Four 13-year-olds released on bail after alleged attack on classmate at Kajang mall
Kajang district police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said the remand for the suspects, which was initially extended until tomorrow, was concluded earlier following the completion of documentation and investigative procedures.
'To date, police have recorded statements from nine individuals, including the four students,' he said in a statement.
Preliminary investigations suggest the incident was triggered by dissatisfaction among the suspects with the victim's manner of communication and interaction.
On July 30, the Form One student lodged a police report alleging classmates beat him at about 11 am at the mall. He later received medical treatment and was confirmed to have sustained minor facial injuries.
The case is being investigated under Sections 323 and 506 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation, as well as Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955. — Bernama

The prime minister said he had discussed the matter with Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail and Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail to ensure the probe is conducted swiftly and comprehensively. 'There was a death recently, and the Education Minister (Fadhlina Sidek) is being attacked and accused of various things. What has become of our country? This death is not a trivial matter,' he said during his speech at the closing ceremony of the National Farmers, Breeders and Fishermen Day 2025 here today. Also present were Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu and his deputy Datuk Seri Arthur Joseph Kurup. Indonesian man held over fake immigration stamps at KLIA's Terminal 1
PUTRAJAYA, Aug 3 — The Malaysia Checkpoints and Border Agency (MCBA) reported that an Indonesian man was detained yesterday afternoon after being found with suspicious security stamps during immigration checks at the departure hall of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1. Initial investigations revealed that the man had entered Malaysia via the Pasir Gudang entry point in Johor on July 18, 2022, and was recorded as having left the country through KLIA on Aug 13, 2022. 'However, several entry and exit security stamps bearing his name from 2022 to 2025 raised doubts,' the agency said in a statement today. Further checks through the MyIMMs system found no official records of the man's movements in or out of Malaysia during that period. He later admitted to investigators that he had never left Malaysia since 2022 and had paid RM4,000 to obtain the fake stamps. The agency said the case pointed to possible involvement in a 'flying' syndicate, a term used for fraudulent immigration stamping. MCBA said further investigations will be carried out to identify those behind the activity and to pursue disciplinary action and criminal charges for passport forgery or other immigration offences. — Bernama

Father of boy found buried in Jempol to face multiple charges as murder probe wraps up, says Johor police chief
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 3 — Johor police have received the green light to charge the father of a six-year-old boy, whose body was found buried in Jempol, Negeri Sembilan, last month. According to Utusan Malaysia, Johor police chief Datuk M. Kumar said the suspect will face charges for allegedly assaulting his wife and lodging a false report about his son's disappearance. However, a murder charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code is being handled by Negeri Sembilan police and must be completed first, he added. 'The suspect will be charged in the Johor Bahru court after the investigation under Section 302 in Jempol is finalised,' he said during a press conference at the Johor police headquarters today. Kumar said the suspect is being investigated in Johor under Sections 323 and 324 of the Penal Code, Section 18 of the Domestic Violence Act 1994, read together with Section 326A of the Penal Code for allegedly injuring his wife, and Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001. 'We have received instructions to press charges, but it will proceed once the Section 302 case is concluded,' he added, as reported by Utusan Malaysia. On July 24, the child was reported missing from Taman Bukit Indah, Iskandar Puteri. He was later found dead and buried in Rompin, Jempol. Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof confirmed the body was discovered after the arrest of the child's 36-year-old father by Johor police. A post-mortem revealed that the boy died from strangulation with a cable tie, Utusan Malaysia reported. Kumar said the suspect's wife lodged a police report at the Seri Alam district headquarters on July 22, alleging she had been assaulted. She also claimed her husband had absconded with their only child. 'Following her report, we opened an investigation under Section 323 of the Penal Code and Section 18 of the Domestic Violence Act. The suspect was arrested and later released on police bail,' he said. The man later filed his own report, claiming he had left the child in a car and that the boy had gone missing. That led police to open another investigation under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001, as well as a missing person case. 'During questioning, his statements were inconsistent and raised suspicion. He was rearrested and remanded in Johor,' Kumar said, as quoted by Utusan Malaysia. Further questioning led to the discovery of the boy's remains. The suspect was later handed over to Negeri Sembilan police for investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
