Xiaomi adds new colors to the 15 Ultra alongside a new photography kit

GSM Arena3 days ago

Xiaomi will freshen up its 15 Ultra for the summer with new colors and a matching new camera kit.
The new colors are a light blue (cyan?), purple, and classic Leica light brown, and they cover the leatherette part of the phone's back.
New too is a new, slimmer, and color-matched Photography kit. It weighs just 42 grams, has a two-stage shutter button, and an independent video button.
The kit is a single-piece unit (unlike the other Photography kit, which has a detachable grip with a built-in battery), and it comes with a color-matched camera strap.
Xiaomi hasn't yet listed any of the new colors or the new Photography kit on its website so we have no idea how much they'll cost or when they'll become available. There's also no word whether the fresher colors will make it outside of China. Xiaomi 15 Ultra

Apple didn't exactly announce these key iOS 26 features — but they are still on the way

Apple revealed many new features during this year's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 25), especially pertaining to productivity. But according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, there are still two iOS 26 features on the way that were not mentioned during the event. The first is live translation through AirPods. This would allow users to hear translations of spoken conversations in real time using their AirPods. It could be a helpful tool for travel or for talking with people who speak another language. Similar functionality has existed in rival products for some time, such as Google's Pixel Buds. Apple already announced other translation tools in iOS 26 , but this one was not included in the official presentation. Gurman believes it is still planned for release later this year, as he also discussed back in March. The second feature is related to Wi-Fi. Right now, Apple lets you share Wi-Fi passwords between your own devices if they are nearby and using the same iCloud account. The new feature would expand on this by allowing you to log into a Wi-Fi network at a hotel or gym and have that login information automatically sync across your other Apple devices. This would save time and make switching between devices more seamless. Last year, several WWDC announcements were delayed after the event, which likely led to a more cautious approach this time around. Even without a big announcement, these two features could be meaningful for many users. The live translation through AirPods could improve everyday communication, especially for frequent travelers. And automatic Wi-Fi syncing is a small change that could make a big difference in convenience. From what Gurman reports, both features are still expected to arrive with iOS 26 or in an update shortly after its release. They also show how Apple continues to focus on improving how its devices work together in daily situations. These kinds of updates might not be flashy, but they add real value to the user experience. We'll be keeping an eye out to see when they officially roll out in future iOS 26 beta versions or public updates. Secure your connection now at a bargain price! Weekly poll: are you interested in the vivo X200 FE?

Tiny flagships with mighty cameras – are smartphone makers finally giving the people what they want? The vivo X200 FE is not as capable as the X200 Pro mini, but at least it will be widely available – which is more than can be said of the OnePlus 13T. The vivo X200 FE has a 6.31' display and while it's taller, wider and heavier than the Galaxy S25, it is smaller than the Pixel 9 Pro and about the same size as the iPhone 16 Pro (except the iPhone weighs 13g more). It's almost exactly the same size as the OnePlus 13s (the version of the 13T available only in India). The FE uses the Dimensity 9300+ instead of a 9400-series chip like the Pro mini. That's still plenty of performance. And it has a 6,500mAh battery that will make even larger phones jealous, especially with 90W charging. The camera system features a 50MP main (1/1.56', OIS), 50MP 3x/70mm periscope and an 8MP ultra-wide, complete with Zeiss optics and a 50MP selfie camera. That's better than the 10MP 3x/67mm tele module that Samsung offers (and will keep offering on the S26, according to rumors), though it comes up short when compared against the 48MP 5x cameras of the Pixel 9 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro. Samsung Galaxy S25 • Google Pixel 9 Pro • Apple iPhone 16 Pro • OnePlus 13S You have to keep in mind that the vivo X200 FE is a lot cheaper than the Galaxy, Pixel or iPhone and competitive with the OnePlus. Here's a price comparison for Europe and India, based on MSRP (discounted prices go up and down all the time). Model Memory Europe India vivo X200 FE 12/256GB ??? ??? Galaxy S25 12/256GB €810 ₹81,000 Pixel 9 Pro 16/256GB €1,200 ₹100,000 iPhone 16 Pro 256GB €1,330 ₹130,000 OnePlus 13s 12/256GB N/A ₹55,000 Are you interested in the vivo X200 FE?

Weekly poll results: Huawei Pura 80 Ultra is a hit, no Google services is still a concern

Lack of Google Play Services is still a concern for many, but last week's poll shows that Huawei has not lost its mojo – the new Pura 80 Ultra in particular is a highly desirable phone. That said, it may be out of reach for many, literally or figuratively. The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra received a very warm welcome. If Huawei was still using Google-connected Android, this could have been one of the best selling premium phones of the year. It's not just Google Play access, though. When Huawei was embargoed by the US, it had to shrink its global distribution network and it still hasn't recovered. There was a debate over the overcomplicated telephoto camera – many felt that Huawei could have been clearer about that in its marketing. The camera offers a choice of 3.7x and 9.4x zoom, but it can't do full resolution shots at the longer focal length. The large 1/1.28' 50MP sensor is usable in full at 3.7x, but does a 2x crop when in 9.4x mode, which limits the resolution to 12.5MP. The Huawei Pura 80 Pro and Pro+ differ mainly in the more advanced satellite messaging support for the latter. And yet the Pura 80 Pro+ was the clear favorite between the two – it goes to show that satellite messaging will be an increasingly more important feature going forward. Anyway, neither Pro model was as popular as the Ultra, but they did alright. Finally, the vanilla Huawei Pura 80 got a surprising number of votes – we're used to seeing the vanilla model get the cold shoulder (it does have the advantage of not splitting the votes, unlike the Pro and Pro+). The usual considerations apply for the whole Pura 80 family. Some mentioned that apps like GBox can act as a replacement for Google Play Services and will allow you to run Google apps (and other apps that rely on Google APIs). Still, if any issues occur, you'd be on your own. That applies to warranty too – if you import a Pura 80, repairs and servicing will be difficult. And last but not least, 5G band support is an issue in some regions. Even with all that said, there is a good reason why Huawei was the biggest smartphone maker in the world for a bit. And phones like the Pura 80 family are a good reminder of that. If you are not deterred by the lack of Google services, mark July 10 on your calendar - that is the date of the global launch of the Huawei Mate 80 series. We are not sure whether all four models will be available (the Pro+ is a long shot). Also, we haven't seen any ads in the EU - but fans in South America, Africa and Asia can look forward to the new camera flagships.
