There is big debate going on now days about the vivid cosmetic treatments taken by the actress to achieve that perfect look and their repercussions after the sudden demise of actress Shefali Jariwala. Actress Manushi Chhillar, who will next be seen in 'Maalik' opposite Rajkummar Rao has now shared her take on the matter. During an exclusive interaction with IANS, Manushi revealed that contrary to popular opinion, getting cosmetic treatment is not a new phenomenon, it is just that we have access to better technology now. Speaking to IANS, Manushi said, 'I come from a medical background and that's a very big misconception that it is a recent phenomenon, that is not the case. Maybe today we have more advanced technology but all of this has been around for centuries.
According to her, getting such procedures done should be a personal choice and not something that can be forced. 'If you talk about cosmetology, it's a very personal choice. It's not a requirement of a particular profession but if it makes you feel good, you should go ahead and do it — it's your personal choice- no one is allowed to give you an opinion on that and if you don't want to do it then no one should be forcing you to do it,' the former Miss World added.
Post Shefali Jariwala's demise, a debate has erupted over cosmetic treatment undergone by actresses. Coming back to 'Maalik', aside from Manushi and Rajkummar, the project will also feature Prosenjit Chatterjee, Medha Shankr, Huma Qureshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Swanand Kirkire in significant roles, along with others. This will be Manushi's primary on-screen pairing with Rajkummar.
Rajkummar underwent intense gun training for his role as a gangster in 'Maalik'. He learned various techniques of using the gun like a true professional. Shedding further light on this, producer Jay Shewakramani shared, 'It took some time and hardcore training for Raj to master the AK 47. During rehearsals, there were a few times when he faced some shoulder jerks while practicing the gun. I absolutely admire Raj's commitment to his craft.' Before this, 'Maalik' director Pulkit shed light on Rao's rugged transformation for the gangster drama. The 'Stree' actor grew his beard for over 80 days to achieve his desired rugged look in the forthcoming flick. Pulkit further disclosed that the team wanted Rao to embody a sense of raw power for his role.
The filmmaker shared, 'We wanted Raj to embody a sense of raw power, something that feels lived-in, gritty, and unapologetically real. He committed to the process fully, both physically and emotionally. Rajkummar Rao grew his beard for nearly three months to embody a character bursting with wild energy. What you see in the teaser is just the beginning, there's so much more to this character, and Rajkummar has delivered something truly special'. 'Maalik' is set for a theatrical release on July 11 this year.

Rihanna on donning multiple hats in Smurfs: 'It was invigorating and exciting'

Singer and actress Rihanna has donned multiple hats in the upcoming movie "The Smurfs". Along with lending her voice to Smurfette, she is also the producer and musical head of the project. Shedding light on playing multiple roles in the drama, Rihanna called it equally thrilling and challenging. Speaking during the global promotions, the 'Battleship' actress talked about her experience of being a part of the movie. "It was invigorating and exciting for me to not only embody a character but also bring my musical life into the mix. We worked with music producers and choreographers whose work I admire. To put those two worlds together was a win-win for everyone. It pushed us all to challenge our artistry", Rihanna added. Rihanna (left) and A$AP Rocky pose for photographers. AP She further revealed that during her childhood in Barbados, "Smurfs" was a part of her routine. The 'Ocean's 8' actress went on to share, "So many mornings, I woke up long before I was supposed to get ready for school just to get that dose of Smurfs." Rihanna added that she has related a lot to the character of Smurfette and what she stands for. "First of all, I have always loved makeup and hair. We all know that. And she's an esthetician. She's also a powerful leader, independent, strong, beautiful, sassy, witty, and very empathetic. I was super-inspired by all of that. I think she loves music too and her favorite genres are hip-hop, reggae, Afrobeats, ballads, and house. That's Smurfette. She needs options," she said. From left: Producer Ryan Harris, Ramsey Naito, Rihanna, Hugo Miller, Laura Miller and director Chris Miller pose for photographers upon arrival at the world premiere of the film "Smurfs" in Brussels on Saturday. AP Rihanna took inspiration for her character from some real-life women, plucking little things from each of them. "They are all so different in personality, tone, and attitude, but I feel like these are the women who are with me daily. Smurfette needed to come from all of us," she concluded. "The Smurfs" will be reaching India on July 18th. The movie will be available in both English and Hindi. Indo-Asian News Service
