UK PM Urges Immediate End to Humanitarian Catastrophe in Gaza
British Prime Minister (PM) Keir Starmer on Saturday called for an end to the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip, affirming that the UK will do everything in its power to provide life-saving food and support to the Palestinian people.
In an article published in "The Mirror", Starmer described the famine and despair in Gaza as 'utterly horrific,' stating that the British public is deeply distressed by the ongoing situation, especially the harrowing images coming from Gaza.
He emphasized that depriving the Palestinian people, including children and infants, of humanitarian aid is completely unjustifiable.
He also condemned the continued hostage-taking and what he described as disproportionate Israeli military escalation in Gaza.
Starmer pointed to the killing of hundreds of civilians and children by Israeli forces as they attempted to access aid and food, describing it as a humanitarian disaster that must end immediately.
