EA Sports releases its trailer for NCAA College Football ‘26 with a Notre Dame flare

Yahoo29-05-2025
Notre Dame football fans found out earlier this week that it will have two representatives on the cover of EA Sports NCAA College Football 2026 in head coach Marcus Freeman and star running back Jeremiyah Love.
On Thursday morning, a game trailer was shared on social media, and once again, the Irish are one of the many teams across the nation that got love from the video game series. Early in the almost 2 minute preview, we catch a glimpse of Notre Dame Stadium, but that wasn't all of the Irish they showed.
Later you see Love trucking over a defender, and then Freeman meeting at midfield with another coach. Once again college football fans across the nation will get their opportunity to build a team, and surely many of us will be trying to create a dynasty with Notre Dame.
The game will be available for purchase on July 10th, but you can preorder the game now so you won't have to wait to get your own copy.

Notre Dame Class of 2026 tight end target Evan Jacobson predicted to land at Texas A&M

Notre Dame landed a pair of elite tight end recruits when the program received commitments from Ian Premer and Preston Fryzel, two key offensive components in its Class of 2026. The Fighting Irish were also once considered leaders for the pledge of Waukee (Waukee, IA) tight end Evan Jacobson. But with two at the position already in the fold, tight end is seemingly taken care of in this class, which is one reason recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong gave an expert prediction for Jacobson to land with Texas A&M. Jacobson, who is also a very good basketball player like his father, who played hoops at Nebraska and Iowa State, is the second-ranked player in the state of Iowa, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Jacobson's offer list became even longer throughout this offseason, and he now has well over 30. Among the more notable power programs that have offered him besides the Irish are Ohio State, Penn State, LSU and A&M. One thing is clear: no matter where Jacobson lands, Irish fans have to be ecstatic about the future with Premer and Fryzel in the fold. Social media reacts to 2027 4-star quarterback Teddy Jarrard committing to Notre Dame

Notre Dame football got a commitment from its quarterback of the future on Thursday afternoon, as 2027 Georgia 4-star Teddy Jarrard opted for the Blue and Gold. The Irish have the luxury of looking ahead, as its 2026 class is virtually full with twenty-six current commitments. There are now three verbals in the 2027 cycle, one each on offense, defense and special teams. It's a fantastic base to work off, and with the most important player checked off, Notre Dame's coach staff can now turn its focus to the other positions in the class. It was a big development for the Irish, and social media acted accordingly. There were numerous post about how huge this was for Notre Dame, and check out the best reactions to Jarrard committing below. Massive recruiting win With Jarrard's commitment, there are now just a handful of top quarterbacks off the board in the 2027 cycle, which gives each of those teams, including Notre Dame a leg up no the remaining prospects in the class. The Irish were able to go into SEC enemy territory and pull out a recruiting win, which not many teams are able to do. Jarrard's stock set to rise? We've all seen plenty of recruits getting an SEC-bump, but there could be a significant rise in the rankings in the near future for Jarrard. He's done extremely well in the camp circuit this spring and summer, and many have taken notice. Top-50 overall player according to Tom Lemming One of the original recruiting guru's, Lemming has seen it all and if he says that Jarrad is a top-50 prospect, then most likely he is. While his current recruiting ranking doesn't reflect that, like Power said above, a significant jump could be in the works. Lemming gives a great breakdown of his skill set, and one that should be getting Notre Dame fans very excited. An interesting comparison I haven't gotten a chance to take a dive into Jarrard's film, which I will do tonight, but comparing him to CJ Carr is very interesting. We haven't seen any of the expected Irish starting quarterback at this level, but we are talking about a guy that should be starting in year-two in the program. I don't think many would be complaining if that was the case with Jarrard as well. The gamble payed off for Notre Dame Many, including myself, were concerned that Notre Dame had only offered two quarterback in 2027, but all of us worriers were proven wrong. You just need one to commit, and the Irish got a great one in Jarrard. Beating out multiple other College Football Playoff teams is icing on the cake. The traits are elite There is one thing that I've noticed when evaluating high school quarterback prospects is that if they are accurate at that level, they will be at the next. It's one of the hardest aspects of the position to teach, and if a player shows those traits early on, most likely they aren't going anywhere. Jarrard completing over 70% of his attempts at a sophomore is exceptional, and we can expect the same when he arrives in South Bend. The moment Jarrard went Irish A magical moment for Jarrard and Notre Dame, as the two matched up extremely well and will be together in the coming seasons. It's the culmination of many years of hard work, and the recruits should enjoy the moment, which is exactly what happened. Katie Taylor tops Amanda Serrano in decision to sweep trilogy

Katie Taylor won another instant classic against Amanda Serrano on Friday night, earning a majority decision at Madison Square Garden in New York to remain the undisputed female super lightweight champion. One judge had the match even at 95-95 while the other two scored it 97-93. The win gave Taylor (25-1) a sweep of her trilogy with Serrano (47-4-1), though a sweep hardly does the rivalry justice. Taylor won the first match in 2022 via split decision and beat Serrano with a unanimous decision in November of last year. Three fights, 30 combined rounds. "I just want to thank Amanda history-makers," Taylor said following the win. While admitting she had some issues with the result, Serrano was gracious in defeat and equally effusive in her praise of her opponent. "I'm crying because it's all about you guys (the fans)," Serrano said. "Thank you, Katie Taylor, for an amazing three fights." Taylor and Serrano both vowed they wouldn't fight each other again. Here's a round-by-round breakdown of the fight (with unofficial scoring for each round): Round 1: Both women spent the round feeling each other out, neither landing anything significant outside of a few jabs. Taylor won the round, per Netflix's unofficial scorecard. Round 2: Serrano pushed Taylor back against the ropes, picking smarter shots but not letting the Irish native land counter shots. That evened the score at 19 apiece on the unofficial card. Round 3: The pace started to pick up, as both women found their footing in the pocket and traded punches against the ropes. Serrano kept the pressure on Taylor despite Taylor finding openings throughout. Round 4: Much of the same, as neither could find the knockout but kept a frenetic pace despite the two minutes seemingly flying by. That made it 38-38, unofficially. Round 5: Arguably the most competitive round. Serrano and Taylor remained inside each other's range with hard power shots, but neither could put the other on the canvas. Serrano unofficially led 48-47. Round 6: Serrano walked Taylor down but Taylor was able to survive the early flurry. As the round progressed, Taylor continued to hang in the pocket and find Serrano's chin. Another close round, but Serrano led 58-56. Round 7: Taylor continued to find her rhythm of her strikes -- albeit at a slower pace -- as Serrano backed up against the ropes. Taylor closed to within 67-66. Round 8: Serrano returned to putting Taylor against the ropes but Taylor landed potentially the stronger counter shots. Neither found a defining knockdown, however, and Serrano was back up two, 77-75. Round 9: Both combatants fought more desperately, trying to sway the judges. Big shots were thrown on both sides, but Serrano swung to the final bell as Taylor was on her back foot for much of the round. Taylor still won the round, narrowing Serrano's lead to 86-85. Round 10: In the final minutes of the trilogy, both women stood in the center of the ring and traded blows, with the final unofficial scorecard a 95-95 tie. --Field Level Media Field Level Media 2025 - All Rights Reserved
