The Devil Wears Prada 2 finally begins filming – ‘That's all'
Disney's 20th Century Studios confirmed the news on Instagram, sharing a teaser featuring two devilish red pumps.
The film, based on Lauren Weisberger's 2004 novel, follows the story of Andy Sachs (Hathaway), an aspiring journalist who lands a job at the fashion magazine Runway, under the reign of the demanding editor Miranda Priestly (Streep).
In addition to the returning cast, Kenneth Branagh has joined the sequel as the husband of Miranda Priestly. While plot details remain under wraps, it's been reported that The Devil Wears Prada 2 will focus on Miranda's career as she grapples with the decline of traditional magazine publishing. She will face off against Blunt's character, her former assistant, who is now a top executive at a luxury group with valuable advertising dollars that Priestly needs.
Although Hathaway's character, Andy Sachs, left Runway at the end of the first film to work at a newspaper, it's unclear how she will factor into the sequel's storyline. David Frankel and Aline Brosh McKenna, who directed and wrote the original film, are returning to helm the sequel.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, 2026, marking the return of one of Hollywood's most beloved fashion films.

Lisa Ann Walter says she's ready for a 'Parent Trap' reboot under one condition
Lisa Ann Walter, beloved for playing Chessy in The Parent Trap (1998), says she's open to returning for a reboot but only under one very specific condition. Speaking at an Abbott Elementary event in Los Angeles, Walter shared what would convince her to revisit the fan-favourite role. 'One-hundred percent if Nancy Meyers wrote it,' she said, referring to the director and co-writer of the 1998 Disney remake. Walter also insisted any reboot should include Lindsay Lohan and Dennis Quaid, and thoughtfully honour the absence of Natasha Richardson, who portrayed the twins' mother. 'Dennis has said that he doesn't think it's doable without Natasha, and I understand that,' she explained. 'If it was written beautifully, maybe it's doable.' The actress remains close with co-star Elaine Hendrix and occasionally hears from Lohan via Instagram. She even kept in touch with Quaid during the pandemic, delivering meals to his home. Walter added that although her own kids weren't obsessed with The Parent Trap, they've had their own experiences with its legacy. 'All of my boys have said that girls have dated them specifically because Chessy is their mum,' she joked. Reflecting on the film's lasting impact, Walter said, 'People still dress up as the characters to this day.' She believes a new version, if made with care, would resonate with longtime fans.

Adrian Grenier exits Devil Wears Prada sequel, won't reprise Nate role
Adrian Grenier will not reprise his role as Nate Cooper in the upcoming sequel to The Devil Wears Prada, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed with two sources familiar with the production. The sequel to the 2006 hit film is currently in production and set for release in 2026. While original cast members Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci are expected to return, Grenier's character — long debated by fans as the 'real villain' for his unsupportive behavior toward Hathaway's Andy Sachs — will not appear in the sequel. The original film, directed by David Frankel and based on Lauren Weisberger's bestselling novel, followed Andy Sachs as she navigated the world of high fashion journalism under the leadership of the fearsome Miranda Priestly. The story culminates in Andy and Nate's strained relationship resolving just as she quits her demanding job and moves to Boston with him. Despite a long-standing debate about Nate's role in the story, Grenier previously acknowledged fan criticism, admitting in a 2021 EW interview that Nate's behavior was immature and selfish. However, sources say his character will not be part of the next chapter. Frankel and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna are both returning for the sequel. Plot details remain under wraps, but the production is set to continue through the summer. Entertainment Weekly reached out to representatives for Grenier and parent company Disney, but no official comment has been made at this time. The Devil Wears Prada 2 is slated for release in 2026.
