Major UK restaurant chain confirms sudden closure of all UK branches
Founded in 2005 by restaurateur Kurt Zdesar, said they are "incredible proud" of the restaurant's impact and the reception it received from customers.
On Instagram, the chain confirmed all its restaurants have now been shut down, saying: "It's a wrap. After 20 unforgettable years, all Ping Pong locations are now permanently closed.

'We're incredibly proud of what we built, an independent hospitality brand full of creativity, flavour and soul.
"To everyone who joined us over the years, for dim sum dates, happy hours, bottomless brunches, and just-because catch-ups – thank you.
'You shared your moments with us, passed around little parcels of deliciousness, and helped make Ping Pong what it was.
"To our collaborators, suppliers, and the incredible team who kept the steam going, thank you. It's been sum-thing truly special.'
Loyal customers of the chain took to the comments, each sharing their thoughts on the devastating news.
One wrote: "Noooo, we've made some amazing memories there, birthdays, anniversaries , you name it. The food was always so amazing"
Another commented: "This is very very sad. Will be sorely missed."
A third said: "WHAT?? WE HAD NO CHANCE TO SAY GOODBYE! NO WARNING."
A fourth posted: "We had so many good times there. The food and the lychee cocktails will be sorely missed."
While nother added: "Omgggggggggg nooooooooooo!!!!!!!! If I knew I'd have made one last trip. So sad."

Not only was it Noel and Liam's first time on stage together since 2009, it marked the first time that guitarist Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs had been on stage with both siblings for 25 years. They were joined by long-time Oasis members Andy Bell, previously of shoegaze icons Ride, and guitarist Gem Archer, who replaced Bonehead back in 1999. Completing the line up is new drummer Joey Waronker, who recently drummed on Liam Gallagher and John Squire's recent album. Touring members also include Christian Madden on keyboards, Jessica Greenfield on backing vocals, Alastair White on trombone, Steve Hamilton on saxophone and Joe Auckland on trumpet.

Incredible moment Liam and Noel Gallagher reunite at first Oasis gig in 16 years
This is the astonishing moment Liam and Noel Gallagher finally reunited on stage at Cardiff's Principality Stadium to perform an Oasis gig for the first time in almost 16 years. It was a moment that had been unthinkable for quite some time after Oasis famously split following a backstage row in Paris in 2009. The row sparked a fierce feud that saw the Gallagher brothers hurl insults at each other publicly over the years, but last summer they announced they were finally getting back together. Opening the Oasis Live '25 tour on Friday, the brothers put on a united performance at the Welsh capital's 74,500 capacity Principality Stadium, where they will also perform on Saturday. Fittingly, their first track was 1995's Hello, with the crowd going wild as Liam yelled: "It's been too long!" The show had been a long time coming for Oasis fans. The Gallaghers initially started the rock band in Manchester in 1991 and they rocketed to fame with the release of their debut album Definitely Maybe in August 1994. Their hit songs included Don't Look Back in Anger, Champagne Supernova, Wonderwall and Live Forever. They both pursued their own music after their break up, but fans had long wanted them to reunite and all eyes were on the show in Wales. Excitement was high ahead of the gig, with superfans queuing overnight. And Oasis was spelt out in a drone display over the stadium earlier in the week. Ahead of the reunion gig, Noel - who was spotted arriving in Cardiff on the train - told talkSPORT radio: "It's sounding huge... This is it, there's no going back now." Before Noel and Liam hit the stage on Friday, The Verve's Richard Ashcroft performed in a supporting slot. He revved up the crowd by chanting: "OASIS." 'So glad to be here with the greatest rock 'n' roll band,' he said. As excitement mounted, fans reported hearing strains of specific songs from inside rehearsals. Once they stepped out it was clear the night would be a walk through their greatest hits, with many favourites played. There had been rumours about Acquiesce being their opening track, but in the end they went with Hello, with Acquiesce the second song they performed. From there, the siblings moved through several crowd-pleasers and big hits, including Morning Glory, Some Might Say and Bring It On Down. They got the audience dancing during Cigarettes & Alcohol, before treating the enthralled fans to songs such as Fade Away, Supersonic and Roll With It. Noel then performed a segment alone, with tracks like Talk Tonight, Half The World Away and Little By Little. When his brother returned to his side after a brief break, the duo launched into D'You Know What I Mean?, Stand By Me and then Cast No Shadow and Slide Away. Other hits included Whatever, Rock 'n' Roll Star and Live Forever, during which a picture of late footballer Diogo Jota appeared on the screen. The Liverpool player and his brother died in a car accident in Spain this week. Jota, who was 28, had married his partner just 11 days before he died. As the show started nearing its end, Liam and Noel performed The Masterplan and Don't Look Back In Anger. They ended with Wonderwall, which reached number two in the UK in 1995, and Champagne Supernova. Former Oasis band members Gem Archer, Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs and Andy Bell joined the brothers on stage during the show, along with drummer Joey Waronker, who has previously toured with Liam. Oasis' last performance together before Cardiff was at V Festival in 2009, the same year that they fell out. Since then fans had been calling for a reunion. Rumours of a comeback started swirling again in 2024 then in August that year, Liam and Noel confirmed that it was finally happening. They posted on social media: "The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see." They also made it clear that the gigs weren't being televised. However, Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight is turning the reunion tour into a movie. After Cardiff, Oasis will hit the road for tour dates at Manchester's Heaton Park, London's Wembley Stadium, Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium and Dublin's Croke Park. These will cover off July, August and September. Then the band will take to the sky to perform in countries all over the world from Japan, South Korea, South America and Australia to North America.

Ringo Starr says he asked for script changes in Sam Mendes' Beatles biopic: 'That's not how we were'
Ringo Starr is all about peace and love — but that doesn't mean he's afraid of pushing back. The legendary musician has revealed that he had some notes for Sam Mendes, the filmmaker set to helm four separate movies about each member of the Beatles. With each film set to follow one of the band members, Starr told The New York Times that he spent two days with the acclaimed director, offering "extensive notes" on the script about his life, especially when it came his relationship with his family and first wife, Maureen Starkey Tigrett. "He had a writer — very good writer, great reputation, and he wrote it great, but it had nothing to do with Maureen and I," Starr said. "That's not how we were. I'd say, 'We would never do that.'" Starr, who will be portrayed in the film by Saltburn actor Barry Keoghan, wed Tigrett in 1965 and divorced a decade later. They had three children together, including former The Who drummer Zak Starkey, son Jason, and daughter Lee. After going through the script line-by-line, Starr said he is now satisfied with how he's depicted — but has some doubts about Mendes' ability to deliver all four films by 2028. "But he'll do what he's doing," Starr concluded. "And I'll send him peace and love.' In May, Mendes took the stage at CinemaCon with the four actors set to star in his unconventional biopic project: along with Keoghan as Starr, fans will see Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison. Mendes said in his announcement that the separate films would enable the examination of the "four very different human beings" in the group. Penned by Tony Award winner Jez Butterworth (Ford v Ferrari, Spectre), Academy Award winner Peter Straughan (Conclave, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) and Tony Award winner Jack Thorne (Adolescence, Enola Holmes), all four films are set to hit theaters simultaneously in April 2028. Half a year before Mendes' announcement, Starr accidentally confirmed rumors that Keoghan would be playing him, calling the casting choice "great." He added, "I think he's somewhere taking drum lessons, and I hope not too many." As for Keoghan, the actor later shared that he had not only met with Starr but watched the legendary musician in his element. "I met him at his house, and he played the drums for me," the actor told Jimmy Kimmel in May. "He asked me to play, but I wasn't playing the drums for Ringo."Keoghan shared that he was starstruck in Starr's presence, but made sure to take it all in: "My job is to observe and kinda take in mannerisms and study him.
