Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor have done several films together- Ajnabee, Talaash, Dosti, Aitraaz, Good Newwz, and Kambakkht Ishq, to name a few. Producer Pahlaj Nihalani has now spoken to a channel called Learn From The Legend, and revealed how the actor wished to have the actress on board for their film Talaash that came out in 2003.
Nihalani revealed, 'Earlier, producers and directors used to cast and heroes wouldn't interfere in casting. The first actor to interfere in casting with me was Akshay Kumar in Talash in 2002. He told me that 'we can start the movie tomorrow, and you can give me any amount that you want, but the heroine of this film will be Kareena Kapoor.' It was one of the most costly films of that time, it was made in Rs 22 crore. This was the first time in my career that an actor had demanded a certain cast.'

The producer also said, 'Sometimes, as the actors grow old they want to star against younger actresses so that their own age looks less. That was the first time I heard that, but these days actors decide everything and producers work as a courier service.'
The first half of Bollywood has been a rollercoaster with back-to-back releases. It's been a mixed bag at the box office with a string of projects emerging as hits, and several films tanking. Amid this volatility, Akshay Kumar starrer releases soared past the ongoing unpredictability. In addition to Sky Force, Kesari Chapter 2, and Housefull 5, a string of other releases like Chhaava, Raid 2, and Sitaare Zameen Par entered the hit club.
With three major hit releases in a span of six months, Akshay Kumar is shaping the evolving dynamics of Bollywood. His first release of the year, 'Sky Force' collected Rs.131.44 crore, followed by the cinematic masterpiece 'Kesari Chapter 2' with an impressive collection of Rs.93.28 crore and his latest release 'Housefull 5' earning Rs.156.40 crore, and is still continuing its theatrical run.

Akshay Kumar vs Shah Rukh Khan: Clash happened 5 times between them and the winner is...

In the world of Bollywood, box office clashes are always exciting for fans, especially when two big stars go head-to-head. Among the most talked-about rivalries is that between Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan. Over the years, their films have been released on the same day not once, but five times, making headlines each time. Audiences and trade experts have closely followed these showdowns to see who comes out on top. While both have strong fan bases and box office pull, one actor has clearly had the upper hand in most of these clashes. Let's take a look at the numbers. The Beginning Of The Epic Clash Shah Rukh Khan's film 'Maya Memsaab' and Akshay Kumar's film 'Waqt Hamara Hai' were released together in the year 1993. On the first day, 'Maya Memsaab' collected Rs 4 lakh and 'Waqt Hamara Hai' collected Rs 25 lakh. However, if we talk about the total collection, 'Waqt Hamara Hai' surpassed 'Maya Memsaab'. Clash Number 2 After this, in the year 1997, there was a clash between Shah Rukh Khan's 'Yes Boss' and Akshay Kumar's film 'Daava'. 'Yes Boss' collected Rs 11.33 crore and 'Dawa' collected Rs 3.36 crore. After their final run concluded in theatres, 'Yes Boss' emerged as a clear winner. Clash Number 3 In the year 2004, Shah Rukh Khan's epic 'Veer-Zaara' and Akshay Kumar's critically acclaimed 'Aitraaz' were released together. 'Veer-Zaara' collected Rs 41.86 crore and 'Aitraaz' collected Rs 15.58 crore. 'Veer-Zaara' featured Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Rani Mukerji in leading roles, while 'Aitraaz' included Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, and Kareena Kapoor. Clash Number 4 In 2006, Shah Rukh Khan's cult classic 'Don' clashed with Akshay Kumar's 'Jaan-e-Mann'. Salman Khan was also with Akshay in 'Jaan-e-Mann'. This time too, Shah Rukh Khan defeated Akshay Kumar, even by a big margin. SRK starrer earned over Rs 4 crore net on its opening day, while 'Jaan-E-Mann' earned Rs 2.43 crore net. After its final run, 'Don' grossed Rs 50 crore in India, while Akshay Kumar starrer grossed Rs 25 crore. The Final Clash Till Date Shah Rukh Khan's 'Chennai Express' and Akshay Kumar's 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara' were released on 15 August. 'Chennai Express' collected Rs 227.13 crore and 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara' collected Rs 61 crore, and became a huge box office dud. These figures clearly signify that this epic clash was won by King Khan, as their last clash was considered in 2013. However, the two superstars also had averted clash with a difference of week in 2017, as SRK's 'Jab Harry Met Sejal' was released with Akshay's 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.'

Paresh Rawal Slams Excessive Sex, Abuse In Web Shows: 'Cheap Tactics To Grab Eyeballs'

Paresh Rawal slams use of cuss words and sex scenes in shows, says content must be thoughtful, not just created to grab eyeballs with shock value. Paresh Rawal has been in the headlines for quite some time now due to the controversy surrounding his next film with Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty — Hera Pheri 3. Rawal, known for expressing his opinions openly, has now spoken out about the excessive use of abusive language and intimate scenes in films and shows just to grab eyeballs. In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, the veteran actor shared an example to highlight his point and said, 'A woman filed a complaint saying that a man was roaming around naked. The police came but didn't see anything. So the woman said, 'Climb up on a stool and look.' The point is – if you're determined to find filth, you'll find it." Parash Rawal further elaborated on the use of sex scenes in content, adding, 'Content is a mirror of society, we show what exists. But we must use our judgment wisely. Not everything in society needs to be shown as-is; some things can be portrayed in a suggestive or subtle manner." Rawal continued, 'Baad mein log isliye uub gaye the, kyunki har doosri teesri series mein gaaliyan aati thi, sex scenes hote the — woh bhi bina kisi matlab ke. It began to feel like these were just cheap tactics to attract eyeballs. But the audience got tired. And when the makers didn't stop, the government had to step in," he concluded. Earlier this year, fans were left disheartened when Paresh announced that he would not be returning to the iconic role of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, citing personal reasons and creative differences. His unexpected exit was reportedly followed by Akshay Kumar filing a legal notice due to the impact on production timelines. However, things seem to have taken a positive turn in recent weeks. During a recent podcast with Himanshu Mehta, Paresh confirmed his return, quipping, 'The film was going to happen anyway; we just needed a bit of fine-tuning. After all, everyone involved, Priyadarshan, Akshay, Suniel, we've been friends for so many years. It was just a matter of realigning." Now, with Priyadarshan back in the director's chair and the original cast reunited, Hera Pheri 3 promises a nostalgic yet fresh comic ride. Fans can't wait to revisit the chaotic world of Raju, Shyam, and Babu Bhaiya and see what hilarious mess they land themselves in next. First Published:
