OFFICIAL: Kaizer Chiefs release long-serving local lad
Kaizer Chiefs have released 25-year-old midfielder Sabelo Radebe.
The club has released a statement regarding the release of Sabelo Radebe. He got his first taste of senior football at the club in 2017-2028. He only had two Betway Premiership outings this season. He's only notched a total of 18 appearances for Chiefs.
'Radebe, now 25, joined Amakhosi as a teenager. He progressed through the junior ranks in the Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Academy before moving up to the reserve team in the 2017-18 season,' the statement read.
'He signed after earning a spot in the senior team in the 2020/21 season, following an impressive performance in the DStv Diski Challenge.
'Last season, he had a one-year loan spell at KwaZulu-Natal-based Richards Bay FC.'
According to FARPost, Chiefs' PSL rivals Stellenbosch won't be pursuing Asanele Velebayi as they already have a winger of a similar profile in the shape of Langelihle Phili. Velebayi's Cape Town Spurs side have been relegated to South Africa's third tier following a 15th-place finish in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Orlando Pirates DRAMA: Relebohile Mofokeng's exit nears!
Orlando Pirates fans should be wary of the latest news coming from camp Relebohile Mofokeng. The 20-year-old's father seems adamant that a move to Europe must happen. Meanwhile, the club have several clubs enquiring about one of Bafana Bafana's brightest prospects. According to reports, MLS side FC Cincinnati, Al Ahly and Zamalek FC have shown interest, while earlier in the season, European powerhouses Barcelona and Glasgow Rangers were said to be monitoring the dynamic winger. In January, Orlando Pirates rejected a R25.8 million bid from Zamalek FC – a few days ago, they placed an R31 million price tag on the star, a clear indication that they're willing to listen to offers. I don't want to see him in the Betway Premiership again this season. I know God will answer my prayers,' Sechaba, Mofokeng's father, said '[Whether it's in] Spain, England, Netherlands, France, Denmark, Switzerland — Rele can play. I believe that with all my heart. Take him to Barcelona? He can play. PSG? He can play. Any country. I'll be happy — but not Saudi Arabia,' he added. 'Not yet. He's still young. He needs to compete in UEFA competitions. If he goes to Saudi now, he won't experience that. Yes, he'd be rich — but happiness is more important. You can have all the money in the world, but if you're not happy, it's worthless.' OFFICIAL: Bafana Bafana's rising star poached by English giant!
A month after winning player of the tournament at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, Bafana Bafana prospect Tylon Smith has reportedly agreed terms with Championship side Queens Park Rangers. Hailing from Stellenbosch's academy, the 20-year-old defender is expected to soon travel to London to complete his medical. Bafana Bafana are now amongst the best top 10 teams in Africa according to the latest FIFA rankings. Image: X/BafanaBafana Bafana Bafana fans will have to wait until September 1 to cheer on their side. That day, they will take on Lesotho in matchday 7 (out of 10) of the World Cup qualifiers before facing Nigeria a week later. As things stand, South Africa lies at the top of the log, five points ahead of joint second-placed holders Rwanda and Benin. Meanwhile, head coach Hugo Broos made a wild prediction regarding the future of Bafana youngster Relebohile Mofokeng, who is heavily linked with a move abroad following another successful season for the 20-year-old. 'Talking about Mofokeng, I just hope that he makes the right decisions. And that he is not going to a team where he won't play,' said Broos. 'I see all the things around, Barcelona and Rangers and… (sighs) I'm a little bit afraid. I just hope that the people around make the choice of the best sportive solution and not the best financial solution. 'Okay, I think his parents want the best for him, that's for sure. But there is another guy who wants to win a lot of money also, but that's the problem. But ok, let's hope, maybe I talked too soon about that. 'We'll see. I think in June, Rele will not be a player of Orlando Pirates anymore, but a good choice is very important.' Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1.
