Shay Mitchell on life after Pretty Little Liars: 'Everything's different now'
Now 37 and a mother of two, Mitchell says her priorities have shifted significantly since the show wrapped in 2017.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE, Mitchell reflected on how much has changed. 'The show was definitely a different period in my life. I wasn't a mom. I really just had the show to focus on,' she said. Now, her time is split between being a mom to daughters Atlas and Rome, managing multiple businesses, and serving as the new global ambassador for OGX's Bond Protein Repair Collection.
'Between work, mom life and everything in between, I don't really have time to kind of just have that whole self-care day for myself,' Mitchell explained. 'Now everything has to be priorities, and I really have to make the most use out of my time.'
Despite moving on professionally, Mitchell looks back on Pretty Little Liars with affection. 'Those were really fun days,' she shared. 'It was just a very different period in my life.'
Mitchell also continues to value her bond with former co-stars, especially Troian Bellisario and Ashley Benson. 'That friendship will be one we'll have for a lifetime,' she said, adding that Bellisario has been a supportive source of parenting advice.
Mitchell's journey post-PLL showcases a thoughtful evolution from teen drama star to multi-faceted mom, businesswoman, and advocate for self-care.

Bhad Bhabie sued by American Express for $674K in unpaid charges
Rapper and internet personality Bhad Bhabie, born Danielle Bregoli, is facing a lawsuit from American Express over alleged unpaid credit card charges totaling $674,452.40. According to court documents filed on July 2, 2025, in Los Angeles County Superior Court and obtained by PEOPLE, American Express claims the 22-year-old breached a credit agreement after failing to make the required payments on her account. The company states that it extended credit to Bregoli in April 2021, but she stopped making payments around December 19, 2024. The lawsuit alleges that Bregoli agreed to repay all charges, fees, and interest either in full or through monthly payments. The credit card account, partially identified as XXXX‑XXXX‑X5000, was used for purchases and cash advances, according to the filing. American Express is now seeking damages for breach of contract. Representatives for both Bhad Bhabie and American Express have not responded to media requests for comment at the time of reporting. The lawsuit surfaces shortly after Bregoli's recent interview with Interview Magazine, in which she spoke openly about earning substantial income through her OnlyFans account. According to a screenshot shared in 2024, Bregoli claimed to have grossed over $71 million on the platform since joining in April 2021. Despite her financial success in recent years, the American Express lawsuit suggests significant financial management concerns for the rapper.
