The Fairphone 6 launched last month with an expanded modular design, a better chipset, and a larger battery compared to its predecessor. This is still no flagship Android smartphone, but its key selling point isn't performance or battery life, it's repairability.
Thus, you might be interested to find out what the folks over at iFixit have to say about it - after all, they've been championing people's right to self-repair their devices for years, and Fairphone itself is also all about giving people that option. It's all good news for the Fairphone 6, as iFixit has found it to be the most repairable handset yet.
So, it was awarded a perfect 10 out of 10 repairability score, something that mainstream smartphone brands can only dream of, but have never achieved. Fairphone has already made parts and repair manuals available for the Fairphone 6, which it promises will get at least seven major Android updates and at least eight years of security patches. That's important because a phone being easy to repair is kind of pointless if its software isn't supported past a year or two.
The entire phone uses only T5 Torx screws, so one screwdriver is enough to get to any component. Speaking of which, obviously all of the various bits and pieces are very easy to replace - this includes the battery, cameras and the screen as well as the USB port. Weekly poll results: the vivo X200 FE is a hit
The vivo X200 FE has a big presence for such a small phone – looking at the results from last week's poll, this could be the best mini flagship out there. And yes, it's a mini flagship, less than 5% of voters had issues with the size. Many still haven't made up their minds and are waiting for a review (ours is coming soon). It doesn't help that vivo hasn't confirmed the global pricing yet. That said, the majority of voters are showing strong interest towards the FE. It will compete against the likes of the OnePlus 13s (but the X200 FE wins by default in Europe) and Xiaomi 15 (but that one is certainly the more expensive model). Only around 10% of voters think they can get better value with some other small flagship. That is not to say that the vivo X200 FE didn't have its critics. The 8MP ultra-wide is a letdown for some (the vivo X200 Pro mini has a 50MP UW sensor) as was the USB 2.0 port. The proper launch of the vivo X200 FE (and X Fold5) is scheduled for July 14 for India, so stay tuned for pricing info.

Google Messages profiles could be close to receiving a Material 3 Expressive face lift
Google has been adding a dash of the Material 3 Expressive design to several apps as part of the Android 16 QPR1 beta program. These changes will presumably reach stable Android 16 Pixel users when the next Pixel Feature Drop occurs in September. The latest Material 3 Expressive sighting shows that Google is preparing to make some Material 3 Expressive design changes to the Google Messages profile page. Found in Google Messages v20250701 beta is code that brings Material 3 Expressive to the buttons on the profile page. The buttons under the person's phone number on the profile page are changed from circles to pill or lozenge-shaped. These buttons will be highlighted and also change their shape and get wider when you press on them. When your finger is removed from the buttons, they revert back to their original size and shape. While the code was discovered in the latest Google Messages release, it is not available yet for users even those who are Google Messages beta users. Even though my Pixel 6 Pro is running the correct version of Google Messages, it is not showing the new feature as I write this. By the way, my Pixel 6 Pro is running Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2.1. The buttons getting the Material 3 face lift are Call, Video, Contact Info, and Search.
