Formed in 2019, NIKO NIKO TAN TAN is a creative mixed media unit that transcends genres to fuse music, visuals, and art into a unique artistic experience.
The music is created by:
VJ and artwork are produced by Drug Store Cowboy (Visuals / Art Director / Motion Graphics), who serves as the unit's visual producer.
They create their own music, visuals, and art with a genre-defying approach to their alternative sound that seamlessly blends diverse elements without boundaries, making them a true 'mixture' unit that births unique and creative soundscapes through their multidisciplinary vision.
They have also built a strong following through numerous appearances at major festivals, including FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL, SUMMER SONIC, GREENROOM BEACH, OSAKA GIGANTIC MUSIC FESTIVAL, and more.
In April 2024, they officially debuted under Victor Entertainment / Getting Better. Their first two-man tour across Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, including a show at Zepp Shinjuku (TOKYO), was sold out.
In August 2024, they released their first major album, Shinkigeki, followed by the NIKO NIKO TAN TAN ONE-MAN TOUR 2024 'Shinkigeki,' which toured six cities nationwide.
The year 2025 is being celebrated as the 'Niko Niko Year' (a play on the numbers 2 and 5), and on the once-in-a-century date 2/5/2025 (Wed) — or '2-5-2-5" — they will hold a special two-man live performance with TESTSET (Yoshinori Sunahara × LEO Imai × Kenichi Shirane × Seiichi Nagai) at Zepp Shinjuku (TOKYO).

A Manga Is Causing Earthquake Panic in Japan

Scientists agree that precise predictions of a time, place, and magnitude is not possible with current technologies. Yet a years-old Japanese manga that claims a 'megaquake'—those above a magnitude of 8.0 on the Richter scale—will strike on July 5 has generated panic and deterred some inbound travelers for the past several months. The 2021 reprint of The Future I Saw by Ryo Tatsuki, a retired mangaka in her 70s, warns that a 'huge' tsunami 'three times the size' of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake will wash over countries in the Pacific Ocean. The first edition of the manga, published in 1999, had referred to a 'great disaster' in March 2011 that coincided with the earthquake that killed more than 18,000 people and caused the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant disaster. Last month, Tatsuki appeared to scale back her prediction about a July 5 megaquake, telling the national newspaper Sankei that it may not happen. But she fell short of entirely withdrawing her warning. TIME has reached out to Tatsuki for comment. The 2021 reprint has sold more than 1 million copies in Japan, and social media content that has racked up millions of views is fueling the scientifically unfounded fears. In recent weeks, two Hong Kong-based airlines alone have cut down on flights to southern Japan due to lower passenger interest. 'We are surprised that such rumors have led to cancellations,' the Tokushima Tourism promotion division said. The Japanese government has warned about earthquake speculation. In April, it released a statement that, 'predicting earthquakes by specifying the date, time, and location is difficult with current scientific knowledge.' Last month, Japan Meteorological Agency director-general Ryoichi Nomura said in a news conference that it was 'regrettable that people are being affected by baseless information in this age of modern science.' Japan has long been a hotbed of seismic activity due to its position in the Pacific Ring of Fire. In August, JMA issued an advisory that 'the likelihood of a new major earthquake is higher than normal' in relation to the Nankai Trough, a 560 mi. oceanic trench to Japan's south. Earthquakes arising from the Nankai Trough are as the geologists Kyle Bradley and Judith A. Hubbard put it, 'the original definition of the 'Big One.'' Earlier this year, a government panel issued a report stating that a megaquake along the Nankai Trough has an 80% chance of happening in the next 30 years. Under the worst-case scenario, as many as 298,000 people could die, the report added. Japan experiences about 1,500 earthquakes a year, almost a fifth of the global total. The country has spent decades putting earthquake preparedness plans in place. Given the history and frequency of earthquakes in Japan, concern is understandable. But JMA's Nomura has 'strongly' urged the 'public not to take irrational actions driven by anxiety.' JMA remains a reliable source of information about earthquakes in Japan, as are the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the British Geological Survey (BGS), and the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) in their respective regions. Three Essex charities announced as partners for big music festival next week
THREE charities have been named to support an inaugural Essex festival which will see many famous faces perform across a string of dates. Chelmsford City Live, a new music festival, is taking place next week at Chelmsford City Racecourse from July 4 until July 6. The festival is a partnership between Chelmsford City Racecourse and Live Nation promoters Cuffe and Taylor, and will feature headline performances from Justin Timberlake, Duran Duran, and Olly Murs. In March, the event organisers encouraged charity groups to apply to become a partner for each day of the festival. Now it has been revealed the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity in Chelmsford will partner with the festival on July 4, the night Justin Timberlake headlines. All three charities will fundraise on site during the festival. Paris Fashion week glorified violent convicts and gang members, so edgy! I'm Tomi Lahren, more next. I don't take Fashion Week too seriously. Most of the clothing displayed is overpriced weird stuff that no one remotely normal would wear in real life. But a Mexican-American designer I've never heard of, Willy Chavarria, took that concept and kicked it up a notch. His exhibition in collaboration with the ACLU showcased models seemingly dressed to resemble the gang members housed in El Salvador's notorious CECOT prison. This stunt wasn't done to showcase clothing, but to send a worthless virtue signal about the treatment of murderers, rapists, and violent gang bangers in custody at CECOT. This designer also made his fashion show invites to look an immigration summons in a presentation of 'humanity.' It caught the eye of El Salvador's president who issued a scathing retort on X and generously offered to send the violent inmates to Paris!
