The NFL has announced a new uniform policy for the 2025 season, and I have a feeling fans across the league are going to be happy about it. On Monday afternoon it was announced that teams are now allowed to wear their throwback and alternate uniforms up to four times this year. Previously, teams were limited to only three games with their throwbacks/alternates.
Of course, with this news, there's likely one thing on the mind of the 12th Man: more opportunities to see the royal blue throwbacks in action!
The Seahawks wore their beloved throwbacks twice last season. They made their season debut in the 26-20 victory over the Denver Broncos in Week 1, and they re-appeared during a 36-24 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6. The only reason why Seattle did not opt to wear these threads a third time is because they decided to wear the all-Action Green alternates for a Sunday Night Football contest against the Green Bay Packers in Week 15.
Rules regarding the usage of a third helmet were also loosened, but that does not apply to the Seahawks as of right now. Seattle currently only has their typical navy helmet, and their silver throwback.
Adding an extra game to bust out a throwback or alternate jersey will obviously allow teams to fully maximize their entire wardrobe, and bring versatility to the field. While fans will surely be pining for another game with the throwbacks (I won't complain) I personally would like to see Seattle use the opportunity to wear the Action Green jersey again. One of my favorite combinations in the Seahawks uniform rotation is the Action Green jersey paired with their navy pants. It was a look we did not get to see last year, and have not seen since Week 15 of the 2022 season.

Cowboys Working Out 3 Notable Free Agents Before Camp

Cowboys Working Out 3 Notable Free Agents Before Camp originally appeared on The Spun. With training camp fast approaching the Dallas Cowboys are reportedly kicking the tires on a number of potential free agents this weekend. As the team continues its negotiations with All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons, Dallas is reportedly working out three different pass rushers according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler — including Jesse Luketa, Kameron Cline and James Houston. All three potential signees are in their mid-to-late 20s and have seen their share of time on an NFL field. Houston came onto the scene pretty strong as a rookie in 2022 with eight sacks in seven games but has failed to match that production since. Meanwhile, Luketa is coming off his best season as a pro with the Arizona Cardinals; while Cline has served as a valuable practice squad body for the Buffalo Bills in recent years. The Cowboys are due to report to training camp on Monday and questions still linger about whether or not Parsons will be there. Jerry Jones and Co. have consistently dragged their feet on contracts for key players of late and its only resulted in the price going up to retain their stars. Parsons could holdout or "hold-in" as he seeks the big money contract extension that his performance has earned. But at the same time, signing Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb to top of the market deals has really hamstrung the team and flexibility against the cap. If Parsons does withhold his services its hard to imagine the Cowboys won't eventually give in to his demands. However, its still very much on the table that they kick the can down the road into Working Out 3 Notable Free Agents Before Camp first appeared on The Spun on Jul 20, 2025 This story was originally reported by The Spun on Jul 20, 2025, where it first appeared.

NFL Team Calls Out Their First Round Pick Ahead Of Training Camp

NFL Team Calls Out Their First Round Pick Ahead Of Training Camp originally appeared on The Spun. With most NFL training camps getting underway this week, only one first-round pick remains unsigned: Bengals EDGE Shemar Stewart. After being selected 17th overall by Cincinnati earlier this year, Stewart has yet to report this offseason outside of a brief appearance at the team's rookie minicamp which he left due to his ongoing contract dispute. And now the franchise's director of player personnel is directly calling out the former Texas A&M star. Speaking to the media on Monday, Duke Tobin made it very clear that he'd like to see Stewart at the team's facility sooner rather than later. "I hope Shemar comes in," Tobin said. "He needs to be here. I would encourage him to be here. He could be a factor for a championship-caliber football team. I'd like to see him and I hope he gets here soon." "I don't blame Shemar. He's listening to the advice he's paying for. I don't understand the advice," the front office man added. "We're treating him fairly." Bengals president Mike Brown also offered his thoughts on the matter. Saying that most of it centers around the guaranteed dollars in Stewart's rookie contract. "The issue seems to be about guaranteed money, if in the event, he acted in a way that was contrary to league rules, or our rules, for example, if he got into a criminal situation," Brown explained. "That's what's holding up this contract, and from our vantage point, it's a form of foolishness. It just ought to get done," he concluded. "There is no dispute over the money. It's just a dispute in his mind that I guess, if he did something that really deserved punishment, that he would want the whole contract guaranteed." Stewart has reportedly looked into the potential of returning to school amid his holdout — something that's never been done Team Calls Out Their First Round Pick Ahead Of Training Camp first appeared on The Spun on Jul 21, 2025 This story was originally reported by The Spun on Jul 21, 2025, where it first appeared.

Dallas Cowboys Star Announces It's Super Bowl Or Bust

Dallas Cowboys Star Announces It's Super Bowl Or Bust originally appeared on The Spun. Expectations for the Cowboys are actually pretty modest this year — at least outside of the building. Following a 7-10 season that saw Dallas finish third in the NFC East, the team has since moved on from head coach Mike McCarthy and inserted Brian Schottenheimer. But that isn't stopping a star member of the Cowboys offensive line from thinking they can still hoist the Lombardi in 2025. Asked about his prediction for the season as training camp begins, two-time Pro Bowler Tyler Smith didn't shy away. Telling reporters, "Super Bowl champions … That's always the expectations." Outside of Micah Parsons' contract situation, Dallas is also facing a looming contract extension for Smith who could become the league's highest-paid guard whenever that deal takes place. As ESPN's Todd Archer notes: "The Kansas City Chiefs signed Trey Smith to a four-year deal worth $94 million. The Eagles' Landon Dickerson was the highest-paid guard at $21 million per; now it's $23.5 million for Trey Smith. Would the Cowboys be wise to match that? Go a little higher in the average? Probably so." "Smith recently made an agent change, moving to Joe Panos. In 2014, Panos was Tyron Smith's agent when he signed his eight-year extension. The Cowboys had exercised Tyron Smith's fifth-year option in 2015, but signed him in training camp. So there's a good working history between the club and agent." Smith has been awesome in his three seasons with the club after being drafted 24th overall out of Tulsa. But with so much of the franchise's expenses tied up in two (and soon, three) players, it's going to be interesting to see how it shakes out. The Dallas Cowboys have not reached a Super Bowl or even an NFC Championship in three decades now. Will that finally come to an end in February?Dallas Cowboys Star Announces It's Super Bowl Or Bust first appeared on The Spun on Jul 21, 2025 This story was originally reported by The Spun on Jul 21, 2025, where it first appeared.
