TIME PATROL (7.12 Brighton, nap)
He can notch up yet another win at his beloved Brighton. Tony Carroll's five-year-old has landed three victories from four visits to the seaside and came home quickly when just denied here last time. The handicapper has left his mark alone and he takes a drop in class which can get him back to winning ways. He gets on well with today's rider Jack Doughty and decent ground is ideal.
CRYSTAL MER (8.30 Uttoxeter, nb)
He looked a cut above when bolting up over course and distance last month and can strike again under champion jockey Sean Bowen. The six-year-old powered clear with loads in hand that day and still looks well treated for Hughie Morrison who rarely misses when targeting these races. That was his debut for the yard and there's a lot more to come.
SHADY BAY (7.42 Brighton, treble)
She caught the eye with a five-length win at Nottingham last time out. She showed a blistering turn of pace there and clearly enjoyed dropping to this distance. She is back out quickly under a 5lb penalty and has a big chance of following up under Hollie Doyle.
COMMAND THE STARS (4.25 Lingfield, Lucky 15)
He showed bundles of promise on debut and then absolutely bolted up at Beverley, pulling four lengths clear despite still running green. That performance marked him out as well above average and this step up to 7f is sure to suit given his stout Sea The Stars pedigree.

ROGUE ENDEAVOUR (7.10 Ffos Las, treble) He went down in a tight finish over a similar trip at Bath 14 days ago. He likes to go from the front and his capable claimer Elizabeth Gale is full value for her 7lb. TOMMY'S PROMISE (4.10 Yarmouth, Lucky 15) He has few miles on the clock and just over half a length away when second here last time. He is proven over this trip and looks dangerous again from his basement handicap mark of 49. Joao Pedro scores twice to lead Chelsea into CWC final
Joao Pedro scored twice on his full Chelsea debut as the Premier League side secured a place in the Club World Cup final – and a lucrative payday – with a 2-0 win over Fluminense. The Brazil forward, who only completed his £60million move from Brighton last week, struck in style in each half as Chelsea overcame his first professional club and sweltering conditions in New York on Tuesday. Their reward for victory is a chance to play for a jackpot exceeding £90m in Sunday's final against Real Madrid or Paris St Germain. Manager Enzo Maresca handed Pedro, who made his debut off the bench in the quarter-final defeat of Palmeiras, his first start in the absence of the suspended Liam Delap. It was a decision which paid very rich dividends as Chelsea battled past a Fluminense side who, captained by veteran former Blues defender Thiago Silva, had defied expectations to reach the last four. The temperature was around 34C at kick-off at MetLife Stadium and Chelsea were playing their 63rd game of a season that began last August. Yet they still made a strong start with the influential Enzo Fernandez having a shot blocked and then floating in a free-kick which Tosin Adarabioyo headed wide. Pedro Neto was also lively and it was his break down the left which led to Pedro's stunning opener on 18 minutes. Neto whipped in a cross which was cleared only as far as the former Brighton striker on the edge of the area and he brilliantly curled a shot beyond 44-year-old goalkeeper Fabio. It was a spectacular way to open his account for his new club but Pedro's celebrations were notably muted, almost apologetic, in front of the Fluminense fans. Chelsea could have immediately doubled their lead after Neto picked out Malo Gusto but the Frenchman's stooping header was straight at Fabio. They were almost made to regret that miss when Hercules broke through and rounded Robert Sanchez but Marc Cucurella cleared off the line. Chelsea had another scare when French referee Francois Letexier pointed to the penalty spot after a Fluminense cross flicked the head of Thiago Santos and then struck the arm of Trevoh Chalobah. It seemed a harsh decision and was reversed following a VAR review. Chelsea threatened again before the break when a Neto strike was deflected wide and Sanchez came to their rescue after the restart when he saved from Everaldo. Pedro struck the decisive blow on 56 minutes as Chelsea broke from deep inside their own half. Fernandez found Pedro with a superb through-ball and he cut inside Ignacio to hit a thunderous shot in off the underside of the bar. From then it became a case of seeing out the job and, although booked for time-wasting, Chelsea keeper Sanchez was not troubled. On the downside, Moises Caicedo appeared to pick up an injury in the closing stages. Nicolas Jackson could have added a third goal when he fired into the side-netting.

Brighton boss discusses selling players as Ferguson Roma link continues to grow
Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler has confirmed that he will have to sell players in order to recoup some of the €80million he has spent on signings so far this summer. And one of the players that could follow Chelsea new-boy Joao Pedro out the door is Ireland striker Evan Ferguson, with Roma's interest in the 20-year-old continuing to grow. Hurzeler spent big to bring in Charalampos Kostoulas (€35million) from Olympiacos, Maxim de Cuyper (€20million) from Club Brugge and Tom Watson (€11.5million) from Sunderland, among others. And with less than two months remaining in the transfer window, he knows that he will have to clear out some of his current players if he wants to make any more additions. He said: 'We bought a lot of players. (But) to sell some players, I think that's the next part of this process, but we knew it would be a process. 'We are quite good at how we handled things so far, and I'm very pleased with Tony (Bloom - chairman), David (Weir - technical director), and Paul (Barber - chief executive), and how they handled things. 'So I'm quite pleased how we are, how the situation is at the moment, but for sure there still have to be some things done.' Brighton received almost €70m from Chelsea for Pedro, but more money will have to come into the coffers. Roma are weighing up a €30m swoop for Ferguson, who they see as someone who can challenge Artem Dovbyk for a first-team slot. Manager Gian Piero Gasperini has other summer targets, but is believed to be open to either a loan move or permanent swoop for the Meathman. Roma's interest in Ferguson goes back two years to when Jose Mourinho was in charge. At that stage, however, Ferguson had just signed a new long-term deal at Brighton and the club was in no mood to consider offers for the Ireland striker.
