Israeli strike on al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza City kills journalists
According to local sources, the attack on Thursday morning came with no prior warning of the bombing.
The Israeli assault has so far claimed the lives of correspondent Suleiman Hajjaj and photographer Ismail Badah, who both worked for Palestine Today TV, alongside photographer Samir al-Rifai, who worked for the Shams News Agency.
Journalist Imad Daloul, who works for Palestine Today TV, and photographer Ahmed Qaljah, who works for Al-Arabiya TV, were also critically injured in the Israeli attack and have been rushed to the intensive care unit.
Footage online shows bodies scattered across the courtyards of the Al-Ahli Hospital, otherwise known as the Baptist Hospital, as Palestinians attempt to aid one another.

Reporters told MEE that Israeli warplanes targeted the hospital's courtyards as journalists were covering the events on the ground.
Hamas released a statement condemning a "new war crime" by Israel.
"This is part of a systematic Zionist policy targeting Palestinian journalists to silence their voices, deter them from covering the occupation's crimes in Gaza, and obliterate its just narrative of the enemy's horrific crimes against our Palestinian people," the group said.
"This crime constitutes a complex war crime, as it assassinated journalists protected under the Geneva Conventions and all international conventions, and bombed a civilian hospital protected under international law.
"This reflects the insistence of the criminal government of Benjamin Netanyahu to expand the scope of its crimes of genocide against the Palestinian people and its blatant disregard for the international community and its legal and humanitarian system."
'Worst-ever conflict' for journalists
Thursday's killing of journalists is the latest in a wave of deadly Israeli attacks on Palestinian media workers.

According to a report published last month by the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs, Israel's war on Gaza since October 2023 has "killed more journalists than the US Civil War, World Wars I and II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War (including the conflicts in Cambodia and Laos), the wars in Yugoslavia in the 1990s and 2000s, and the post-9/11 war in Afghanistan, combined".
"In 2023, a journalist or media worker was, on average, killed or murdered every four days. In 2024, it was once every three days," said the report.
"Most reporters harmed or killed, as is the case in Gaza, are local journalists."
The Israeli military has frequently justified its attacks on civilian sites in Gaza, including hospitals, by alleging that Hamas uses them for military operations.
The latest Israeli assault brings the number of journalists killed since 7 October 2023 to 225, Arab48 reported.
Overall, Israeli forces have killed more than 54,607 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since the start of the war and wounded 125,341 others.

Writers group accuses New York Times of being 'accomplice to the genocide in Gaza'
A new dossier released by a coalition of media workers has accused The New York Times of systemic pro-Israel and anti-Palestinian bias, and alleged that nearly two dozen of its top journalists, editors and executives have extensive ties to pro-Israel lobbying groups. "The New York Times is an accomplice to the genocide in Gaza, serving as a mouthpiece for American imperialism and shaping elite consensus around foreign policy," a statement from the group Writers Against the War on Gaza (Wawog) reads. Like several mainstream news outlets, the NYT has come under intense scrutiny over its reporting of the war on Gaza, with several human rights activists and analysts accusing the publication of providing cover for Israeli war crimes. The dossier, released on Wednesday, argues that the NYT's coverage could be explained by the extensive material, financial and ideological connections between several current and former employees at the paper and the Israeli state or the army. The dossier also outlined other levels of ideological and material ties, including relationships with the pro-Israel lobbying groups and think tanks. "Our dossier so far covers mostly material ties to occupation and apartheid, but we also include and discuss ideological ties, which we've updated the dossier to reflect," a spokesperson for Wawog told Middle East Eye. The group said its findings, extracted from the archives of Mondoweiss and The Electronic Intifada, as well as through interviews with Palestinian journalists, demonstrate "how the Times' vaunted code of conduct amounts to a racist double standard". UAE condemns Israeli plan to seize control of Ibrahimi Mosque

ICJP writes to UK authorities over woman threatened with arrest for opposing genocide
The International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP) has written to a local police authority and the UK Home Secretary, demanding a formal investigation as to why a woman was threatened with arrest on terror charges for holding up anti-genocide signs, after rejecting that she supported proscribed organisations when asked. ICJP said armed police threatened peaceful protester Laura Murton, 42, for holding a Palestinian flag and having signs saying 'Free Gaza' and 'Israel is committing genocide'. She was threatened with arrest under terrorism laws, despite not saying anything or holding any signs that denoted support for any proscribed groups. When explicitly asked if she supported any proscribed organisations, she replied 'I do not.' ICJP said on Friday that it had brought a formal complaint to Kent Police, asking for clarity regarding the conduct of officers who attempted to make unfounded allegations against Murton for her protest. It also asked the Home Secretary for clarity on what guidance the Home Office has issued to police officers regarding protests that do not relate to Palestine Action, a group that was recently proscribed by the UK government. "This incident represents the sought chilling effect on speech and assembly of those who wish to speak out against Israel's violations of international law, that arises from misuse and misinterpretation of terror laws since the proscription of Palestine Action," ICJP said. It accused UK authorities of misusing the ban "to police the support for Palestine more generally, and any opposition to Israel's genocide in Gaza".
