When Chunky Pandey compared his tough times in Bollywood with Amitabh Bachchan. ‘Woh kaam karta nahi, mujhe kaam milta nahi'
In the interview with Lehren, Chunky said, 'Dekho main doosre actors par bohot joke banta hoon toh maine socha ki main aap par bhi joke banao. See, I'm a big fan of Amit ji, I hope he doesn't mind, kyunki maine unke par joke nahi banaya, apne upar banaya. (I make a lot of jokes about other actors, so I thought I'd make one about myself too. I'm a big fan of Amit ji. I hope he doesn't mind because the joke wasn't about him, it was about me.)'
Clarifying further, Chunky explained that it wasn't a complete lack of offers that troubled him, but rather the kind of roles being offered. The actor said, 'Jab main keh raha tha ki mujhe kaam milta nahi, main kehna cha raha tha ki mujhe apne kisim ka kaam nahi milta. Waise mujhe rooz 2 pictures ke offer aate hai lekin woh kisim ki picture main nahi karna chahta hoon. (When I said I don't get work, I meant I don't get the kind of work I want. I get offers for two films every day, but they're not the kind I want to do.)' He added, 'You know, C-grade films jahan producer ka kuch pata nahi hai, director kaun hai aur picture aadhi banegi… kaise banegi… gareebi mein banegi… zabardasti banegi… maine aise 4-5 pictures kar chuka hoon. Main ye mistake nahi karna chahta hoon… I don't want to do this mistake again. (C-grade films where you don't even know who the producer is, the director is unknown, and the film might not even be completed. If it gets made at all, it's made under poor conditions, forcibly. I've done four or five such films already. I don't want to repeat that mistake.)'

Summing it up, Chunky said, 'So I'm not working because I don't want to work, so I'm in the same position as Amitabh Bachchan.'
In the same interview, Chuky Pandey also addressed the perception that he couldn't act, a tag that had followed him at times early in his career. 'Non-actor toh kabhi kisi ne nahi kaha. Haan, kabhi kabhi maine 32 retake diye… kabhi confusion hua… (No one has ever called me a non-actor. Yes, sometimes I've had to do 32 retakes… sometimes there was confusion…)' He insisted, 'No one has said that Chunky Pandey was bad in their film. Everybody has said he was average, he was good, has improved… he was better.'
Reflecting on his journey, Chunky shared his thoughts on how playing a traditional hero can be limiting compared to character roles. 'Woh kya hota hai when you do a regular hero… there is very little scope. Kyunki hero good good rehta hai, insaaf ke liye ladhta hai, apni maa ke liye ladhta hai, apni behen ke liye ladhta hai… you get stuck in a formula (When you play a regular hero, there's very little scope. The hero is always good, fighting for justice, for his mother, for his sister… you get stuck in a formula),' he said. 'But when you do a character role like I did in Tezaab, Lootere, toh uss mein variations aa jaata hai… ek scope milta hai kuch karne ka. (But when you play character roles like I did in Tezaab and Lootere, it gives you variety—it gives you the scope to do something.)'

Actor Shilpa Shirodkar, who made her debut in films with Ramesh Sippy's Bhrashtachar opposite Mithun Chakraborty, went on to star in several hit films like Hum, Khuda Gawah, Aankhen, among others. Despite being a known face in the Hindi film industry, Shilpa walked away from the limelight at the peak of her career and chose a quiet life abroad with her husband Aparesh Ranjit after marriage. In a recent interaction, Shilpa opened up about her decision and how she doesn't regret any part of it. Talking about quitting the film industry when she was at the top of her game, she told Pinkvilla, 'I don't regret taking a break. I miss being busy, but I married such a sweet, nice and simple man and that was important for me to start my life. Unfortunately, I left India and which is why it was difficult for me to continue working. If I would have gotten married in India, I would have hundred percent continue working.' Shilpa admitted that she never wanted to never feels Mumbai — let alone the country — but her perspective changed after meeting her now-husband for the first time. She agreed to follow him overseas. Talking about the same, she said, 'It was an easy decision. When it is your choice, things are very easy. It was my choice. I never wanted to leave Mumbai as I was very close to my parents, but then I met my husband and within one and a half day, I said yes to him knowing that he is not going to be in India, he is going to go abroad to study. So the bottom line was that I would also be leaving India. I just liked his honesty so much that I didn't even think what am I doing. Everything fell in place.' Shilpa also reflected on the contrast in their educational qualifications — her being a Class 10 dropout and her husband a double MBA — but said she never felt small or inferior in front of him. 'I am a 10th fail. My husband is a banker. He is a double MBA and he is very well read and very different. I can talk to him and his colleagues about everything and the life that I have seen with him, I never felt small in front of him,' she said. When asked if she got any film offers after her marriage, she said, 'At that time, it wasn't the space when women would get rules after marriage, so I don't think anybody reached out to me, and I wasn't such a big star also. I don't think I was so popular that people wanted me to come back. People were also happy ki gayi toh gayi there are many others.' Shilpa admitted that moving abroad, navigating life without friends, and learning to live on a budget shaped her as a person.

The film, which also starred Suresh Oberoi, Sudha Chandran, Mohnish Bahl, Aruna Irani, Gulshan Grover, and Prem Chopra, became the centre of controversy when whispers of Shilpa's supposed on-set death began circulating during its shoot. Reflecting on the incident in a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Shilpa recounted the moment panic unfolded back home. 'I was in Kullu Manali. My dad was trying to call the hotel because we didn't have mobile phones at that time. I was shooting with Suniel Shetty there. Everyone who was watching the shoot there kept thinking if this is Shilpa or someone else because they knew the news," she recalled. The chaos didn't end there. Upon returning to her room after the day's shoot, she was greeted by a flurry of unanswered calls. 'When I came back to the room, there were around 20-25 missed calls. My parents were worried, there was a headline in a newspaper that Shilpa Shirodkar was shot dead," she shared.
