PM's cost-of-living relief measures show MADANI govt resolve
ABIM president Ahmad Fahmi Mohd Samsudin expressed confidence that the initiatives, including a one-off RM100 cash payment for adults, reduced RON95 petrol prices to RM1.99 per litre, and expanded Rahmah MADANI Sales allocations, would provide immediate relief to low and middle-income groups.
'These measures reflect the government's responsiveness to the people's struggles amid rising living costs,' he said in a statement.
However, he stressed that their success hinges on 'integrity, efficient governance, and genuine concern for those in need.'
Ahmad Fahmi also highlighted the importance of the upcoming 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) in ensuring long-term impact.
'The Malaysia MADANI agenda requires strong political will, civil society engagement, and public support to succeed,' he added.
Transparency in implementation was another key point raised by ABIM.
The group pledged to remain a strategic partner in advocating for reforms aligned with social justice and good governance.
Separately, the Anwar Ibrahim Club (AIC) welcomed the announcements as proof of the government's dedication to public welfare.
'These initiatives show that the people's needs remain central to national planning,' it said, urging continued public support for reforms. – Bernama

MADANI Communities To Receive Further Details Within 24 Hours After Announcements
MELAKA, July 26 (Bernama) -- The MADANI Community nationwide will receive further details related to any announcement within 24 hours after it is made, says Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil. He said the measure was to deliver accurate information directly to the grassroots in each locality. 'For technical matters, it may be difficult, but we want the MADANI Community to get the simplest explanation,' he said at the 2025 Peninsular Malaysia MADANI Community Retreat held in conjunction with the launch of the National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang 2025 at Mini Stadium Bistari, Ayer Keroh here tonight. The retreat, attended by around 2,300 participants from 1,406 MADANI Communities, was also joined by Melaka Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Communication Committee chairman Datuk Fairul Nizam Roslan. Also present were Senior Division Secretary (Management) of the Ministry of Communications, Mazlan Abd Mutalib, and Information Department director-general Julina Johan. Meanwhile, Fahmi said among the major announcements to be made by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) on July 31. He said the tabling of a Malaysia Plan usually involved highly technical details related to the country's physical development, such as the construction of hospitals and schools. 'But within 24 hours, the MADANI Community will receive simplified explanations and breakdowns so that they can communicate the information in an easy-to-understand way to their respective communities. 'So this will be a new thing, because I want the MADANI Community to grasp and absorb any government announcement quickly,' he said.

BN-PH pact likely to continue for GE16, but may change after that, says Zahid
Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said BN is firm on continuing its alliance with PH in the run-up to the next nationwide polls despite calls for it to go solo. PETALING JAYA : While Barisan Nasional plans to continue its alliance with Pakatan Harapan in the next general election (GE16), BN chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says its strategies for elections after that may change. Zahid, the Umno president, acknowledged that there were calls for BN to contest in GE16 on its own, but said the coalition is firm on continuing its alliance with PH. However, he said BN's political strategies for the general elections that follow will be determined by the electoral performance of the parties in the alliance, Berita Harian reported. 'We do not know how many seats we will have, and how many seats they will have. 'Remember that, in Malaysia, differences in views are conventionally based on differing party 'colours'. We are willing to forget our different 'colours' for the sake of political stability,' he was quoted as saying. The Umno-led BN played a crucial role in enabling Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to form the unity government in the wake of the 2022 general election, which resulted in a hung Parliament. PH had won 81 parliamentary seats while BN won 30, in what was the latter's worst electoral performance to date.
