Naseeruddin Shah's support for Diljit Dosanjh amid Sardaar Ji 3 controversy shows his ‘frustration': Ashoke Pandit

Actor Naseeruddin Shah defended actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh amid the controversy surrounding Sardaar Ji 3, and his collaboration with Pakistani actor Hania Aamir. After facing backlash, he has now deleted the post from his Facebook account. Meanwhile, filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, who serves as the president of the Indian Film & Television Directors' Association, has slammed the veteran actor for his statement and said that he suffers from 'frustration'. (Also read: Naseeruddin Shah defends Diljit Dosanjh for working with Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3: 'They were awaiting…') Naseeruddin Shah deleted his statement supporting Diljit Dosanjh amid the Sardaar Ji 3 row.
In the now-deleted post, Naseeruddin had stated, 'I STAND FIRMLY WITH DILJIT. The dirty tricks deptt of Jumla Party has been awaiting a chance to attack him. They think they've got it at last. He was not responsible for the casting of the film, the director was. But no one knows who he is whereas Diljit is known the world over, and he agreed to the cast because his mind is not poisoned.'
Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit has called out Naseeruddin's statement and responded to news agency ANI. He said, 'We are not surprised, not shocked, by Naseeruddin Shah's response to Diljit Dosanjh's entire episode. He calls us the Jumla party, he calls us goons. The educated, versatile actor, senior person in the industry, calling us goons proves the frustration and kind of restlessness of Naseeruddin Shah.'
He went on to add, 'For us, our country comes first. So, our response to the entire episode, our response to the entire film Sardar 3, according to us is right. Let me tell you Naseer sahab, we have taken a call of issuing a non-cooperation against Diljeet and we have already issued.'
Earlier, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) and Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) have called for ban on Diljit and all his upcoming projects. The backlash comes in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, followed by India's Operation Sindoor on May 7, in which air strikes were carried out on terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Aamir Khan says Paki cricketer Javed Miandad ruined his wedding with Reena Dutta, put him in depression: ‘I said Javed bhai aapne theek nahi kiya'

Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta were neighbours when they first met each other. Soon, love blossomed between the two. However, when Reena's parents found out about their affair, they made her promise to never meet the actor. This made things difficult for the couple. To overcome their fear of losing each other due to parents' objection, the young love birds decided to secretly tie the knot in a court marriage. Aamir Khan patiently waited to turn 21 when he found out that it was necessary for the man to be 21 to legally get married. On March 14, he turned 21. A few days later, they tied the knot. In a conversation with The Lallantop, Aamir Khan shared details about the day he got married to Reena Dutta and how Pakistani cricketer Javed Miandad ruined his wedding. The actor said both he and Reena were scared to return home after their big step. 'Mujhe laga sab puchenge kaha the itni der (We thought our families will question us about being so late),' said Aamir Khan. But, luckily, it was a day when India had a match against Pakistan and everyone in their families were so engrossed in the match that they never noticed Aamir or Reena's absence. However, the match put Aamir Khan in depression. The actor recalled, 'It was India-Pakistan match day. The same match where Javed Miandad hit a six on the last ball. We were winning that match so nobody cared to ask us about our absence for so long. I too joined them and was watching cricket, however, Javed's six ruined it all. Once I happened to meet him on the flight when I told him, 'Javed bhai aapne theek nahi kiya. Aapne meri shadi barbaad kardi (You ruined my wedding). He was like, 'Kaise? (How)' I said, 'Usi din aapne chakka mara tha. Depression mein chala gaya tha mai. (Your six put me in depression.)'' YouTube channels of Shoaib Akhtar, 2 other former Pakistani cricketers again viewable in India

The YouTube channels of former Pakistani cricketers Shoaib Akhtar, Basit Ali, and Rashid Latif are again accessible in India, nearly three months after the central government blocked several Pakistani social media accounts following the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Soon after the April 22 attack that claimed 26 lives, the three channels had shown messages indicating their unavailability in India. The government had banned Pakistani artists across the media. On April 28, the government banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels–with about 63.08 million subscribers in total–for disseminating 'provocative content, false narratives and misinformation' against India, its Army and security agencies. The decision was based on recommendations made by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The 16 YouTube channels continue to remain blocked. However, the Instagram accounts of Pakistani actresses Mawra Hocane and Saba Qamar are now accessible in India. On Tuesday, several Instagram users reported being able to view their profiles. The Instagram accounts of other Pakistani celebs like Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir, Fawad Khan, and Atif Aslam, as well as the YouTube account of former cricketer Tanvir Ahmed remain banned. Hania Aamir is in the news for her casting in Diljit Dosanjh's Sardaar Ji 3. Naseeruddin Shah shares cryptic post after facing backlash over now-deleted remarks supporting Diljit Dosanjh

Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah deleted his post defending Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh amid controversy over collaboration with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his movie Sardaar Ji 3 after heavy backlash. However, the veteran actor shared a cryptic post a day later, saying, 'It is almost impossible to carry the torch of truth through a crowd without singeing somebody's beard.' He attributed the quote to Georg Christoph Lichtenberg, scientist and philosopher (1 Jul 1742-1799). The quote loosely means that speaking or standing up for the truth is likely to upset or offend someone, even if that's not the intention. The actor, however, did not directly address the backlash over his Facebook post or his support for Diljit Dosanjh. Naseeruddin Shah was heavily criticised by BJP leaders and some Bollywood filmmakers for his stance on the Sardaar Ji 3 controversy. BJP MLA Ram Kadam termed Shah's remarks anti-Hindu and sought a public apology from the veteran actor. He said the actor had hurt the sentiments of crores of Hindus and sought a public apology from him. 'Why is Naseeruddin Shah equating Kailasa with Pakistan?' Kadam said, referring to Shah's post asking those who say 'Go to Pakistan', to 'Go to Kailasa'. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit also criticised the actor's post, saying that the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) was 'not surprised, not shocked' by Naseeruddin Shah's response to Diljit Dosan's controversy. 'He calls us Jumla party, he calls us goons. The educated, versatile actor, senior person in the industry, calling us goons proves the frustration and kind of restlessness of Naseeruddin Shah,' said Ashoke Pandit, referring to Shah's post calling the attack on Diljit 'dirty tricks department of Jumla Party'. 'It's very sad that I have to, on behalf of the Federation of Western India's senior employees, I have explain to him the real situation between Pakistan and India,' he added. FWICE has issued a 'non-cooperative directive' to Diljit Dosanjh over the Sardaar Ji 3 controversy. 'I STAND FIRMLY WITH DILJIT. The dirty tricks deptt of Jumla Party has been awaiting a chance to attack him. They think they've got it at last. He was not responsible for the casting of the film, the director was. But no one knows who he is, whereas Diljit is known the world over, and he agreed to the cast because his mind is not poisoned,' Naseeruddin Shah's deleted post read. 'What these goons want is to put an end to personal interaction between the people of India and Pakistan. I have close relatives and some dear friends there and no one can stop me from meeting them or sending them love whenever i feel like it,' he further wrote, adding, 'And my response to those who will say, 'Go to Pakistan', is 'GO TO KAILASA'.'
