Celtic see £1.5m transfer offer for Danish winger rejected

Go Ahead Eagles have rejected a £1.5million offer from Celtic for Danish winger Jakob Breum.
The Parkhead club are in the market for wide men after selling Nicholas Kuhn to Como for £17m and losing the services of the injured Jota until early next year.
An offer for 21-year-old right sided attacker Breum fell well below the Dutch club's valuation of £5million.
Fighting off interest in Breum and midfielder Oliver Antman club director Jan Willem van Dop spoke of an offer from a 'foreign club' for the former earlier this month. Herald Sport understands the club in question was Celtic.
'The only thing that is going on and as far as we are concerned are the unsuccessful moves,' said Van Dop in an interview with RTTV Oost. 'There has been a bid for Jakob Breum from a foreign club

'We are so far apart there. You have to stand your ground. He may have to realise that it could be very good to stay with us at least until the winter break, just like Oliver Edvardsen.'
Breum moved to the Netherlands from Odense two years ago. Insisting that he had no intention of losing his coveted duo for a 'pittance' Van Dop added: 'We think that Breum and Antman should be allowed to leave for more than six million (£5million). If that doesn't happen with this club, then maybe another one will come. And if not, then we hope that with all the positive feelings they have, they will stay with us and go into Europe. Then we will see during the winter break.'
Celtic also have a long-term interest in Antwerp's Belgian winger Michel-Ange Balikwisha.
Jibril Rekkab has gone on the record saying that the player is open to the idea of joining Celtic, but claimed that negotiations had yet to kick in.

Celtic star ‘set to leave Parkhead for transfer to Hoops' Premiership rivals'

BRENDAN RODGERS is reportedly set to let one of his players join one of Celtic's Premiership rivals on loan for the season. It's been a busy window for the Scottish champions so far with plenty of ins and outs already at Parkhead. 2 Brendan Rodgers has made a decision on several of his out-of-favour stars already Credit: Getty 2 David Martindale is looking to sign one of the Rodgers' Hoops players Credit: Kenny Ramsay Six players have left the club since the beginning of the window, including Nicolas Kuhn who completed his stunning £17million move to Como this month. A few more Celtic players are expected to join him out the exit door in the coming weeks. And it could be SEVEN Hoops stars in the near future as the Daily Record claim one player is closing in on a loan move to Livingston. It's suggested that left-back Adam Montgomery is set to join David Martindale's side for the upcoming campaign. Montgomery, 23, is out of the picture at Parkhead despite being handed minutes in various friendlies in pre-season this summer. The full-back has made 20 appearances for the Hoops since his debut back in 2021, but hasn't managed to tie down a regular spot in the first team. Most of those outings came in the 2021/22 campaign under Ange Postecoglou in his first season in charge. But since then he's fallen down the pecking order and has enjoyed loan spells at Aberdeen, St Johnstone, Motherwell, Fleetwood Town and Queen's Park. He spent last season in the Championship with the Spiders, but looks set for Premiership action this coming season with the Lions. Livi boss Martindale is needing another left-back after Robbie Fraser returned to Rangers following his loan stint last term. Inside ex-Celtic and Scotland star's £3m property empire as free agent spends almost £1m on two properties in St Andrews He joined the club in January for the remainder of the campaign and impressed in the second tier, helping the Lions return to the top flight. Now Martindale has turned his attention to another Old Firm left-back to take his place. It's stated that Montgomery is set to be announced as Livi's latest summer recruit. It's believed the club are closing in on the signing of Aidan Denholm on loan from Hearts as well, while former Willem II striker Jeremy Bokila is also set to join. Ian Wright demands one England change for Euro 2025 final after huge Italy scare

England are in yet another final after a dramatic 2-1 win over Italy, with both their goals scored at the end of regular and extra time, but the Lionesses started the game poorly and Ian Wright believes they are riding their luck Ian Wright has told England they must start the Euro 2025 final much quicker after leaving it late once again to secure a dramatic 2-1 win over Italy in Wednesday night's semi-final. ‌ The Lionesses have reached their third straight final under Sarina Wiegman but they made hard work of it as a sluggish start saw Italy take a first-half lead through Barbara Bonansea. ‌ England looked like they were heading out of the tournament before Michelle Agyemang popped up with a stoppage time strike to take the game to extra time, before Chloe Kelly scored a penalty rebound minutes before the game was set to go to a shootout. ‌ It came after England came from 2-0 down to beat Sweden on penalties in the quarter-finals and Wright is concerned that their luck will soon run out in they don't assert themselves quicker against either Spain or Germany in the final. "You can't continue to rely on that," Wright told ITV. "Six semi-finals, three finals on the spin. At some stage, the luck will run out. We need to start better and get a foothold in the game. "The thing is, if it's Germany, very physical and direct, it won't suit us. Spain, they play a more technical game, it might suit us more. I'm not sure about Plan A and Plan B, we're in a final. "But we need to start games better. We take too long to start games, we need to get into that, how we can get into our stride quicker." Fellow ITV pundit Karen Carney agreed with Wright and claimed the team looked tired, calling on Wiegman to make changes to give the Lionesses some "freshness". ‌ "Sarina doesn't make many changes, but we saw tiredness today," the former England star said. "Freshness is important. "She has to look at her squad, rip it up, we need freshness to start the game. Plan A isn't working, Plan B is magnificent, we have to make changes." One change that Wiegman did make was to once again bring on Agyemang to make an impact from the bench and the teenager has now scored two vital goals at this tournament - leading to questions over whether she should now start the final. ‌ When asked if she had "forced" that decision, the Dutch coach replied: "She is not forcing me. She is very grateful to get minutes and she is very ready for it. "Her growth and development went so quickly. From not starting at Brighton to getting lots more minutes and showing how good she is, to coming into our team. It went smooth for her and she feels very good about that."
