Wiltshire in Pictures: A star visits and baking sun
The Oscar-winning actress brought a smile to patients' faces and paid tribute to the charity's donors, fundraisers and volunteers.
Meanwhile, patrons of a pub in Corsley, near Warminster, welcomed back a characterful owl – and elsewhere, our weather watchers were out capturing the best of the sunshine.
Meet me halfway: Janet Baldock has just reached the mid-point on her trek of the entire Wales Coast Path, having set out from Chester in April. Ms Baldock, from Shalbourne near Great Bedwyn, is raising money for the Support Dogs charity after learning about autism assistance dogs.
Wetting my beak: This owl is the unlikely new regular at The White Hart in Corsley. Named Arllo, he has made himself at home, visiting the pub at least once a week with his keeper.
Field of gold: The sweltering sun has shown no mercy this week – beating down on crops such as the wheat in this field in Grittleton near Castle Combe.
Parched land: On the opposite side of the county, weather watcher Nerea M captured this image of Stonehenge, where the grass is yellowing in the heat.
Moody mornings: In Upavon, weather watcher TAG caught a misty moment as the sun rose over a country path.
Toast of the village: The Chalke History Festival came to an end on Sunday after a week of talks, events and living history performances. Jane from Jane's Historical Kitchen exhibited period-appropriate crockery and showed visitors how to make a decorative pie lid.
Moving out: In another blow to Swindon town centre, it has been announced that the Swindon & Wiltshire Pride Hub will be leaving the Regent Circus shopping centre. Nando's is now the only company trading at the complex, which opened in 2014.

Olympic champion dons Trump costume for straw race
Olympic champion Alistair Brownlee took part in his first Oxenhope Straw Race, dressed as US President Donald Trump. The former triathlete, from Dewsbury, was among 600 participants in fancy dress who raced each other between six pubs whilst carrying a bale of straw on Sunday. This year marked the 50th anniversary of the event, which dates back to the 1970s when a friendly wager between two farmers over who could haul a bale of straw between pubs the fastest sparked what would become the 2.5-mile (4km) race. Organiser Robin Wright said: "The origins of this extraordinary race are just as captivating as the event itself." According to the rules, participants must stop at five pubs along the route - The Waggon and Horses, The Bay Horse, the former "Idiot Hut" social club, The Lamb, and the former Shoulder of Mutton - downing a pint at each before making the final uphill push to the finish at the Dog and Gun. Competitors vie for more than just quick times, with prizes handed out for both the fastest teams and the most creative costumes. Brownlee, who donned a Donald Trump costume, told the BBC: "I've had a long career in professional sport but also been brought up in this area doing fell races. "This has always been something that I've seen and never been able to do and now I've got the opportunity to do it, so it's great to be here at the very famous Oxenhope Straw Race." According to organisers, the event has raised more than £500,000 for charity to date. Listen to highlights from West Yorkshire on BBC Sounds, catch up with the latest episode of Look North. How to watch Summer Games Done Quick 2025
Grab your grill, your hot dogs, and your sparklers because it's time to celebrate… Summer Games Done Quick 2025. The annual speedrunning charity marathon benefitting Doctors without Borders is back starting July 6th and finishes July 12th. Here's how and most importantly what to watch as you enjoy the reason for the speedrunning season. Summer Games Done Quick 2025 starts on Sunday July 6th at 1:30 PM ET on Twitch. Games Done Quick's YouTube channel will have VODs up typically within a few short hours after the run completes so don't worry if you miss anything live. There's interesting runs every day during primetime so always check the schedule for what's going on. You should also check in during off-hours and in the middle of the day because that's how you find the hidden gems like LRock617's run of Batman Forever: The Arcade Game at AGDQ 2025. As for runs I'm excited about, there's a Blue Prince race late Monday night July 7th, a Titanfall 2 race on Wednesday July 9th, and a Balatro run I will be seated for on Friday July 11th. For this year's finale on Saturday, there will be a bonus run of Mario Kart World Knockout races and Deltarune Chapter 1 and 2. With the way I know GDQ works, I have a sneaking suspicion there will be a bonus incentive to donate towards that, if met, will unlock a run of Deltarune Chapter 3 and 4 as well. I hope I'm right. With all the tumult going on in the video game industry right now it's helpful to have something positive to turn to. That's what Summer Games Done Quick is for. And this year, it's needed more than ever as something to remind us that despite everything, video games, the people who make them, and the community, are pretty dang cool.
