Parade). Officers have been instructed to return to their original postings for regular duty.
The suspension follows the annual yatra's high footfall this year and coincides with a surge in political meetings in the national capital. President Droupadi Murmu recently held back-to-back meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, sparking speculation about a significant political development in the Union Territory.
Shah has also met with senior leaders from Jammu and Kashmir, including the BJP chief of the erstwhile state. Significantly, this (August 5) is the sixth anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370. In 2019, J&K was stripped of its statehood.
The timing of the yatra's formal suspension has only added fuel to speculation that a major announcement on J&K's political future could be imminent.

Centre keen on building Amaravati: Madhav
Narasaraopet: BJP state president PVN Madhav said the Central government is extending all kinds of support and cooperation for the development of state capital Amaravati. Addressing the media here on Monday, he said highway construction works are progressing in every district of the state. Approximately 4,400 kilometres of highways have already been completed. He said 27 highway roads worth Rs 5,600 crore have been inaugurated. He reminded that an amount of Rs 3,000 crore has been sanctioned by the Central government for the Outer Ring Road related works. He said on the occasion of Independence Day, Tiranga rallies will be organised in every constituency and every house will be encouraged to hoist the national flag. Earlier, he consoled the workers who were injured in a quarry accident at Ballikurava and undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Narasaraopet. He expressed confidence that the coalition government will extend the support and cooperation to the families of six workers who died and also to those who were injured in the accident.

17 cr jobs created under Modi rule, claims Mandaviya
New Delhi: India created over 17 crore jobs in the decade under Narendra Modi's leadership, a significant leap from the 3 crore reported in the preceding UPA tenure, Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya told Parliament on Monday. Responding to a starred question in the Lok Sabha, Mandaviya cited Reserve Bank of India data to substantiate the claim. 'About 10 crore employment generation is recorded in the last 10 years during the Modi government... If we work of ten years of UPA rule, then only 3 crore jobs were created. We don't say at our own as it is the data of RBI,' he said. Mandaviya added that the Centre had facilitated jobs for 11 lakh youth in the past 16 months alone. The minister referred to the recently launched PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY), designed to generate more than 4 crore jobs over the next five years with a budgetary outlay of ₹2 lakh crore.

PM to address NDA parl party meeting today
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the BJP-led NDA parliamentary party meeting on Tuesday, a get-together of the ruling alliance's MPs which is being held after a considerable gap. The NDA meeting comes a couple of days before the filing of nomination for vice president's election begins from August 7. The NDA will have to announce its candidate, whose election will be a certainty due to the alliance's majority in the electoral college, by August 21, the last date of nomination-filing and the Monsoon Session of Parliament. The meeting comes in the middle of a session which has been all but a washout so far, except for a two-day discussion on the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor.
