Julie Anne San Jose, Gabbi Garcia, Jillian Ward, more Kapuso stars share preparations for GMA Gala 2025
In Nelson Canlas' report in "24 Oras" Wednesday, several stars shared what to watch for in their outfits at this year's gala.
Julie Anne San Jose teased that she'll be going for something "classic but sophisticated."
"Every year naman talaga kailangan. 'Yun na muna 'yung description para pag ano na, pasabog 'di ba?"
Gabbi Garcia and Andrea Torres, for their part, will be trying something new in their outfits.
"I've never worn this color for gala ever, so medyo hindi ako black and white this year kasi most of the time neutrals ako, so abangan nila kung ano ba 'yung kulay na susuotin ko," said Gabbi.
"Meron na kaming idea, pero ginagawa pa lang 'yung damit. Excited ako for it kasi gusto naming medyo maiba naman ako dun sa mga napakita namin last three years na nag gala tayo," Andrea also shared. .
Kyline Alcantara shared that her gown at this year's gala will be extravagant: "It's gonna be something else, promise, I'm so excited for all of you to see it 'cause I'm just so proud of my team that they saw this dress and there, I bought it."
As for Shuvee Etrata, she and her team are still finishing her look. Meanwhile, if Kylie Padilla went for sexy in her number last year, she said that this year's will be "hotter" and in a different color.
Sanya Lopez, on the other hand, cannot decide yet if she wants to go for a demure or a sexy look this year.
"Dalawang gown 'yung pinagpipilian ko and nalilito ako kung ano yung pinakagusto ko, isang pa demure at isang hotter. Syempre pinag-iisipan ko pa kung anong babagay sa tema," Sanya explained.
Jillian Ward, for her part, shared that she isn't preparing that much for her outfit.
"Para sa'kin mas excited lang po talaga ako for the night itself, excited po talaga ako is makita 'yung mga kaibigan ko sa industry," she said.
"Feisty" is the word that Sofia Pablo used to describe her gala look this year, while Elle Villanueva gown will be designed by her uncle, who is based in Dubai.
"Very big thing 'to sa amin dahil napakagaling niyang designer so 'yun 'yung pinaka excited ako," said Elle.
GMA Gala 2025 will be held on August 2 and is expected to be a big event as GMA Network marks its 75th anniversary this year.
The star-studded GMA Gala is a fundraiser for the Kapuso Foundation, which will benefit various charitable organizations. Last year, the proceeds from GMA Gala 2024 were donated to Typhoon Carina victims through the foundation.

Founded in Paris in 1998, the brand has built a global following for its distinctive approach to contemporary fashion, with boutiques in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and now, the Philippines. AZ Martinez, River Joseph react to 'Beg Winner' tag
AZ Martinez and River Joseph gave their reaction to the "Beg Winner" tag given to them by some "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition" viewers. On Wednesday's episode of the reality series, Boy Abunda challenged the Big Four duos to face the opinions of the outside world about them. For AzVer, he told them: "Tila mas nababagay daw sa inyo ang titulong Beg Winner rather than Big Winner dahil sa madalas n'yong pag iyak at pagiging overly emotional." AZ and River said they were just showing who they really are and how they really feel. "If being emotional affects other people, that's us being us. That's our true selves," AZ said. "And if people don't accept that, then that's OK. As long as alam namin naging totoo talaga kami at nasa puso talaga namin 'yung totoo." "If we were emotional, if we were weak, that's what we were really feeling that time. That's us being real. That's us not hiding whatever we felt. And it's OK to be emotional," River added. River also defended AZ from comments labeling her as "manipulative" and "backstabber." "I personally never saw AZ as someone who is manipulative. AZ always says that she's someone who thinks a lot, who contemplates on her thoughts a lot, and sa pagiging backstabber, I think that's just her trying to clarify those thoughts to other people and to express what she's feeling inside," he said. "But eventually, she will tell that person that she's having a problem with, straight to their face and talk about what their problem is and have that conversation with them and try to fix it afterwards," he added. AZ later defended River over allegations saying that he's talentless and only made it to showbiz because he is rich and has connections. "Ako I believe River did all the these through hard work. He went through the process of auditioning," she said. "I don't think it's from connections or anything, it's because of his talent talaga. Sobrang talented niya dito sa loob ng bahay, napapakita niya talaga," she said.
