UAE football clubs support ban, fine on football players after behavioural violation
The UAE Football Association on Sunday suspended two players — Sharjah Club player Khalid Al Dhanhani and Shabab Al Ahli Club player Sultan Adel — and fined them both Dh500,000 each.
As per the statement, the two players were penalised due to the violations committed by them inside the national team camp on June 7.
Both the clubs issued official statements, supporting the temporary ban imposed on the players, which bars them from playing five matches in local competitions.

Sharjah Club said it had "closely reviewed" the statement issued by the authority regarding the suspension of Khalid Al-Zanahani, his exclusion from the national team squad, and the imposition of a fine.
The club stated that it had "initiated the necessary disciplinary procedures against the player in accordance with the club's internal regulations, reflecting its commitment to the principles of discipline and responsibility".
"The club regrets the occurrence of such conduct during the national team training camp and emphasises that representing the country is a great honour that requires all players to maintain professional behavior and full discipline.
"Furthermore, the club reiterates its continued support for the national teams and affirms its dedication to preparing its players to be role models both on and off the field, in a manner that reflects the honorable image of Emirati football," it concluded.
Shabab Al Ahli Club, on the other hand, "strongly" rejected and condemned the behaviour of its player Sultan Adel and said it had taken the necessary disciplinary action against him in accordance with its internal regulations.
Calling players "ambassadors of the nation", the club emphasised that it was their responsibility to reflect a respectable image through their adherence to values, discipline, and sportsmanship.
It also reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to supporting national teams and upholding the name of the UAE in regional and international arenas.
Previous incidents
The UAE maintains strict laws when it comes to hosting sporting games and other events.
In May, Dubai-based football clubs Al Wasl and Shabab Al Ahli were fined a total of Dh150,000 following events that unfolded during the Adnoc Pro League match.
The fans of both the clubs insulted each other, and threw liquid bottles onto the pitch and at the opposing team's fans. Al Wasl fans also a smoke bomb.

Rugby World Cup qualifying: UAE claim Sri Lanka scalp to move closer to Asia-Africa play-off
The UAE have done their bit, and in some style, too, with a 29-21 victory in Sri Lanka. Now they need Hong Kong to do them a favour on Saturday, and their Rugby World Cup qualification adventure will continue. Jack Stapley scored two tries, and Sakiusa Naisau and Brad Janes one apiece, as the national team claimed a bonus-point win in Colombo. It means that South Korea need to upset the formbook and beat the five-time defending champions Hong Kong to deprive the UAE of second place in the 2025 Asia Rugby Championship. If the UAE do finish runners-up, they will head to Uganda later this month for a play-off against the second-best side in the equivalent competition in Africa. The Africa Cup starts this weekend in Kampala. Namibia are favourites to win the competition, which also involves Zimbabwe, Kenya, Uganda, Ivory Coast, Algeria, Morocco and Senegal. The winners of the play-off will advance to the four-team event in November which will decide the final qualifier for the 2027 World Cup. Andrew Semple, the UAE captain, said his side are glad to still be in with a shot. 'We started very well, but let things slip as the game went on, and it ebbed and flowed,' he said after the win in Colombo. 'We are not very happy with our overall performance. It was a bit under par but we are just happy that we came away with a win and can move on in the tournament.' The UAE were giving away three places in the World Rugby rankings to their host, but travelled to Sri Lanka full of confidence. Abu Dhabi Police issue warning over tyre safety
Police in Abu Dhabi have urged motorists to check their tyres before driving as part of its summer safety campaign. The force issued the warning on its social media channels while sharing footage of accidents that occurred in the emirate due to poor tyre safety. The call was made as part of Abu Dhabi Police's Safe Summer and Summer Without Accidents campaigns. Police instructed drivers to check their tyres, ensure their safety and to make sure there is no damage or cracks that can cause traffic accidents as a result of high temperatures. Drivers who fall foul of the rules risk a Dh500 fine and four penalty points on their licences, added the post on Abu Dhabi Police's Instagram page. Motorists were also advised to check each tyre's year of manufacture and that they fit their vehicles properly.
