Salman Khan recalls seeing his poster in Kareena Kapoor's bathroom when she was 8; says Rahul Roy replaced him when she turned 15: ‘She was a fan'
Kapil Sharma kickstarted the third season of The Great Indian Kapil Show with Salman Khan as the first guest. While the actor had a great time interacting with the cast of the show, Kapil has now shared the leftover, unseen footage from Salman's episode on his YouTube channel.
During the extended interaction, Salman spoke about the possibility of doing a film with fellow superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan. When Kapil mentioned Aamir's comment about trying to get all three Khans to work in a film together, Salman responded, 'Let them try. Jab hoga tab hoga.'
Salman was also asked about Aamir's wish to travel with both him and Shah Rukh to an undisclosed location. Talking about the idea, he said, 'Aamir told me that SRK, me and him should make a trip together. We are working it out… a place where nobody knows us.' To this, Archana Puran Singh quipped that no such place exists on this planet and suggested they try the moon. Salman cheekily added, 'Maybe it will work but how long it will work, we will see.'
Kapil then showcased several posters of Salman Khan at bizarre locations like salons, eyewear shops, and more. When asked if Salman had ever come across his poster in a weird place, the actor recalled, 'It is long time ago, I think I have heard in Kareena Kapoor's bathroom. I was shown my poster at her house, I think she was 8-9 years old at that time, she was a fan. After she became 15-16 years old, my poster was replaced by Rahul Roy's poster.' Kareena and Salman have worked together in films like Bodyguard, Kyon Ki and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Salman also opened up about his fitness journey and revealed that he had always found inspiration in veteran actor Dharmendra. He said that Dharmendra's workout photos used to motivate him in his early years. Salman then spoke about his father, Salim Khan, and praised his impressive metabolism and discipline even at the age of 89.
He shared, 'He (Salim Khan) eats 2-3 parathas, meat, rice. He also has dessert twice a day. His metabolism is different. He is also very disciplined. He walks all the way to Band Stand and back every morning.'

‘Don't care if I am trolled'—BJP leader stands with Diljit Dosanjh as FWICE demands his ouster
Ever since the film's trailer dropped on 22 June, Dosanjh has faced relentless criticism for acting alongside Hania. The trailer has since been removed from YouTube in India, and both the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) and the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) have spoken out against him, calling for a boycott of the film. FWICE went a step further, writing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and demanding that Dosanjh's citizenship be revoked. '.@diljitdosanjh is not just a celebrated artist—he's a national asset and a global ambassador of Indian culture. FWICE's call to revoke his Indian citizenship over an inadvertent and pre-incident film shoot is not only unfair but shockingly disproportionate,' the senior BJP leader wrote on X. New Delhi: Amid backlash against Diljit Dosanjh's upcoming Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3 , which features Pakistani actor Hania Aamir, BJP national spokesperson RP Singh has come out in support of the singer-actor. Singh criticised the calls to suspend Dosanjh's Indian citizenship. .@diljitdosanjh is not just a celebrated artist—he's a national asset and a global ambassador of Indian culture. Singh, however, contends that this is a mere 'publicity stunt' by FWICE. 'Who has given the right to some organisation to ask for his citizenship [to be revoked]? Boycott his film, do not show [it] on any OTT [platform], and if he speaks [anything] anti-India, do criticise him. But the citizenship bit is taking it too far,' Singh told ThePrint. 'Do not care if I am trolled' Singh's post has attracted strong reactions online, but the BJP leader is unbothered. 'I don't need a certificate of nationalism or patriotism from anyone. The way Dosanjh presents himself, he is a humble soul, and he represents India wherever he goes. As long as he wears a turban, he is Indian, and we must remember that,' Singh said. In his X post, Singh also questioned whether there would be similar outrage over Indian cricketers playing against Pakistan in Dubai a month before the Pahalgam terror attack, or against TV anchors who host Pakistani panellists on debate shows. 'This is ridiculous. And I do not care if I am trolled. My views are clear,' he added. Dosanjh recently completed a successful concert tour with Dil-Illuminati and made international headlines with his Met Gala debut in May this year. He paid tribute to his Punjabi roots with an ensemble that nodded to Maharaja Bhupinder Singh, the erstwhile ruler of the princely state of Patiala. Meanwhile, FWICE remains firm in its stance. 'We do not want a citizen like him. He thinks he is God. Sardaar Ji 1 and 2 didn't do well. In this film, [Hania] Aamir has been cast so that everyone talks about it. Since he doesn't want to replace her, we will make sure he is replaced, not just from Border 2 and other films, but [from] our country too,' FWICE president BN Tiwari told ThePrint. FWICE's warning to Dosanjh Dosanjh has yet to issue an official statement addressing the widespread criticism. But in an interview with BBC Asia, he explained the decision to go ahead with the film's release. 'When the film was being made, the situation was OK. After that, there's been a lot of things…that are not in our hands,' said Dosanjh. Sardaar Ji 3 will not be released in India while it was released overseas, including in Pakistan, on 27 June. Early reports say the film's initial screenings in the neighbouring country have been 'houseful'. Meanwhile, FWICE has written a letter to Bhushan Kumar of T-Series, which is backing Border 2. The letter called the decision to retain Dosanjh in the cast a 'blatant violation' of its directive to boycott him. 'By choosing to collaborate with an artist who has so brazenly ignored the ongoing tensions and national sentiment, your production has directly undermined the stand taken by the Indian film industry in solidarity with the nation,' read the open letter, dated 24 June. Border 2 is the sequel to JP Dutta's cult classic war film Border (1997), set during the India-Pakistan war of 1971. Dosanjh plays a key role in the film. 'We have written to the National Defence Academy and [Defence Minister] Rajnath Singh about not giving permission to Border 2 for shooting. Dosanjh is challenging the entire country. It is a matter of national security,' said Tiwari. FWICE has not yet received a response from either the government or the makers of Border 2. The film workers' union also issued a letter to Dosanjh on 26 June. 'As an Indian, your first responsibility is towards your country. You have failed in that regard, and your professional choices have made it abundantly clear that the nation's interest is not your priority,' the letter states. It goes on to inform Dosanjh of the punitive measures being initiated. 'FWICE hereby issues a Non-Cooperation Directive against you with immediate effect. All associations affiliated with FWICE and their members are instructed not to cooperate with you on any current or future projects until such time as you publicly disassociate from the said collaboration and issue an unconditional apology to the Indian film fraternity and the citizens of India,' it further warns. What Is Matcha? Sanya Malhotra Says ‘Tu Chahiye' But Ankush Bahuguna Thinks It's ‘Mehendi Ka Pani'
Last Updated: Matcha is usually whisked with hot water or blended into milk to make drinks like the now-famous matcha latte. Matcha has no match. This bright green drink has travelled far beyond Japanese tea rooms and found its way into Instagram reels and café menus. It is not just a trend anymore; matcha is becoming a lifestyle. And guess who has also fallen for it? None other than Sanya Malhotra. The actress recently posted a video showing her love for matcha. In her own playful style, Sanya is seen preparing the drink while the song Tu Chahiye from Bajrangi Bhaijaan plays in the background. In the caption, she wrote: 'Plot twist: Tu was matcha all along. Brewing with Love." View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sanya Malhotra (@sanyamalhotra_) While Sanya is all hearts for it, influencer Ankush Bahuguna isn't a fan. Speaking on The Having Said That Show podcast, he shared his honest opinion where he said that matcha feels like 'mehendi ka paani." He added, 'I don't get the hype why every other Instagram story, you see some girl like pouring that green thing and usme fir jhaad phook kar rahi hai. Pata nahi tantrik bane hue hai log. I don't get it. I don't think people are drinking it, they're just posting it." What Is Matcha? Matcha is a fine green powder made from specially grown tea leaves. It is usually whisked with hot water or blended into milk to make drinks like the now-famous matcha latte. The word 'matcha" simply means 'ground tea" in Japanese. While green tea first arrived in Japan from China in the ninth century and was mainly used for its medicinal benefits, matcha as we know it today came much later. It truly took shape in Kyoto during the 16th century as part of the Japanese tea ceremony, a ritual that was popularised by tea master Sen no Rikyu. In today's world, matcha comes in different grades depending on its quality and purpose. The highest is ceremonial grade which is used for traditional tea rituals. Then there is culinary grade which is more common and used in cooking, baking and everyday lattes. How Is Matcha Made? Matcha comes from a special type of tea leaf called tencha. These leaves are shaded from sunlight for weeks before harvest which boosts their flavour and nutritional value. After that, they are steamed, dried and slowly stone-ground into powder. This process is slow as making just 40 grams of matcha powder can take up to an hour. That is also why it's more expensive than regular green tea. Why Do People Love It? For starters, the health benefits. Matcha is loaded with antioxidants especially a type called catechins that protect your cells. One of the strongest catechins in it, EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate), is believed to support heart health and reduce inflammation. It also contains L-theanine, an amino acid that promotes relaxation, which can improve focus and alertness. Nichola Ludlam-Raine, a registered dietician and author of How Not To Eat Ultra Processed, said matcha can be one of many ways to support mental health. 'Matcha may help with stress levels due to its L-theanine content," she explains. L-theanine has been shown to promote relaxation without causing drowsiness, and it can balance the stimulating effects of caffeine, creating a calm, focused state. This combination is often why people find matcha less jittery than coffee," Ludlam-Raine told The Independent. It's About The Aesthetic Matcha's growing popularity isn't just about what's in the cup, it is also about the culture around it. The ritual of making matcha, the tools, the colour feels like a whole new vibe. 'People are also attracted to the Japanese culture around tea: the ritual, the time taken, the aesthetics," Shigehito Nishikida from Tokyo's Jugetsudo tea shop Daily Observer.
