(Photos) HK Actress Louise Lee Dons Kebaya & Meets Actor Liu Wai Hung During Recent Malaysia Trip
In the past few days, the TVB star has been posting about her stay in Malaysia. In her first post, dated 16th July 2025 (Wednesday), the actress posed with the King of Fruits, durian. Louise revealed in her captions that she visited a durian farm where she indulged in different varieties of the fruit, including the famed Musang King. Seeing that this was her first post about her trip, many local fans extended warm welcomes to the star.
Besides indulging in durian, Louise Lee also made time to meet some old friends, including former co-star Liu Wai Hung (廖伟雄). The Hong Kong actor is now based in Malaysia and recently opened a Cantonese restaurant in Kuala Lumpur. In her Instagram post, Louise said she visited the restaurant and got to catch up with Liu Wai Hung, whom she last met 30 years ago while filming the TVB sitcom, 'Three In A Family'.
In her most recent post from 23rd July 2025 (Wednesday), Louise showed off her hotel room from her stay, believed to be in Melaka. As each room comes with a private pool, the 74-year-old said she can easily go for a dip whenever she pleases. In the same post, the actress also shared photos of her donning a blue baju kebaya. Louise also revealed that she did a small busking session during her trip, singing for some lucky passersby.
Through her Instagram Stories, Louise also shared a compilation of selfies she took during her trip. Many Malaysians have since reacted to the posts, extending gratitude towards the actress for visiting Malaysia. Some also hoped she enjoyed her stay, requesting that she share more photos and videos from her trip. Additionally, in her post with Liu Siu Hung, some fans expressed happiness and nostalgia at the reunion.
It's unclear whether Louise is still in Malaysia or if she's returned to Hong Kong. Nevertheless, we hope that Louise enjoyed her Malaysian holiday and that she has plans to return soon.

Scent is one of the most personal aspects of your beauty routine – and increasingly, fragrance lovers aren't settling for just one signature note. You may have seen social media users sharing their favourite layering scents online, while perfume companies are coming out with edits of their favourite fragrance combinations. As many begin to personalise their fragrance wardrobe, there seems to be fewer rules and more freedom. But how do you master the technique without going nose-blind? And are there really no rules? Industry insiders, including British perfumer Jo Malone, explain how to do scent layering the right way, without overwhelming the room. Why you should layer your scents At its simplest, scent layering is an easy way to build up and add depth to your fragrance. 'To make your fragrance last longer, try layering a scented body creme first, layered with your perfume of choice,' says Jo Malone, founder of the self-named cosmetics company. 'This always has a long-lasting impact.' There's also an emotional side to it. Layering fragrance, for many, is a form of creativity – just like piecing together an outfit. 'It's a way to shift your mood, amplify your presence, or create something completely your own,' says founder of Who Is Elijah, Raquel Bouris, whose high-street fragrance recently went viral after US influencer Sofia Richie Grainge purchased it. How to get it right (without overdoing it) Starting with moisture is a tried-and-true method to get your scents to stick to something. A well-hydrated base gives scent something to cling to, improving projection and staying power. 'Applying a scented body lotion first, followed by an eau de toilette, will help hold the fragrance for longer,' Malone advises. Placement matters too. Le Monde Gourmand's executive vice president MarieAnna Ferdinand suggests applying different fragrances to different pulse points – behind the knees, on the wrists or the neck – to create subtle shifts as the scent develops. 'I like to start with the warmer or richer scent first and apply to my pulse points,' she says. 'I let it dry down for a moment before applying the next fragrance.' As with clothing, contrast creates interest. One of Bouris's go-to tricks is to 'let one scent lead and the other support', explaining that 'when both are fighting for attention, the magic gets lost'. That balance – such as smokey paired with crisp or soft with sharp – is where the most wearable results tend to lie. How to pair fragrance families Citrus and woods are a timeless pairing, and musks tend to blend well with almost everything. Malone recommends staying within a single family if you're not sure where to start. 'Most people are attracted to either woody, citrus or floral scents, so that's a good starting point. 'If unsure, I would recommend combining perfumes from the same family so you can be sure the notes will complement each other.' There are four distinct fragrance families: Floral, citrus, woody and oriental. Floral scents often work well with citrus, whilst warm, woody scents can easily be enhanced by spicy oriental scents or sweet florals. It's best to avoid layering two heavy or distinctive scents – like oud with gourmand – as they can overpower each other. 'Your signature scent should remind you of memories and will always tell a personal story.' But for bolder combinations, which the experts deem as fail-safes, rely on the seasons. Ferdinand suggests: 'For summer, try layering a salty perfume with Creme Vanille and something floral.' While you may reach for for fresh citrus or aquatic notes while it's warm, come autumn, combining rich amber with oud or leathery notes will add warmth and depth. It's important to remember that different fragrances have varying longevity. Some might fade quickly, while others linger longer on the skin. When layering, think about the staying power of each scent. Start with a long-lasting base fragrance like oud or vanilla and top it with a lighter, more fleeting scent like lavender or jasmine. – dpa

Outdoor filming began at City Hall and the Esplanade seafront here yesterday, with additional shoots scheduled at several well-known attractions until Monday. The 14 finalists will wear traditional Nyonya attire and participate in a swimsuit segment, with local cuisine tasting sessions included in the itinerary. TVB stars Benjamin Yuen Wai-ho and Moon Lau Pui-yuet are also in town, joining the shoot as special guests. Yuen, who won the Mr Hong Kong title 17 years ago, hoped the contestants would enjoy the experience despite the tight schedule and challenges. 'The process will be tough and challenging, but it will be valuable for growth and learning,' he said. Yuen added he was glad to be part of the shoot and looked forward to relaxing and sampling local food. Lau, who was crowned second runner-up in the Miss Hong Kong Pageant 2013, said the contestants should not shy away from expressing themselves. 'Since I do not have to participate in the swimsuit segment, I will gladly 'take on' more of the local food on behalf of the contestants,' she said jokingly when met outside the City Hall yesterday. Welcoming them on-site was Penang tourism and creative economy committee chairman Wong Hon Wai. He said the Miss Hong Kong pageant, which began in 1946 and organised by TVB since 1973, is one of the most recognised beauty contests in the Chinese-speaking world. 'Its decision to film in Penang shows the state's growing appeal as an international filming destination. 'This is a historic moment. We see it as a chance to showcase Penang's cultural depth and modern appeal to audiences worldwide,' he was quoted as saying by state publisher Buletin Mutiara. Wong said the filming was made possible through collaboration between the Penang government and Hong Kong-based budget airline HK Express, following several weeks of discussions. He added that HK Express would double its daily flights between Hong Kong and Penang starting Oct 26. This followed a promotional campaign in late June, when Wong led a Penang delegation to Hong Kong under the theme 'Penang: Not the Penang You Know' to showcase the state's diverse cultural and tourism offerings.
