Saudi Reef Highlights 750 Million Taif Roses Produced in 2024

The Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program (Saudi Reef) has launched a week-long media campaign highlighting Taif roses as one of the Kingdom's most important agricultural and heritage products with significant economic value.
Saudi Reef Assistant Secretary-General for Media and Communication Majed Al-Buraikan noted that the Taif rose is one of the world's most prominent aromatic roses and is classified among the top three types in terms of quality and fragrance, SPA reported.
He emphasized that Taif rose production exceeded 750 million roses in 2024, with the program aiming to increase production to 2 billion by 2026.
He said that Saudi Reef has allocated SAR135 million in direct investments over three years to implement 14 development projects.
These projects cover various stages of production and support, including nurseries, laboratories, and agri-clinics, to support value chains and achieve sustainable rural development in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

It will also cover valley and watershed studies, flood risk mitigation planning, and the review of existing studies. Ongoing monitoring, evaluation, and field reporting will ensure transparency and effectiveness throughout implementation. Water Management This initiative supports the objectives of the National Water Strategy by focusing on improved water demand management, higher usage efficiency, environmental conservation, and encouraging private sector involvement. It is a strategic step toward achieving the sustainability goals outlined in Saudi Vision 2030. Saudi Arabia retained its position as the top recipient of venture capital (VC) investment in the MENA region during the first half of 2025, according to the H1 2025 MENA Venture Investment Report by MAGNiTT. The Kingdom recorded a total VC investment of $860 million (SAR 3.2 billion), surpassing its full-year total for 2024. This milestone highlights the ongoing economic transformation driven by Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to diversify and strengthen the national economy. With 56% of the region's total VC funding in H1 2025, Saudi Arabia secured the largest share among MENA countries. The country also registered a record-breaking 114 VC deals during the same period, reinforcing its position as the region's most dynamic investment hub. These achievements underscore the Kingdom's growing appeal to investors and its progress toward building a vibrant, competitive business environment. Vision 2030 Driving Investment Growth Commenting on the report, Dr. Nabeel Koshak, CEO and Board Member at Saudi Venture Capital (SVC), credited government-led initiatives under Vision 2030 for the Kingdom's continued dominance in the regional VC landscape. He also emphasized that these efforts have been crucial in energizing the startup and VC ecosystem. 'At SVC, we remain committed to accelerating this momentum by encouraging private investors to support startups and SMEs,' said Dr. Koshak. 'This support is essential for fostering rapid, sustainable growth and achieving the broader goals of Vision 2030, including economic diversification and increased private sector participation.' Minister of Transport and Logistics Services Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser revealed the targets during a ministerial session titled 'Shaping the Future of Transport: People, Technology, and Policy' at the Global Aviation and Maritime Transport Summit. He said the Kingdom is advancing steadily to build an integrated transport ecosystem centered on people and powered by technology and modern policies. Al-Jasser highlighted ongoing efforts to develop logistics zones and enhance multimodal integration by connecting transport systems with customs and digital infrastructure, improving service efficiency and nationwide coverage. One key initiative is the integrated logistics zone at Jeddah Islamic Port, directly linked to the main seaport, customs warehouses, and air cargo noted that the zone will soon be connected by rail to King Abdulaziz International Airport through the upcoming land bridge unified national digital logistics platform, which links customs, ports, airlines, and freight forwarders, has already cut customs clearance times by more than 30%, streamlining cargo flow across the in mid-2021, the National Transport and Logistics Strategy is a cornerstone of Saudi Vision 2030.
