Born in South London, Campbell came through the ranks at Arsenal before starring for the Gunners across five seasons, ultimately finding his way to Goodison Park after stints with Nottingham Forest and Trabzonspor, arriving on the blue half of Merseyside initially on loan in 1998.
Almost immediately, Campbell endeared himself to the Everton faithful, bagging nine goals in just eight Premier League appearances.
From there on, that same presence in North London was felt in the northwest of the country, which would see him become a Toffee cult hero and the club's first-ever Black captain.
A hugely popular pundit during his retirement years, Campbell brought passion and support to many across multiple fanbases; a testament to who he was as a professional and a person.

Saliba is a decent tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He doesn't mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and is even proficient at playing his way out from the back. Standing at 1.92m, the French centre-back can use his powerful frame to win a lot of aerial duels. He has got a wealth of experience at the highest level and would be a great fit for Real Madrid's needs this summer. Saliba would bring more bite and steel to Xabi Alonso's defence. He is good enough to nail down a regular first-team spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next season. At 24, Saliba has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a dream signing for Los Blancos to pursue this off-season. He might even help the Madrid giants compete for a lot of major honours over the next few years.

Chelsea sell defender Ishe Samuels-Smith to Strasbourg

Chelsea have sold under-21 defender Ishe Samuels-Smith to Strasbourg for an undisclosed fee. Samuels-Smith went to the French club for talks earlier this month and has now joined on a permanent basis. The 19-year-old was signed from Everton in 2023 for £4million but despite being highly rated at the club, did not make an appearance for the senior side. Advertisement His expected chances of playing next season would be further reduced with Chelsea closing in on the signing Jorrel Hato from Ajax for a fee in excess of £40million. The Netherlands international will be primarily used at left back, which is where Samuels-Smith plays. Samuels-Smith, who signed a new deal at Stamford Bridge in April until 2031, is the latest player from Chelsea to go to Strasbourg, who are both owned by parent company BlueCo, this summer. Strasbourg bought midfielder Mathis Amougou for an undisclosed fee, while Mamadou Sarr and Mike Penders have joined on a season-long loan. Kendry Paez is also expected to move there on loan for the 2025-26 campaign.
