Stung by govt's PPP, BRS MP walks out of all-party meeting
The BRS leader had initially attended the presentation delivered by Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy at the Secretariat. However, Vaddiraju Ravichandra walked out of the meeting in protest against what he termed the Congress government's 'political malfeasance' in organising a Public Private Partnership (PPP) on the Godavari-Banakacherla linkage project. MP Ravichandra unequivocally stated that undertaking this project is illegal and unjust, and that his party strongly opposes it. He urged the state government to strongly voice its case before the Centre on behalf of the people of Telangana, opposing this project proposal and calling for its immediate cancellation. Mr Ravichandra, who exited the meeting expressing strong objection to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's accusations against KCR without considering BRS's suggestions and recommendations, said that as per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, if a state undertakes a new project, it must discuss the project details in the Apex Council and obtain approval.
Ravichandra expressed regret that the Centre has taken steps to grant project approvals without convening an Apex Council meeting to discuss these actions taken by the Andhra Pradesh government in violation of the Reorganisation Act. 'We request the Chief Minister to write a letter to the Central Water Resources Department to immediately convene an Apex Council meeting.
These issues that are hurting the interests of Telangana should be taken to Delhi soon,' said Ravichandra. He further urged the government to convene a special Assembly session where a unanimous resolution should be passed to stop the Polavaram Banakacherla project and sent to the Centre. BRS leaders K Kishore Goud, B Ramamurthy, J Jagan Mohan and others were also present.

KTR pins hooliganism tag on Cong; says industries fleeing
Hyderabad: The BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday alleged that the Congress leaders were threatening the Kitex company which has come forward to set up Textile Park in Warangal to provide 25,000 jobs and expressed concerns that there was a danger of industries fleeing due to hooliganism by the Congress leaders. The BRS leader made these comments while participating in the distribution of sewing machines and KCR kits to women in Parakala constituency as part of the Gift A Smile program on Sunday. Rama Rao alleged that Congress leaders were threatening Kitex, which has announced that it will provide 25,000 jobs in the country's largest Kakatiya Textile Park. 'The Congress' hooliganism to provide jobs to only those they recommend has led to a situation where industries are fleeing,' said Rama Rao, criticising that while BRS wanted to bring industries to the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park and provide jobs to the youth of Telangana, Congress leaders were conspiring to loot it vertically. The BRS leader further said that the estimates of Rs 137 crore prepared in January for the construction of a canal in the Kakatiya Textile Park have increased to Rs 297 crore due to the greed of Congress ministers and MLAs. The Congress leaders of Warangal district wanted to loot Rs 167 crore in the name of canal construction. He said that the looting being done by Congress leaders will not stop if they are not questioned and said that they will protest against these irregularities in the upcoming assembly sessions. KTR further said that KCR has done justice to BCs in the past, and he was the only one who would give due priority to the common people tomorrow too. He said that Congress MLAs and ministers would fall in line only if BRS candidates win with impressive majorities in the local body elections. KTR said that the state government owes Rs 50,000 to every girl child in Telangana. The Revanth government, which should have given Rs 3,000 crore to self-help groups was celebrating by giving only Rs 300 crore. He said that the Congress government gave Rythu Bandhu during Lok Sabha elections and now as there are Panchayat elections.

MV Act changes on the anvil to make guidelines mandatory for states
NEW DELHI: The Centre is working on a proposal to amend the Motor Vehicles (MV) Act to ensure that key guidelines issued by the Union Government become binding on states, government sources said. The move aims to address the current legal ambiguity arising from the concurrent nature of legislation on motor vehicles, where both the Centre and states have law-making powers. Officials say delays or inaction by some states on critical reforms create a legal vacuum, hampering the uniform implementation of road safety and transport policies. 'If states don't act on certain matters, important reforms are left out. The idea is to avoid a situation where nothing moves forward due to jurisdictional gaps,' a source said, adding that discussions are underway and the final proposal is likely to be taken up soon. The proposed changes would make select Central guidelines mandatory, particularly those related to road safety, vehicle regulation, and transport policy.
