
Winnipeg's Disraeli Bridge closed as police respond to incident
The Disraeli Bridge in Winnipeg's North Point Douglas neighbourhood is closed Saturday as police respond to an incident.
A tactical armoured vehicle and at least a dozen other police vehicles were seen around the bridge, with several officers on the scene.
The bridge is closed both ways for pedestrians, vehicles and boats, Winnipeg police said on social media.
Access is also off limits to the bridge's off-ramp to Sutherland Avenue.
It's unclear what the nature of the incident is. Police did not provide additional information in their social media post.

'Unfortunately, the investigation has now turned to recovery,' police said, adding the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit will assist with the investigation.

York Regional Police said they received a call for an animal complaint in the area of Highway 27 and King Road at 12:14 p.m. The boy was taken to the hospital with minor leg injuries, police said. The Toronto Wildlife and Vaughan Animal Services have been notified. Police said there have been reports of coyote sightings in the area and are urging the public to exercise caution.
