Maharashtra government removes 2289 ineligible women from Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin scheme

Upon identification, the benefits of the scheme were discontinued for the women, Tatkare said.
The Ladki Bahin Yojana, launched by the Women and Child Development Department and the Government of Maharashtra, aims to provide financial support to eligible women across the state.
Under the scheme, women from age group 21 to 65 are given financial benefit of Rs 1,500 through direct benefit transfer for improving their health and nutrition and strengthening their decisive role in the family.
Earlier today, in a major move to boost industrial development and job creation in Maharashtra, the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Industries, chaired by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, approved investment proposals worth Rs 1,35,371.58 crore in thrust sectors and high-technology-based industries.
These projects are expected to generate around 1 lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities across the state.chief minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that these projects would promote technological innovation, research, development, and employment generation, strengthening Maharashtra's industrial ecosystem.
The 12th meeting of the cabinet sub-committee, formed under the CM's leadership to approve incentives under the package scheme of incentives (PSI) and thrust sector policies for large and mega projects, was held today in the committee hall at the state legislature.
Deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, Industries Minister Uday Samant, chief secretary Rajesh Kumar, Additional chief secretaries OP Gupta (Finance), Rajgopal Deora (Planning), and other senior officials from various departments were present.

A total of 19 large, mega, and ultra-mega projects were considered for special incentives based on their investment scale and employment potential. Of these, 17 projects were approved. The projects include manufacturing in semiconductors, silicon ingots and wafers, solar cells and modules, EV components, lithium-ion batteries, aerospace and defence equipment, textiles, green steel, and greenfield gas-to-chemicals production.
These 17 approved projects will bring in investments worth Rs 1,35,371.58 crore and create approximately 1 lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities in Maharashtra.

MUMBAI: The Securities Exchange Board (SEBI), which has debarred Jane Street Group from accessing the securities markets and impounded as much as Rs 4,843 crore of illegal gains from manipulating the Bank Nifty index, is probing the other indices apart from both the exchanges. It means that it is only the tip of the iceberg and that the ongoing probe, which is likely to take at least six more months to complete, will unearth much bigger negative surprises. SEBI sources who are aware of the ongoing probe said,"the current interim order is based on the probe into just three -- HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Kotak Bank, which constitute as much as 65 per cent of the index weighting -- of the 12 Bank Nifty stocks. For a more meaningful and conclusive outcome, the regulator is continuing to probe the trading patterns in the other nine bank nifty stocks as well as all other indices as well as both exchanges.' However, the sources quickly added that the regulator does not suspect that there are many other likely culprits. 'The interim order is not a show cause notice, and it clearly indicates that investigations into Jane Street will continue." On the timing of the order, a source said the regulator wanted to ensure that the market was not jolted on a normal day, so they chose the day after the expiry. On why SEBI rushed an interim report and not a final order, the source said that his underlying is that the SEBI felt that any delay would have lead to more losses for the harried retail investors as on each index expiry day, they were tricked to buying at a higher price and then forced to sell at a deep loss. "So, had they waited for a final order, it would have led to more losses, as they could easily take another six months at least, due to the kind of data mining they would have to do," the source added.

Gujarat CM felicitates newly elected sarpanches, warns them against being misguided towards corruption
Stressing that the state government has a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel Friday warned the newly elected Sarpanches and members of the gram panchayats in Gujarat against graft, asking them to guard against 'being misguided by anybody'. Addressing a function in Gandhinagar to felicitate the newly elected Sarpanches and members of gram panchayats, the CM said, 'The governments of the state and Centre allocate sufficient money for the development of villages. Today, by allocating a grant of Rs 1,236 to the gram panchayats, (the government has) attained the resolve of fulfilling what is promised. This money, Rs 1,236 crore, too, will go to the accounts of you all.' He further said, 'Since I have talked about money, let me tell you that it is not worth it to run after money. Else, you know that there is zero tolerance currently… No one has been spared once caught and no one will be spared in the future as well. All of you are new, so you should be careful that nobody misguides you.' Referring to the recently held elections of gram panchayats, the CM said that they have broken all the records. 'As per the information I have, this time, the number of Sarpanches in the age group of 21-40 is 42%. Among them, the number of Sarpanches below the age of 30 are 616 while 1,341 of them are between the age of 31 and 40. As many as 1,337 Sarpanches are between the ages of 41 and 50, while 1,326 are above 50 years old… And one of them, sitting here, has done Ph D,' CM Patel said. In May, the Gujarat State Election Commission had declared elections to 4,564 gram panchayats in the state. Out of them, 761 have emerged as Samras Gram Panchayats where the villagers chose their Sarpanch and ward members through consensus; 56 of them are Mahila Samras Gram Panchayats. On Friday, as the newly elected Sarpanches and ward members were felicitated, the CM also disbursed over Rs 35 crore to the Samras Gram Panchayats for village development. On the occasion, the CM announced a decision of the government to double the allocation of funds for cleanliness in villages. He said that the allocation of Rs 4 per person for cleanliness in a village has been hiked to Rs 4 per person. Held at Mahatma Mandir Convention Centre in Gandhinagar, the function was also attended by Union Minister for Jal Shakti and Gujarat BJP Chief C R Paatil, Rural Development ministers Raghavji Patel and Kunvarji Halpati, among others. Addressing the function, Paatil asked the newly elected Sarpanches and panchayat members to take up the responsibility of cleanliness and water conservation in their respective villages. Paatil said through water conservation, his ministry wants to bring out 150 districts of the country from the tag of dark zones. Earlier in the day, Union Minister for Jal Shakti C R Paatil also inaugurated a Solar Frame Plant of a private company, H&H Aluminium Private Limited, in Rajkot. Paatil virtually inaugurated the plant from a function in Ahmedabad. Addressing the gathering, Paatil called upon the industries to come forward in complementing the government's efforts towards water conservation by recharging the groundwater level.

Nod given to hire consultant for walk-in aviary at Kankaria Zoo
Ahmedabad: The heritage and recreational committee of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Friday approved a proposal to appoint a consultant for the development of a walk-in aviary at Kankaria Zoo. Established in 1951, the zoo's bird enclosures have deteriorated over time. Many are too small, restricting the movement of birds and limiting the viewing experience for visitors. To address these issues, the AMC has decided to construct a walk-in aviary at cost of Rs 24 crore. A consultant will prepare the detailed project report (DPR), design the facility, assist in the tender process, and oversee project implementation. The consultant will receive a fee equivalent to 2.5% of the total project cost.
