TOP Wallet's $28.5 Million Boost Sets Sights on U.S. and European Launch
The Open Platform, the team behind the Telegram Wallet on TON, has secured $28.5 million in a Series A round led by Ribbit Capital, propelling the company to a $1 billion valuation. The fundraising, achieved through the sale of 5% equity in traditional currency terms, positions TOP to expand its operations into the U. S. and European markets and to roll out blockchain-based games and AI-driven applications. TOP serves as the core developer for Telegram's official blockchain, The Open Network, and is responsible for creating and maintaining the Telegram Wallet, which facilitates peer-to-peer transfers within chats. The company will channel its new funds into market expansion and product development, aligning with its long-held strategy of leveraging Telegram's user base—now over a billion monthly active users—to advance the blockchain ecosystem. Ribbit Capital led the round, acquiring approximately 4–5% of TOP's equity. Other notable participants included Pantera Capital, reinforcing investor confidence in TON's growth potential. The funding arrived without any sale of cryptocurrency tokens, emphasising that the stake was purely equity-based. ADVERTISEMENT Since Telegram integrated TON in 2022, the ecosystem has witnessed rapid uptake. Metrics show active TON accounts rising from roughly 4 million to over 41 million, with more than 121 million unique Toncoin holders. Daily on-chain transactions surged from approximately 100,000 to 1.2 million, while total value locked has exceeded US $350 million. These figures underscore user engagement and the ecosystem's expanding financial activity. TOP's forthcoming initiatives include incubating blockchain-native games—both multiplayer and mini-app formats—that operate entirely on the TON chain. They will use Telegram's Mini‑App infrastructure, which is already adopted by over half a billion users. One such example is the viral 'Hamster Kombat' game, which has drawn over 300 million players and helped introduce mainstream audiences to blockchain functionality. AI-driven applications are another priority. TOP is developing tools and platforms that integrate machine learning models directly into TON-based environments, enabling chat-integrated utilities—such as fraud detection, financial analytics, and smart assistants—without departing the Telegram interface. Regulatory headwinds in the U. S. and Europe will present challenges. The SEC previously halted Telegram's launch of its native token, Gram, in 2020, leading to a refund and legal settlement. Now guided by Maximilian Crown—TON Foundation's newly appointed CEO with regulatory and compliance experience—TOP aims to navigate these complex legal environments. Crown's background at MoonPay, where he oversaw U. S. and European licensing, equips the project with added expertise as it seeks entry into compliant markets. Support from both traditional and crypto-focused investors reflects strong market confidence. Alongside Ribbit and Pantera, unicorn‐backed VCs such as Sequoia, Benchmark, and Kingsway have previously invested over $400 million in Toncoin, affirming institutional belief in TON's role as Telegram's blockchain layer. TOP's strategy reflects a broader shift within Web3—pursuing real-world use cases embedded into existing digital platforms. Using Telegram's 1 billion+ user base, BOTs, wallets, mini-apps, and secure messaging infrastructure, TOP aims to drive mass crypto adoption while sidestepping consumer-level friction. Analysts note that TOP's equity‑only raise is distinctive; contrast it with token sales that often involve community risk. By focusing on equity, TOP offers investors upside across its product stack—including wallets, DeFi tools, games, and AI utilities—without diluting with token allocation. Upcoming milestones include launching its U. S. and European operations before year‑end, unveiling its first wave of blockchain‑native games, and beta‑testing AI‑enhanced wallets and utility apps. With a valuation of $1 billion and deepening partnerships, TOP is well positioned to define Telegram's blockchain strategy beyond financial services into entertainment and artificial intelligence.

HYGGE HOTEL – A HOME OF HAPPINESS AT THE HEART OF EUROPE
Kleindienst Group today unveils the concept of Hygge Hotel, a new property set to open in H1 2027 as part of its visionary flagship destination, The Heart of Europe, on The World Islands. Taking its name from the Danish concept of hygge – a word that encapsulates the feeling of contentment, simplicity, and quiet joy – the hotel aims to create a home of happiness for guests to slow down and reconnect with what truly matters through experiences rooted in warmth, comfort and intentional design. With happiness as a lifestyle, every detail of the hotel with 96 rooms and four restaurants is carefully designed to encourage calm, connection, and well-being. From the soft textures and warm lighting to natural materials and intuitive service, the hotel is built to feel like home – no matter how far from home you are. The philosophy of hygge will be brought to life through every touchpoint of the guest experience: the design is warm and understated, with cosy corners, communal spaces, and intimate details that invite relaxation; meals are prepared with seasonal ingredients and served in a way that feels familiar and welcoming; and even wellness is approached with simplicity and care, through saunas, quiet rituals, and peaceful environments. Josef Kleindienst, Founder and Chairman of Kleindienst Group said: 'With Hygge Hotel, we are not just unveiling a new property, we are opening the doors to a home of happiness. This hotel is designed to offer guests a deep sense of comfort, calm, and connection. A sanctuary where joy lives in all the details. At Kleindienst Group, we believe true luxury is emotional and Hygge Hotel is where that emotion is embraced, nurtured, and brought to life through thoughtful, human-centred hospitality.' Matthias Hollwich, Founding Principal of HWKN Architecture commented: 'When developing the façade and interiors of Hygge Hotel, we were encouraged to approach the property as a distinct cultural story, viewing hospitality not just as a design, but as an emotional journey. As a German born and raised architect leading a New York City firm, we are perfectly positioned to bring European inspired design with New York ambitions to Dubai's place of vision. We focused on what the future of hospitality will look like and how to create experiences that exceed the expectation of travellers for years to come.' HWKN Architecture DPC, one of the most innovative firms globally, pioneers a new approach by merging AI with architecture. This process uses specific AI-driven prompts and research to shape buildings with contextual insight, programmatic intent, brand identity, and personality. For Hygge Hotel, it brings surprising experiences that push the boundaries of traditional design. Situated within The Heart of Europe, the Hygge Hotel becomes part of one of Dubai's most ambitious and visionary developments – a cluster of six themed islands inspired by the culture and architecture of diverse European regions. Designed to deliver immersive experiences rooted in innovation, sustainability, and European excellence, the destination now gains a new dimension with Hygge Hotel. It introduces a deeply personal and emotionally resonant layer, offering guests a haven of warmth and well-being within this iconic project. Sales of units will be officially launched during an exclusive event on 25th July 2025, and interested buyers can register their interest via The Heart of Europe website.

EU 'ready for a deal' as deadline in tariffs conflict with US looms
3 July 2025 17:30 AARHUS, DENMARK (dpa)European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Thursday stressed that the EU is aiming for a breakthrough in negotiations with the US on suspended tariff hikes."We are ready for a deal. We want a negotiated solution," von der Leyen told reporters in Aarhus, Denmark."But you all know that at the same time, we're preparing for the possibility that no satisfactory agreement is reached," she said, alluding to a list of possible countermeasures."We will defend the European interest as needed," she said. In April, US President Donald Trump paused special levies on imports from most trading partners, including the European Union for 90 days, prompting the bloc to suspend its planned countertariffs to allow for further talks. The 90-say period ends on July Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič is currently in Washington trying to reach an agreement, the commission president said. Pressed on whether a breakthrough was feasible in the coming days, von der Leyen said the EU was aiming to reach an agreement in principle similar to the trade deal between the UK and the US concluded in May.
