Virginia Giuffre's heart-wrenching diary reveals Epstein victim's painful and ‘abusive' final months before her suicide

The Sun02-07-2025
VIRGINIA Giuffre's diary leading up to her tragic suicide have shown how much the victim of Jeffrey Epstein had been struggling.
Those final months of her life were said to have been tougher than any legal battle or mental scars left behind by Epstein or Prince Andrew, her sister-in-law has said.

Cops found Virginia, 41, unresponsive at her remote farmhouse, an hour north of Perth, Australia, back in April.
Her passing followed a series of troubling events involving allegations of abuse, a mysterious bus crash riddle and her family being torn apart.
Now, Virginia's loved ones and her heart-wrenching last few diary entries have revealed how tough her final days really were.
Her death was a terrible ending to this story, but there is a big part of it she never got to tell
Amanda RobertsVirginia's sister-in-law
Amanda Roberts, the wife of Virginia's younger brother Sky, told The Times: "[She] may have fought battles with some of the most powerful men in the world, like Epstein and Prince Andrew.
"But what people didn't understand was that [in her final days] the hardest battle of her life was at home.
"Her death was a terrible ending to this story, but there is a big part of it she never got to tell."
The hardship revolved around her home life and most notably her once trusted husband of 22 years Robert Giuffre.
Robert, a martial arts instructor and the father to Virginia's three children, reportedly left the brave accuser back in August 2023.
During this time, Robert took the children - aged 19, 16, and 15 - with him and away from Virginia.
But in a tell-all interview shortly before her death, Virginia came forward for the first time with allegations that she had suffered abuse at the hands of her husband.
'I was able to fight back against Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein, who abused and trafficked me," she said in a statement to People magazine.
'But I was unable to escape the domestic violence in my marriage until recently. After my husband's latest physical assault, I can no longer stay silent."
In response, Robert is reported to have filed a family violence restraining order against her, claiming that it was her who had become violent.
Virginia's family have now shared extracts from her diary at the beginning of this year, in which she shares her memories of her marriage as it was faltering.
She alleges Robert was violent, abusive and 'emotionally and physically controlling' within the texts and legal filings.
One passage detailed how Virginia believed the ramifications of her speaking out against Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell and making the claims against Andrew caused her marriage to break down over time.
Virginia wrote in her diary: "The stronger I became, the scarier he became.
"Instead of praising his wife's accomplishments he began to be jealous, trying to make me stop advocating for victims of trafficking"

Another page detailed Virginia's worries as she claimed there were "increased signs of possessiveness" from Robert towards her.
These allegedly included him telling Virginia his best mates were trying to sleep with her and banning her from going downstairs when any man was over at their home.
"I became a prisoner," she wrote.
Robert's attorney has said they cannot comment on the accusations due to legal proceedings relating to the family ongoing in Western Australia.
Further allegations were uncovered in a series of text messages sent in April of this year - just weeks before Virginia took her own life.
One of these detailed the earliest alleged incident of domestic violence which dates back to 2010, according to a message shared by Virginia's public representative Dini von Mueffling.
Virginia accused Robert of punching and kicking her on the floor after he returned home from a "3-day bender" just months after their youngest child was born.
There is no record of a formal complaint being made at the time.
However, a court filing from 2015 has been found by The Times which details Robert was arrested in Colorado for an alleged assault on Virginia.
The couple kept the case, which was labelled as "domestic violence" related in remont County, private from the world.
Robert pleaded guilty to domestic violence and was placed on probation, according to the filing.
Sky and Amanda Roberts have both come out since and said they viewed Robert as "controlling" and having a short temper.
Who was Virginia Giuffre?
VIRGINIA Roberts - later Virginia Giuffre, 41, was an American-Australian campaigner and a prominent victim of the sex trafficking ring of Jeffrey Epstein.
She made claims against Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, as well as Brit socialite Ghislaine Maxwell - Jeffrey Epstein's ex-lover.
Giuffre alleged in court documents that she was procured by Maxwell, 63, the daughter of disgraced tycoon Robert Maxwell, as a teenage 'sex slave' for Epstein.
She released a manuscript just hours before Epstein's death, which added to more than 2,000 documents of a lawsuit pending against the former financier and his pals.
The legal documents were released in a defamation case involving Giuffre, who has claimed in court documents that Prince Andrew slept with her three times.
In 2019, Virginia Roberts claimed that she had sex with Prince Andrew in a toilet when she was 17, after a night where he had allegedly been plying her with vodka in a posh London club.
On February 15, 2022, it was announced that Prince Andrew settled the lawsuit - sparing him a humiliating court battle.
But they admitted Virginia had never mentioned any physical abuse up until this year.
On January 9, Virginia first told her brother about an alleged incident.
She accused Robert of "punching her over and over" after Virginia allegedly refused to have sex with her husband.
At this point the pair were estranged and living apart with them only meeting to spend time with the children.
Sky recalls Virginia facetiming him after the alleged attack and saying she had suffered recurring injuries to her sternum and spine.
Pictures allegedly showing Virginia's injuries were shared as the mum-of-three had a black eye, a marked forehead and bruised neck.
Robert then hit back with accusations of his own as he claimed Virginia headbutted, spat and punched him on the same evening.
Police were informed of both accusations and investigated them but no charges were filed.
Robert would file for temporary custody of two of their children shortly after and was granted the request.
Virginia was then told she couldn't contact the two kids for six months due to Robert filing a restraining order.
She never saw her children again due to her death a short time after.
Virginia did make a desperate last plea to speak to her daughters and son in March.
She posted a photograph of herself that quickly made headlines around the world as she was covered in bruises and in a hospital bed.
Virginia claimed her car had been hit by a school bus travelling at nearly 70mph and had just four days left to live.
In a gut-wrenching statement she said: 'I'm ready to go, just not until I see my babies one last time.'
However, shock quickly turned to confusion after Australian police revealed the collision was logged as a minor traffic incident and that no injuries were reported.
Virginia representatives later said that the Instagram post was a mistake and had been intended for a private page.
Her family believe the post was a final attempt to reach out to her children.
This was backed up by a poignant final diary entry titled: "To the kids."
It read: "Everyday that I don't see your faces has a little less light.
"The world is dimmer without you in it."

Ghislaine Maxwell moved to low-risk jail as inmates bombarded her with death threats and accusations she was a 'snitch'

Ghislaine Maxwell was moved to another prison under cover of darkness after being 'bombarded' with death threats from rapists and murderers who accused her of being a 'snitch', The Mail on Sunday can reveal. The convicted sex offender was moved from Tallahassee Federal Jail in Florida to 'cushy' low-security Bryan prison camp 100 miles outside Houston, Texas, amid fears she would be killed. The move – which has been condemned by Maxwell's victims – came after the disgraced socialite spent two days speaking to Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche about more than 100 men connected to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, including Prince Andrew. Epstein died in jail in 2019 – his death was ruled a suicide but many, including his brother Mark, believe he was murdered – before he could be prosecuted on multiple child sex charges. During a nine-hour interrogation with Mr Blanche, Maxwell was grilled about men including Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, Bill Gates and 'several billionaires'. The source said: 'As soon as Ghislaine spoke to the government she was considered a snitch by other inmates at Tallahassee. There were very real and very credible threats on her life. The prison had dangerous inmates serving time for serious crimes like rape and murder. 'Tallahassee has not had a permanent governor in some time and is chronically under-staffed. She has faced death threats before but after meeting with the government she was bombarded with them. She had a target on her back. 'There were real fears inside Tallahassee that they could not guarantee her safety, which is why she was moved.' Maxwell was moved early on Thursday morning in a two-car convoy that drove 'for 16-hours straight' to Bryan, Texas. She was not shackled during the drive and stopped once for a toilet break in Louisiana. It is unprecedented for a convicted sex offender such as Maxwell – sentenced to 20 years – to be moved to a minimum-security facility like Bryan, nicknamed 'Camp Fed'. The source explained: 'There is a different class of people at Bryan so she is less likely to be attacked. It is an all-female facility. 'These are non-violent, white-collar criminals. It is a professionally run prison camp with a great warden, working cameras everywhere and properly trained staff. She is far safer there.' The source said reports Maxwell was in an 'honour dorm' in Tallahassee and already receiving preferential treatment were untrue. Bryan prison allows inmates to freely roam its 37-acre grounds which have 'limited or no perimeter fencing', according to the US Bureau of Prison's website. Inmates can take part in activities including training guide dogs for the blind, which allows them to keep a puppy for much of the day for 'socialisation'. There are yoga classes and a state-of-the-art gym. Maxwell will mix with white collar criminals including Elizabeth Holmes, the Silicon Valley fraudster convicted of stealing tens of millions through her now defunct blood-testing company, and Jen Shah, a former Real Housewife of Salt Lake City who was convicted of a telemarketing scam. The family of Virginia Giuffre expressed outrage over the move. Ms Giuffre died by suicide in April aged 41. She claimed Maxwell recruited her from the spa at Donald Trump's private Mar-a-Lago club and she was 'passed her around like a plate of meat' for Epstein and his friends to abuse. In a statement on Friday, Ms Giuffre's family said: 'Trump has sent a clear message today. Paedophiles deserve preferential treatment... Ghislaine Maxwell is a monster who deserves to rot in prison for the rest of her life.' Mr Trump's administration was plunged into a storm after promising to release files on Epstein but failing to do so. In an interview with Newsmax on Friday he said he will release them 'as long as they don't hurt anyone'. He added: 'I'm allowed to give her (Maxwell) a pardon but, right now, it would be inappropriate to talk about it.' Maxwell was set to testify before Congress on August 11 but it has been postponed while the US Supreme Court decides whether to hear her appeal.

Former Trump and Epstein lawyer threatened with arrest over feud with pierogi vendor

Jeffrey Epstein and Donald Trump 's former attorney Alan Dershowitz was threatened with arrest after getting into a spat with a pierogi vendor on Martha's Vineyard. Dershowitz was at the West Tisbury Farmers Market on Wednesday when he claims Good Pierogi declined to sell to him because of his 'politics'. Video of the aftermath showed a police officer threatening to arrest the lawyer for trespassing unless he left the area. 'They couldn't say no blacks, they couldn't say no Jews, and they can't say... no Trump supporters, I'm not a Trump supporter, but they can't say no Trump supporters,' he said to the officer. 'I've been going here for 53 this farmer's market. I have never been refused service,' he added. The two went back and forth for several minutes arguing about the law until the officer said Dershowitz was 'causing a disturbance'. 'I had four people come up to me and say that the gentleman with the blue shirt is causing a disturbance,' the officer said. 'I have multiple reports—' 'But they're wrong,' Dershowitz interrupted. 'I'm not causing a disturbance.' Dershowitz then said he wanted to stay at least 20 feet away from the pierogi stand and encourage people not to patronize them. 'If you do that on the premises you will be asked to leave because you're disrupting the business,' the officer said. Dershowitz tried to insist that he knew the law better than the officer, but the interaction wound down once the officer said he would arrest Dershowitz for trespassing if he stayed at the farmer's market. After some more arguing, Dershowitz agreed to leave. Krem Miskevich is the owner and operator Good Pierogi. Miskevich, who was born in Warsaw, Poland, also runs a catering business on Martha's Vineyard. Dershowitz told Daily Mail that Miskevich was the one who declined to sell him the six pierogi he asked for. 'And he said "no,"' Dershowitz claimed. 'I said "oh, you've run out of pierogi? Too bad." [The vendor allegedly said] "no no no, we have plenty of pierogi. I just won't sell them to you".' Dershowitz said he asked why and Miskevich allegedly replied, 'I won't sell them to you because I don't approve of your politics. I don't approve of who you've represented. I don't approve of who you support.' In a post on X, Dershowitz declared that he would be 'suing' and called the Good Pierogi a 'bigoted vendor'. Daily Mail approached Good Pierogi and Miskevich for comment. 'The clear implication was that he opposed me because I defended Donald Trump on the floor of the Senate,' Dershowitz said. Dershowitz was one of the lawyers who defended Trump in his first impeachment trial in 2020. He was also part of the 'Dream Team' that convinced a jury to acquit O.J. Simpson in his 1995 murder trial. His most controversial past client though was unquestionably Epstein, whom he represented in 2008 when the financier was first formally accused of sexually abusing dozens of underage girls. With the representation of Dershowitz and others, Epstein secured what many have called a lenient plea deal from the Miami US Attorney's Office that led to him only serving 13 months jail. Dershowitz didn't mention Epstein as a reason the pierogi vendor could have turned on him, however, he did claim that the vendor looked at him funny during an earlier visit when he was wearing a T-shirt that said, 'Proud American Zionist'. 'It became evident to me that he opposed my being a Zionist, my support for Israel,' he said. Dershowitz said he informed an official with the farmer's market that he would take 'legal action' against it 'to make sure that they only have booths by people who will sell to everybody, that they don't allow people to have booths on this quasi-public property that discriminate on the basis of race or religion or gender or politics'. He told Daily Mail that he isn't going to have to sue the farmer's market because management told him 'they're probably going to change their bylaws'. 'I don't have to sue. I've won,' he added. Ethan Buchanan-Valenti, the manager of the farmer's market, previously told the Vineyard Gazette that he is in the process of reviewing the bylaws, 'to make sure everyone at the market is always being respected and their rights protected'. A spokesman for the West Tisbury Police Department confirmed to Daily Mail that Dershowitz showed up to Saturday's farmer's market. 'He came by earlier today,' the spokesman said. 'There was no incident he caused. He was not disorderly.' The spokesman added that the Good Pierogi stand was not at the market today, as it usually only makes an appearance on Wednesdays. This is not the first highly public spat that Dershowitz has had with someone on Martha's Vineyard. Back in 2021, he and Larry David — whom he was friends with for 25 years — got into a screaming match at a general store, according to Dershowitz. The comedian was reportedly furious that Dershowitz patted Trump's former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on the back, which was first reported by PageSix.

Massachusetts mayoral candidate goes viral over unfortunate name: 'I am proud of it'

A Massachusetts mayoral candidate who shares an incredibly similar name to notorious pedophile Jeffrey Epstein says he doesn't plan on changing it. Geoff Epstein, 77, is a father of two who is hoping to secure the votes of 73,000 residents in Framingham, 22 miles outside of Boston. Despite the slight spelling variation, he is candid about his name's unfortunate similarity to the other Epstein, a disgraced financier and sex offender who died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking. But Australian-born Geoff - who was also born on September 11 - insists that he won't change his name or when he celebrates his birthday. 'No way,' he told HuffPost. 'I like my name and I am proud of my family. 'That other one is a dead American and I am a [living] Aussie.' He insists he could not be further from his namesake and has spent his time in Framingham trying to make it a better place. 'I have lived my life trying to be straight up and improving things,' he told the outlet. Geoff Epstein, 77, is a father of two who is hoping to become mayor of Framingham, located 22 miles outside Boston He unfortunately shares a namesake in Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier and sex offender who died in jail in 2019 And another Epstein, who is also a politician, encouraged Geoff to stay proud of roots. NYC councilman candidate Harvey Epstein - who shares a first name with predator Harvey Weinstein - told Politico: 'My advice to Geoffrey would be to lead with your values and who you are as a candidate. 'People will support you if you do the work and follow through.' Geoff was drawn into public service while living in Newton, Massachusetts, where his son was attending primary school and he noticed he was struggling with math. He later ran for the school committee on a science and math platform and won. He was a member from January 2008 to December 2013, his LinkedIn showed. 'I learned that if you go out to the community and tell them the facts and what you're about that really works,' he said in an interview posted to his YouTube. Epstein moved to Framingham in 2014 and joined the school committee in January 2018, despite his two children being grown. He left in December of 2021. Despite the awkward similarity, Geoff (left) - who was also born on September 11 - has no intention of changing his name or when he celebrates his birthday The father-of-two is hoping to upset incumbent Charlie Sisitsky (pictured) The senior then shifted his focus to the city of Framingham, which led to his campaign this year. He is running on a platform promoting education, bettering the infrastructure, protecting the environment, and better manage the city's finances. 'Either I leave or I stay and fight and I decided I would stay and fight,' he said. The father-of-two is hoping to upset incumbent Charlie Sisitsky. As for whether or not his name is helping or harming his campaign, he is unsure. 'No one locally cares about that at all,' the former theoretical physics professor told Politico. Daily Mail has reached out to Geoff for comment.
