Auburn's Rayshawn Pleasant named to Walter Camp Preseason All-American Team

One Auburn's newest players, Rayshawn Pleasant, is named to Walter Camp Preseason All-American Team
One of Auburn's top transfers is being honored in the preseason. Cornerback Rayshawn Pleasant was named to the Walter Camp Preseason All-American Team. Pleasant is a transfer from Tulane, where he played from 2022-24. He was listed as a three-star transfer portal prospect when he committed to Auburn on April 23.
Last season for Tulane, Pleasant played in 13 games for a team that went 9-5 overall and 7-1 in the American Athletic Conference. He had 35 tackles for the Green Wave plus one interception. That lone interception occurred against Southeast Louisiana in a 52-0 win and resulted in a 100-yard return for a touchdown. Pleasant also excelled as a kick returner. Last season he had 13 returns for 449 yards and two touchdowns.
Pleasant picked up some accolades after his productive 2024 season. He was selected as an All-American and the All-AAC Second Team. Pleasant is joining a defensive backfield that features experienced players like Kayin Lee, Jay Crawford, and Kaleb Harris. With his ability as a returner, it would be a misstep for Auburn not to use Pleasant on special teams.
Before arriving at Tulane, he was a three-star recruit out of West Monroe, Louisiana. Pleasant was recruited as an athlete and was rated the No. 57 player in Louisiana. He only played in his freshman season against Nicholls State and Florida Atlantic in two games. His best game of 2024 was against Kansas State. In the 34-27 loss, he had seven tackles in the game.

Wisconsin football sees notable class of 2026 target commit to Missouri

Wisconsin football class of 2026 target, safety Tony Forney Jr., committed to Missouri on Friday. Forney chose the Tigers over a group of finalists that also included Wisconsin, Georgia, Auburn and Pittsburgh. Advertisement 247Sports lists the hotly pursued safety as a three-star recruit. He's specifically ranked as the No. 747 player in the class of 2026, the No. 67 safety and the No. 85 player from the state of Georgia. Prior to announcing his verbal commitment, Forney took official visits to Missouri on May 30 and to Wisconsin on June 13. His extensive offer sheet also included Arizona State, Duke, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kansas State, Kentucky, LSU, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and West Virginia. Forney joins a Missouri class of 2026 that currently ranks No. 72 in the nation with just 10 players committed. That group is also the 15th-ranked of 16 SEC classes, leading only Auburn (No. 84 overall, seven commitments). Wisconsin's class of 2026, meanwhile, ranks No. 43 nationally with 15 players committed. That group recently received a major boost with commitments from blue-chip offensive playmakers Jayden Petit and Amari Latimer. However, it is still the Big Ten's No. 14-ranked class at this late stage of the process. Georgia football continues recruiting surge with 4-star DL addition

The post Georgia football continues recruiting surge with 4-star DL addition appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Georgia football team is one of the hottest programs in the country right now on the recruiting trail, and it had quite a day on Monday. The Bulldogs picked up three commitments in total, with two coming from the 2026 class, and one coming from the 2027 class. The first 2026 prospect to commit to Georgia was four-star defensive lineman PJ Dean. Then later in the day, another four-star DL decided to play for Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs as Preston Carey announced his commitment. Advertisement 'BREAKING: Four-Star DL Preston Carey has Committed to Georgia, he tells me for @Rivals,' Hayes Fawcett said in a post. 'The 6'5 300 DL chose the Bulldogs over Florida, Auburn, & Rutgers.' Florida, Auburn and Rutgers were all recruiting Preston Carey hard, but they were no match for Kirby Smart and the Georgia football team. The Bulldogs are on another level on the recruiting trail right now. After announcing his commitment to Georgia, Carey had a short message to share: 'To be the best in the country, you have to play with the best in the country,' he said. Carey is a four-star recruit, according to 247Sports' composite rankings. He is the #309 player in the 2026 recruiting class, the #36 DL and the #48 player in the state of Florida. Carey currently attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. The in-state Gators recruited him hard, but Carey chose rival Georgia. Advertisement The 2026 Georgia football recruiting class is shaping up to be another special one. After this commitment from Preston Carey, the Bulldogs have the #2 recruiting class in the nation, according to 247Sports. Georgia now has commitments from one five-star, 18 four-stars and six three-stars. Kirby Smart has always been good at bringing top talent to Athens, and he is outstanding at turning those players into NFL draft picks. The Bulldogs are poised for long-term success in this new era of college football. Auburn football among finalists to land 2026 safety Craig Tutt

The 2026 safety will choose between Auburn and two other SEC programs later this month, Auburn remains in great standing with a 2026 cornerback from Tennessee as the commitment date looms. Craig Tutt, a four-star safety from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, has locked in a commitment date for Friday, July 18. Auburn remains in the running to land Tutt, joining Ole Miss and Tennessee in the three-team SEC race. In a recent interview with Rivals, Tutt says that his top three schools recruited him well, but one stands out among the mix. 'There are great opportunities at each of these schools, the coaches recruited me well at each school and it just came down to where I felt the best at," Tutt said. "One of these had everything I was looking for and needed, and that is what it came down to for me.' Is Auburn that team? Tutt raved about his visit to Auburn in June, where he says he was happy to get the chance to explore the Plains. "Oh man, it's amazing," Tutt said in an interview with Auburn Undercover. "It's completely not what I expected — it's actually more than I expected it to be. I'm excited that I got a chance to come down here and explore it all. Some things that stood out to me were Coach Freeze is very into the recruits. Even though we were here at like 10 o'clock last night and he's up here chilling with us, taking pictures and stuff like that. It's like a family here. I know none of the players here, but they welcomed me with open arms, just helping me with whatever I need. Coaches being a family here and just pushing that all on me that it's a family here, and that's true." Although Tutt enjoyed his visit to Auburn, he is projected to commit elsewhere. On3 projects Tennessee to be the winner in the Tutt sweepstakes with a 31.1% chance to land him. Ole Miss is next at 27.2%, with Auburn in third place at 23.3%. The race is tight, but Auburn remains a heavy contender with two weeks to go until the announcement is made.
