'Jaya Bachchan once invited Rekha for lunch, confronted her about Amitabh Bachchan,' said writer Hanif Zaveri: 'Things changed after his Coolie accident'
and
ever since they worked together in the movies. While Bachchan has always denied these rumours, Rekha has often confessed about her love for him.

When asked on Simi Garewal's show if she ever fell in love with him, Rekha had said it's a dumb question.
She added that she doesn't know of anyone who has never fallen, deeply, completely and hopelessly in love with him. While one can never comment on their equation, a while ago in an interview, writer and film expert Hanif Zaveri had spoken about it.
He had said on the podcast, 'Meri Saheli' a while ago about Bachchan and Rekha's bonding which developed during 'Do Anjaane'.
He said, "Woh log bahut kareeb aa gaye aur pata nahin kaise ek doosre ke pyaar mein pad gaye. Lekin yeh 100% tha ki dono ek doosre ko chahne lage the (They grew very close, and somehow, they fell in love with each other. But one thing was certain — they had truly started to care for one another).'
Zaveri said that things changed drastically after Bachchan's nearly fatal accident on the sets of 'Coolie'. He almost got a second life after that. Haif said, "After Amitabh Bachchan's accident on the set of Coolie,
played a very important role, staying by his side at the hospital 24/7, taking care of him, meeting with the doctors… When Amitabh saw all this, certain things naturally began to shift, and he started drifting away from Rekha.
Unka jhukaav apni patni ke prati zyada hog gaya,' he said in Hindi.
In this interview, he also spoke about the time when Jaya Bachchan took the bold step of confronting Rekha. He said, "It is said that Jaya Bachchan once invited Rekha over for lunch at her home. Aisa sab kehte the, mujhe nahi pataa usmein kitni sacchai hai. Uss waqt Amitabh Bachchan ghar mein the nahi. Unko achhe se khana-wana khilaya gaya, wahaan ki bahut saari gupshup hui.

Aur gupshup karne ke baad, jab last mein jab jaane ka time aaya toh Jaya Bachchan ne Rekha se kaha: 'Dekho, Amitabh mera tha, mera hai, aur mera hi rahega'.
Toh uske baad bhi shayad Rekha ne apne kadam peeche kar liye. (At the time, Amitabh Bachchan wasn't at home. Rekha was served a lovely meal, and the two engaged in a long, friendly chat. But as Rekha was about to leave, Jaya reportedly said to her: 'Look, Amitabh was mine, is mine, and will always be mine.').'
Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Rekha had shared screen space in 'Silsila', which released in 1981.

Last Updated: Priyanka Chopra was also supposed to collaborate with Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt for Jee Le Zara. However, there is no update on the film's shoot schedule as of now. Global icon Priyanka Chopra has admitted that even she misses working in the Hindi film industry. Recently, the actress was promoting her newly released movie, Heads of State, when she opened up about being away for a long time. 'I miss Hindi movies and I miss India so much," she told India Today. However, the actress shared that she is working in India currently and will soon star in SS Rajamouli's upcoming movie, SSMB29. 'I'm working in India this year, and I'm really excited about that," she added. What Do We Know About SSMB29? Also starring Mahesh Babu, director SS Rajamouli has been keeping the details of SSMB29 under wraps. However, for now, it is known that the film is expected to be an action-adventure drama in the vein of Indiana Jones, a genre Rajamouli's father and veteran writer Vijayendra Prasad has also confirmed in several interviews. Rajamouli even did a location recce in Kenya back in 2024, which suggests that at least a part of the movie will be filmed there. The shoot was initially expected to begin in mid-2024, but delays in pre-production pushed things further. During a special screening of RRR in Japan earlier, Rajamouli had given a small but sweet update on the project. 'His name is Mahesh Babu, he is a Telugu actor (people hoot). Looks like many of you already know him. He is very handsome. Hopefully, we finish the film a little bit fast and during the release, I will bring him here, and I'll introduce him to you. I'm sure you will love him as well," he had said. Priyanka Chopra's Another Hindi Movie – Jee Le Zara PeeCee was also supposed to collaborate with Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt for Farhan Akhtar's movie – Jee Le Zara. However, there is no update on the film's shoot schedule as of now. In February this year, Farhan opened up about the delay in this film when he told The Hindu, 'The astronomy of it is all messed up: my rahu is in my ketu (laughs). Unfortunately, it will take more time. I am optimistic that it will happen when it has to happen. There is a time for everything. I don't want to stress out over this one project. I have other things to do (like Don 3 with Ranveer Singh)." First Published:

‘People said I was paid to kill Amitabh Bachchan, I got death threats, was fired from films': Puneet Issar recalls Coolie accident aftermath
When Amitabh Bachchan had a near-fatal accident on the set on Manmohan Desai's Coolie, fans of the star all over the country got together to pray for him. Meanwhile, Puneet Issar, who was being accused of causing this blow as he was also involved in the stunt, was being targeted by those on the outside. In a recent interview, Puneet shared that he received death threats and there some accusations against him implying that he had been paid to kill the star. Puneet said that during this phase, he was let go from many projects and since he had to still earn his livelihood, he became a martial arts trainer during this time. In a chat with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, Puneet said, 'Someone said that I have been paid to kill Bachchan. They said that some star who is in the opposition… people were printing lies then. Someone wrote that Puneet Issar claims that he can run faster than a train, so people were saying whatever they wanted.' He shared that he received many threats via calls. 'People would call me at the house that we will not leave you, we will kill you,' he shared and added, 'I didn't do anything intentionally. It just happened, it was an accident.' When asked if he was fired from other projects at this time, he said, 'People wanted to avoid me. They said he has hurt someone, our film's star might feel bad. News spreads like wild fire so it was blown out of proportion that he is a black belt in martial arts, he is tough, he can really hurt people, let's cast him in a friend's role not in a villain's role. Such chatter used to happen.' Puneet shared that he was 'dropped from 7-8 films' and had no work but he still had to make a living. He recalled that from 1982-1988, until he was cast in Mahabharat as Duryodhan, he would do smaller films, conduct speech classes, and train people in martial arts.
