Industries dept launches ‘Bihar Idea Festival' portal for startups, students
Mishra said the portal would serve as a dedicated digital platform for them to submit their groundbreaking ideas and business concepts to foster inclusive growth, job creation and startup-led economic development.
"The aim of this portal is to collect ideas of innovation, solutions and positive change from every corner of Bihar and provide them a strong platform. Through this initiative, more than 10,000 ideas will be invited from 38 districts.
Selected ideas will be provided technical support, consultation, training and resources to move forward," the minister added.
It is the govt initiative in association with JEEViKA and others. The minister said the department will initiate this programme at the district level from July 24 by conducting awareness campaigns, leading to a 2-day mega event in Patna in the last week of August. "The winners of this event will get a wild card opportunity to the pitching round for seed funding of Rs10 lakh under the state's startup policy," he said.
Additional chief secretary (industries) Mihir Kumar Singh said the focus is on making the entrepreneurial ecosystem more inclusive and accessible by promoting grassroots innovation.

Academy Empower your mind, elevate your skills In a rare case, the Delhi High Court has held IT major Wipro Ltd in defamation over its termination letter to its former employee that was replete with 'stigma and insinuations.'It asked the company to pay Rs 2 lakh as general compensatory damages to Abhijit Mishra, who was working as principal consultant between 2018-2020, 'to redress the reputational harm , emotional hardship, and loss of professional credibility' occasioned by Wipro's that the letter was full of stigmatic language and bereft of any foundation, Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav asked Wipro to expunge remarks regarding the professional character of its former employee and issue a fresh termination letter to him."The remarks therein, couched in the use of the term 'malicious conduct', not only lack substantiation but also have a direct and deleterious impact on the future employability and professional dignity of the plaintiff," said the judge termination letter issued by Wipro did not merely effectuate the cessation of the employment relationship, but was couched in a language intended to tarnish Mishra's reputation and to impair his ability to pursue re-employment with dignity, the order tenor of the communication reveals a discernible intent to carry out a form of character assassination by Wipro under the semblance of administrative formality, thereby compounding the damage to Mishra's reputation and standing, Justice Kaurav has failed to place on record any credible evidence, either testimonial or documentary, to establish that the reputational harm suffered by Mishra was predicated on any demonstrable act of misconduct, the court had argued that Mishra, who was employed at a senior, creative, and managerial position that demanded highly creative and original work, instead of focusing on his professional duties was more invested in his self-styled identity as a 'crusader for social change,' engaging in activities unrelated to his behaviour demonstrated his lack of interest in improving his professional performance, which ultimately led to his termination, the company order came on a defamation suit filed by Mishra claiming damages of over Rs 2.10 crore for the adverse remarks in his termination letter that had a deleterious impact on his professional reputation, rendering him unable to secure any alternative employment.

DRDO Bangalore Lab: The Narendra Modi government is working relentlessly to strengthen its defense capabilities by giving the highest priority to self-reliance. Following Operation Sindoor in 2025, the central government has made it clear that India will no longer produce weapons solely for its own use, but will also export them globally. Recently, Dr. P.K. Mishra, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, visited the DRDO lab in Bengaluru signaling both seriousness and urgency in this direction. This lab primarily focuses on radar and electronic warfare technologies. It is important to note that the Modi government has removed over 400 weapons and equipment from the import list so far. This clearly indicates that these items will now be manufactured domestically and used by the Indian armed forces. Following Dr. Mishra's visit, several key projects have come to light that are set to take India's defence policy to new heights. Hypersonic Hitters – BrahMos-II Missile The BrahMos-II missile system is one of India's most ambitious defence projects. The BrahMos-II missile will have a range of 1,500 kilometers It will have a speed eight times faster than the speed of sound. It will be capable of being launched from land, sea, and air platforms. The Long-Range Anti-Ship Missile will have a range of over 1,000 kilometers Next-Gen Air Superiority – AMCA Stealth Fighter, India's first fifth-generation stealth fighter jet, AMCA, is being jointly developed by DRDO and HAL. Its first flight is expected by 2026, with serial production likely by 2032–33. This fighter jet will feature supercruise capability, stealth technology, an internal weapons bay, and advanced avionics. Multi-Layer Air Defence System – Project Kusha Project Kusha is designed to intercept ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, fighter jets, and drones within a range of 150 to 400 kilometers. DRDO is developing this system domestically with capabilities comparable to the S-400. It is expected to become operational by 2028. VSHORADS, Shoulder-fired Missile System VSHORADS is an indigenous missile system It is being developed on a large scale for the first time in India. It has a range of approximately 6 kilometers and is equipped with an advanced infrared seeker. The Army has placed an order for 5,000 units, which could make it a part of India's defense export portfolio. Smart Precision Weapons: Rudram-2 and Rudram-3 The Rudram-2 and Rudram-3 missiles are intended to strike enemy radars, air defense systems, and communication hubs. Rudram-2 offers a range of 250 to 300 kilometers, while Rudram-3 is expected to exceed a range of 550 kilometers. Commodity Radar: Religare expert recommends a buy on MCX aluminium futures, eyes 5% upside
Aluminium futures were trading in the red on Tuesday, taking cues from international prices. Base metals remain in uncertain territory amid tariff policy shifts in the US, along with China's economic issues and overcapacity. ADVERTISEMENT Aluminium's July contracts on the MCX were trading at Rs 248.75 per kg, falling by Rs 0.60 or 0.24% around 2:30 pm. Commenting on the action, Ajit Mishra, Senior Vice President, Research at Religare Broking said that aluminium prices are gradually inching higher following significant policy shifts by the United States, which has announced a 30% tariff on Mexican aluminium products set to take effect from August 1, 2025. Similar trade tensions are brewing in Europe as the European Commission President voiced strong concerns that the proposed 30% tariff on EU exports could disrupt key transatlantic supply chains and negatively impact businesses and consumers on both sides, he added. Aluminium on MCX has shown a strong recovery from its recent swing low of Rs 228.75, rebounding sharply and reclaiming key moving averages, Mishra said. The price has now sustained above the 50-day and 200-day moving averages, indicating a shift in momentum towards the bullish side. The steadily higher highs and higher lows pattern in the recent candles signals buyer dominance. ADVERTISEMENT With price currently hovering near Rs 249.35, the uptrend remains intact as long as it holds above the Rs 245–246 zone, Mishra said, adding that a decisive breakout above Rs 251 could pave the way towards Rs 258–260 in the short term. Traders may consider a buy-on-dips strategy near Rs 248 with a stop-loss at Rs 244, targeting Rs 258, the Religare analyst recommended.
