Where to stream Oasis documentary 'Supersonic' as Liam and Noel Gallagher return to Manchester
As Liam and Noel Gallagher bring their highly anticipated Live '25 reunion tour to Manchester's Heaton Park this weekend, the critically acclaimed documentary Oasis: Supersonic is now available to stream for free in the UK.
The 2016 documentary shows fans an insight into the band's beginnings back in the early 90s, blending archive footage with interviews with the band, including Liam and Noel and follows their success into the late 1990s.
Supersonic begins with Oasis' formation in 1991, showing their rise to fame throughout the years and finishes with their iconic performance at Knebworth in 1996. From director Mat Whitecross and executive producers Asif Kapadia and Oscar-winner James Gay-Rees from the film Amy, Supersonic offers a powerful look at Oasis's rise.
Channel 4's streaming service has now made the documentary available to watch for free, helping fans gear up for upcoming tour dates in Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin - following two standout shows at Cardiff's Principality Stadium.
The documentary is free to watch with adverts, or without adverts if you fancy paying Channel 4's monthly subscription that starts at £3.99 a month with a 7-day free trial.
However the documentary is only available to stream until August 4, so fans better watch it while they still can.
If fans miss the opportunity to watch the documentary for free on Channel 4, it is available for purchase on Apple TV from £3.49, with a valid Apple TV subscription.
The documentary was a hit with critics and fans, having gained an 84% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The news outlet NME called Supersonic "rousing, heart-rending and really funny."
While Espinof, the Spanish outlet, wrote that it was "not the most honest movie about the group, but definitely, maybe, the best documentary about a rock band to this date".
Fans were quick to give their opinion on the documentary with one fan, writing on the review site Rotten Tomatoes: "An insight into the highs and lows of being part of one of the greatest rock bands of all time. A one to watch for all music fans."
While another simply stated: "Such a good documentary ! 10/10."
The 2016 documentary may not be the last, as there have been reports of a new film in the works documenting Oasis's long-awaited reunion. Although Liam Gallagher was quick to shut down the rumours.
Back in October, the 52-year-old responded to a fan question on X, formerly known as Twitter about a possible new documentary, saying: "We're not doing 1 I'm not gonna be in it anyway I'm doing the gigs there's been enough said about this band it's time to get Rocking and Rolling not yapping and scrapping."
However, it seems Oasis fans are still hopeful, with one fan replying to the rock legend: "You guys can make new memories now and then perhaps there can be a doc down the road."

More info After a weekend of scorching heat in the Welsh capital, things cooled down to create a blissful evening as the sun set on Cardiff Castle for Rag 'n' Bone Man's Sunday evening show. It was the perfect way to round off a big week of music in the city - hot off the heels of Oasis' takeover last weekend, followed by Stevie Wonder and two gigs at the Principality Stadium for Welsh rock legends Stereophonics. Rag 'n' Bone Man's epic voice and golden weather were a perfect combination for another fantastic evening at the stunning venue, where the TK Maxx presents Depot Live summer gigs are well and truly under way. The Brit award-winning artist from Eastbourne – accompanied by a talented band and two backing vocalists – performed a perfect balance of up-tempo tracks and tender ballads. The singer - whose real name is Rory Graham - treated the crowd to songs from throughout his career, including all his biggest hits, as well as a number of unreleased tracks. Lovers In A Past Life was the crowd-pleasing opener to get everybody going swiftly followed by Skin, Grace, Hard Came The Rain and Human also featured, while the beautiful Put A Little Love On Me drew the night to a close before he performed the anthemic Giant. Opening the night was singer-songwriter Jamie Grey followed by Elles Bailey, who put on a bubbly and confident performance in some fabulous cowboy boots. But Rag 'n' Bone Man who quickly made it clear that it was his night. His vocals were effortless from the moment he stepped on stage. Charming and clearly grateful to be in front of a crowd at the beautiful venue, it was clear that everyone was in for a good night. While not a showy performer who dedicates lots of chat between songs, Rag 'n' Bone Man still took the time to interact with the audience when the right moment arose. After the first song, his son Ruben came out to throw a signed plane out into the crowd. He also graciously stopped the show for a couple of minutes after the first few songs for a fan who needed attention from security at the front of the gig, when he sang a short acapella version of You Are My Sunshine. (Image: Ellie Gosley) The first moment for a big singalong came during the second song Skin, and the giant (no pun intended) of a man was smiling and looked genuinely pleased at the thousands of people belting out the lyrics. At one point, the singer said: "It blows my mind that I get to do this to so many people" - which it seemed like was clearly true. I'm a dad and I've got about two dance moves." It seemed more effortlessly cool rather than dad-dancing from where I was stood. For me, the highlight of the night was All You Ever Wanted, when you could hear a pin drop as Rag 'n' Bone Man's epic but tender vocals rang out, echoing off the historic castle walls. There was also a huge cheer, encouraged by the man himself, for backing singer Desri, who sang Pink!'s portion of the song beautifully. As the night drew to a close, he returned clapping and bowing down to the crowd as he emerged for the encore, joking: "We have to do that obligatory thing where we pretend we're not coming back. I know we're coming back, you know we're coming back but we have to do it. It's the rules." Rag 'n' Bone Man then performed Put A Little Hurt On Me in another emotional moment of the night, with him dedicating the song to a young boy called Ethan, who he met through Children in Need, who was in the audience. The Cardiff audience quickly sprang into action to show their support by chanting his name. The night finished with a bouncing rendition of Giant, which it was clear everyone had been waiting for with the whole crowd dancing and jumping on their feet. The night finished with Rag 'n' Bone Man thanking the crowd before adding: "I knew you wouldn't let me down." His show wasn't showy, but it sure wasn't boring either. Colossal vocals achieved with ease, a great band, simple yet striking lighting and a genuine, humble man who seems truly happy and grateful to be there made for a great night all-in-all. Glastonbury headliner rocks out at Oasis gig despite Noel Gallagher beef
Noel and Liam Gallagher famously don't mince their words when giving their opinions on other singers, and they've made some pretty biting comments over the years. Oasis and Blur – who appeared at Glastonbury Festival this year in a surprise set – were the ultimate 1990s Britpop rivals. However, this competition sometimes got personal, especially when Noel famously told The Observer, 'I hate that Alex [James] and Damon [Albarn]. I hope they catch AIDS and die.' Noel later retracted his words and apologised. While Robbie and the Gallagher brothers enjoyed a short-lived friendship back in the day, their relationship soon soured after Noel called him 'the fat dancer from Take That' at the 2000 Brit Awards. What followed was a 25-year feud. In 2021, Robbie spoke about how 'unbearable' the feud was. 'Every time I watched TV programmes, there were people being hateful about me. That was just wrong and grotesque. It was unbearable. I just left the country,' Robbie told Talent Takes Practice. 'I remember every single syllable of every single thing they've ever said about me. 'Liam said that I should be hung, Noel said I was 'the fat dancer from Take That',' (not to mention Liam calling him a 'fat f**king idiot' in 2013. In a 2022 interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, Robbie reflected: 'They were gigantic bullies too, to the whole industry, everybody in it—and I didn't like that.' Liam admitted he was a 'p**-taker' but said he stopped short of hurting peoples' feelings. In a 2019 interview, Noel said of the rapper: 'He is one of those guys that goes into rehab and then they sing about it for the next 20 years. 'You did a bit of f***ing coke. You had a drink. Haven't we all'. [Claps hands]. Noel previously called out Eminem, real name Marshall Mathers, and fellow rapper 50 Cent, aka Curtis Jackson, in 2005, telling The Sun: 'I despise hip-hop. Loathe it. Eminem is an idiot and I find 50 Cent the most distasteful character I have ever crossed in my life.' And three years before that, Noel said: 'Eminem is a penis. He's just titillation for the middle classes. He's neither funny nor shocking nor outrageous.' In a 1996 interview, Beatle George Harrison told Q Magazine said Oasis' music 'lacks depth'. 'The singer, Liam, shouts instead of sings,' he said, adding: 'The rest of the band don't need him.' This must've hurt for the Gallagher brothers, who have long worshipped the Beatles as a core musical inspiration. While also acknowledging his love for the band and George, Liam soon retaliated in an MTV interview, saying: 'George was always the quiet one, and maybe he should have stayed that way. I love The Beatles, but what the f**k does he know about rock 'n' roll?' Liam also described him as a 'f***ing nipple'. 'I know all about him and that, but he's a bit of a miserable c**t as far as I'm concerned,' Liam told The Times in 2011 of the country icon. 'I like that tune he did, Lay Lady Lay. People go nuts for him, but he doesn't really do it for me.'

TV fans have just hours to binge ‘bonkers' drama before new season launches
One of the hottest entries into the 'it's terrible but I can't stop watching' 2023 category of TV drama was over on Channel 4. The first season of the frothy swingers drama The Couple Next Door was pretty panned by critics – with a 38% rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes – but viewers couldn't get enough. In fact, the season became Channel 4's biggest scripted streaming launch ever, with the first episode garnering more than a million streams in its first week. Starring Sam Heughan and Eleanor Tomlinson, the six-part run saw a young couple move to the 'burbs, only to become a bit overly friendly with their neighbours – with dire consequences. The second season turns the show into an anthology, with only an initial nod to the couples of the first season via a newspaper frontpage, before we meet a new foursome set to swap beds. The one mainstay, besides the Belgian filming location masking for outer Leeds, is Hugh Dennis's cul-de-sac creep Alan (although he's now somewhat reformed, doing community service). She's a heart surgeon, he's an anaesthetist. But when a new nurse Mia (Aggy K Adams) joins their hospital and then decides to rent the vacant house next door to them, their marriage is turned upside down. A complicated situation is worsened by the return of Charlotte's handsome and clearly-still-into-her ex Leo (Heroes' Sendhil Ramamurthy). Senior TV Reporter Rebecca Cook shares her take… If you enjoyed the first season of the swinging Leeds neighbours, you'll be happy to hear this is more of the same – and perhaps better. But if you were among the naysayers, probably best to look away now (it's not improved that considerably). They've done away with some of the yawnsome filler of last season (criminal conspiracy, the strains of local journalism albeit from someone who can afford a humongous house), instead focusing on the character drama with a side of kink. This erotic entanglement is a touch less silly than the last, largely because of one thing: Annabel Scholey. The Split star elevates what is quite soapy material because she's just very good at what she does. Even when it's shooting dangerous looks from under some scrubs. The mysterious Mia from Norway crashes into the couple's 'sex Wednesdays' routine for scenes that are, yes, still a bit overplayed. But if you're coming into this second season from the first, you already know what you're in for. Loosely adapted from the Dutch drama Fatal Injections, the first season was billed a cheesy erotic thriller. Duncan Whittaker wrote on Google reviews that he 'loved it,' adding: 'The ending was such a bonkers bit of fun.' More Trending Jo Austin added: 'It was all a bit daft but entertaining and enjoyable enough.' However, not everyone was completely on board with the season (hence the hate watch adjacent reputation) with Helen Johnson labelling it 'ridiculous!' before adding: 'I've only seen one episode but I laughed several times (and it's not a comedy!).' Not holding back, Dean Skutela added: 'One of the worst programmes I've ever watched. I kept praying for it to get better but it just kept getting worse.'
