Emmerdale pulled from ITV in schedule shake-up

Metro18 hours ago
Sports will continue to impact soap schedules for the rest of this week.
And the start of next week!
As a result of the UEFA Women's EURO 2025 coverage on ITV, Emmerdale will not be on screen for a little while. It's frustrating for us soap fans, as we're so used to sitting down at 7:30pm ready for another trip to the Dales.
We're always ready to help you here at Metro, so here's a handy guide for when Emmerdale is on over the next few days, and what to expect when we eventually return to the village.
The schedule for the soap for the remainder of this week and the start of the week commencing July 7 looks like this:
Thursday, July 3 – No episode
Friday, July 4 – No episode
Monday, July 7 – No episodeTuesday, July 8 – 7:30-8pmWednesday, July 9 – No episodeThursday, July 10 – 7:30-8:30pm
Friday, July 11 – 7:30-8pm
We were introduced to two new characters this week, and they both caused a lot of trouble.
Ray (Joe Absolom) arrived in the village searching for Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb). He had contacted Ray about selling some weed, but faced a nightmare when Ross Barton (Michael Parr) and Lewis (Bradley Riches) said they were not selling the plants to a dealer.
Ross and Lewis later discovered the plants had disappeared. They immediately accused Ray of stealing them, but it was later revealed that Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) was responsible.
Elsewhere, Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) came across farm owner Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) while taking Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) into Hotten. More Trending
Disaster struck for Paddy when a stray dog approached from Celia's land and attacked him. In the aftermath, Paddy attempted to confront her about it, but the new face ended up getting the upper hand, causing Paddy to run away in fear.
Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) ends up back in hospital next week, days on from her hysterectomy.
There, she will emotionally tell Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) that she still really wants to become a mum. Desperate to help her, Cain suggests they look at surrogacy.
Also, Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) gets a shock when Doctor Crowley (James Hillier) returns, and Lewis gets a new job in the cafe.

The descriptions says she will go "public with her theory of the Mamma Mia multiverse". Tickets are usually priced around £15, but a number of tickets have been released for her July 5 show for no cost at all. Fans can bag themselves a free ticket to her one-hour show and will only need to pay a £4 admin fee. While those keen to be in the audience can also purchase a ticket for a little as £10, as stated on the website, depending on the day you go. Although fans may be able to secure themselves a bargain, a show insider said it's not highly unusual that free tickets are given away. A rep for the show told The Sun: "Often in hot weather for preview shows, if they're not completely sold out, it is standard practice to offer some complimentary tickets." Jenny will be previewing her brand new show, Björn Yesterday on Saturday. Jenny, known to many as The Vixen from The Chase, surprised fans last year as she embarked on a new adventure. Jenny hit the road last September with her Out of the Box tour, which ran until November. Watch as The Chase's Jenny Ryan reveals new role away from ITV show At the time she shared her excitement and nerves about stepping away from her stern quizmaster persona with the new venture. Speaking to show host Ed Balls on GMB, Jenny explained: "We took the show to Edinburgh Fringe last year really on sort of a whim. "It's a big risk to take something like this, as presenters know, after a stern role and you try something new. "It's a bit of a challenge for people to change their expectations and perceptions of you." The former MP joked "Tell me about it!", referencing his segue from a political career into presenting. When Ranvir Singh suggested that Jenny might find it difficult to return to The Chase after opening up to audiences, she said: "Putting myself out there to show a softer side of me, putting everything out there, my background, everything… was a bit of a risk. "But we sold out [at the Fringe] and we got such excellent feedback."
