Masked Singer's Davina makes cheeky request during final

Yahoo15-02-2025

The Masked Singer's Davina McCall couldn't contain her love for Marti Pellow after he was revealed to be Wolf during Saturday, 15 February's grand final.
Famed for being the lead singer of Wet Wet Wet, the Scotsman finished in third place behind Dressed Crab and Pufferfish, and after unmasking himself Pellow stuck to tradition by performing one last time infront of the studio audience; presenter Joel Dommett and panellists McCall, Jonathan Ross, Maya Jama and Danny Jones.
Clearly enamoured by the singer, the former Big Brother star took this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ask if he wouldn't mind going off-script by belting out his band's biggest tune 'Love Is All Around'.
After audibly squealing at the sight of a de-wolfed Pellow, McCall yelled: "Oh my God! Very sexy Marti," before the cheeky request came into play.
"I don't know if we're allowed to do this so you'll have to let me know Joel, but I want you to sing that now," she added, referring to 'Love Is All Around'.
"Can you make that happen Joel?"

Touching his earpiece, the TV presenter said: "I'm not listening to them, YES YOU CAN DO IT! I have no authority but I'm saying yes!"
Before obliging the panellist with a crowd-pleasing rendition, Pellow himself described the Masked Singer experience as "incredible".
Following Pellow's elimination from the final line-up, it was down to just Dressed Crab and Pufferfish for the Masked Singer crown.
Two-time Grammy Award winner Gregory Porter was then unmasked as Dressed Crab following a studio audience vote.
Known for his soul, jazz and gospel music, Porter will tour across 12 UK venues this spring.
This opened the floor for winner Samantha Barks to unveil herself as Pufferfish infront of the nation.
The West End actress, who has appeared in Les Misérables, Frozen, and Oliver! amongst other productions, commented: "I think for me because I've played Elsa for three years, it's been fun to just do lots of different stuff and every week I just wanted to do a new kind of style or a new kind of song and that was really fun.
"But also I feel like I've lived this double life, because I've had these crazy experiences but nobody in my life knows this, I love it!"
Numerous fans writing on social media were rather underwhelmed by the outcome, though, citing no knowledge of Barks and her work. "Well done, lady. Sorry don't know you," read one reaction on X.
