Samsung Launched The Galaxy Z Fold 7 But Where Is The Tri-Fold Device?
Samsung Galaxy tri-fold device launch has been in the news for a while and the company might have given us more clues about its unveiling.
Samsung Galaxy Unpacked came and went this month, where we saw the new Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Watch 8 series. However, many people expected the brand to have a surprise unveiling or a short teaser for another product, which eventually ended up being the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE model.
But where is the tri-fold device that has been in the news for a few months, and Samsung even gave us a teaser of the product at the Galaxy S25 launch in January. A new report gives us more insight into what Samsung plans to do with the next-gen foldable device and when it could launch.
Samsung's mobile business chief has reportedly shared the launch details for the tri-fold device which could be called the Galaxy G Fold. TM Roh has been quoted in a report by The Korea Times, saying the company is actively working on the tri-foldable device and it intends to launch the new product later this year.
Roh is probably a good source as an official spokesperson for the brand, and these comments suggest Samsung is ironing out the final bits of the new device before having it ready to launch before the year ends. He does not give any specifics on the timeline, but we can assume it could be around October or even November, once the iPhone 17 buzz is over.
Samsung Tri-Fold Device Launch: What It Might Offer?
Samsung's tri-fold device is still a mystery at least in terms of the features and hardware but a new leak has hinted at its possible launch price. The details from South Korea suggest the Samsung tri-fold price could be around $3,000 (Rs 2.56 lakh approx) which takes it into the Apple Vision Pro territory.
Huawei showed us what a tri-fold device can offer, especially when you unfold them. You get a smartphone as well as a 10-inch screen like a tablet packing into one product.
The company even offers a keyboard and other accessories to really make use of its versatility. Samsung is expected to have a similar plan for its rumoured Galaxy Fold G model, and it needs the software to be tuned and optimised to run seamlessly across all the avatars of this device. And if the product is going to cost as much, the company needs everything to be close to being perfect.
