The Next Grey's Anatomy? Netflix Sets Release Date for Medical Drama Pulse

Yahoo18-02-2025
It's the year of the medical procedural! Following the debuts of ABC's Doctor Odyssey, Fox's Doc, Max's The Pitt and CBS' Watson, Netflix will scrub in for rounds with Pulse on Thursday, April 3.
The 10-episode drama — which hails from executive producer Zoe Robyn (Hawaii Five-0, The Equalizer), who will serve as co-showrunner alongside fellow EP Carlton Cuse (Lost, Jack Ryan) — follows the staff of Miami's busiest Level 1 Trauma Center as they navigate medical emergencies. Per the official logline, as a hurricane comes barreling toward them, 'third-year resident Dr. Danny Simms (played by The Fall of the House of Usher's Willa Fitzgerald) is unexpectedly thrust into a promotion when beloved Chief Resident Dr. Xander Phillips (The Continental's Colin Woodell) is suspended.'

'Amid the worsening storm and an onslaught of trauma cases, the hospital goes into lockdown, and Danny and Phillips must find a way to work together — even as the bombshell details of a complicated and illicit romance between them begin to spill out,' the logline reveals. 'The rest of the ER is left to process the fallout of their relationship while balancing their own challenges, both personal and professional, as they work under the pressure of life-or-death stakes. Because for this tight-knit group of doctors, saving their patients' lives is often less complicated than living their own.' Hmm… anyone else already getting Grey's Anatomy vibes?
Rounding out the series-regular ensemble are Justina Machado (One Day at a Time, ER), Jack Bannon (Pennyworth), Jessie T. Usher (The Boys), Jessy Yates (Me), Chelsea Muirhead (Warrior) and Daniela Nieves (Vampire Academy).
Recurring cast members includes Néstor Carbonell (The Morning Show), Jessica Rothe (Utopia), Santiago Segura, Ash Santos (Mayor of Kingstown) and Arturo Del Puerto (For All Mankind).
Netflix has not yet released a trailer for Pulse Season 1 — but TVLine will post it here as soon as it is made available. In the meantime, sample a selection of first-look photos below, then hit the comments and tell us if you'll be adding to your Netflix watchlist come April.

Popular Netflix Show Teases Death of Fan Favorite Character in New Trailer

Popular Netflix Show Teases Death of Fan Favorite Character in New Trailer originally appeared on Parade. Death once more looms over Nevermore Academy in the Season 2 trailer for Netflix's popular show, Wednesday. But this time? It's really going to hit Wednesday–and fans–where it hurts. Wednesday Addams, played by Jenna Ortega, 22, returns to her beloved mystical boarding school, Nevermore Academy, in the newly released trailer for Season 2 of the popular Netflix show, Wednesday. 'How does it feel?' Wednesday's mother, Morticia Addams, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones, asks her daughter in the trailer (below) as she drops her off at school. 'Like returning to the scene of the crime,' Wednesday replies with Ortega's signature dry, ominous delivery. 'I already know where the bodies are buried.' There's one body she's not ready to bury, though. In the trailer, after escaping a swarm of fangirls who idolize her for her Season 1 heroism, Wednesday is greeted by her enemy-turned-best friend, werewolf Enid Sinclair, played by Emma Myers, 23, the bright, optimistic foil to Wednesday's signature doom and gloom. Enid is excited for a fun new year, but the trailer predicts something far darker, more mysterious, more… well, Wednesday. Wednesday's head snaps back, black tears trailing down her face as a psychic vision overcomes her. 'Enid dies and it's all my fault,' Wednesday tells her mother, her delivery somehow both dry and tight with emotion. Season 1 saw Wednesday save her friends and the school, but not without significant losses along the way. If the Season 2 trailer is any indication, Wednesday–and fans–are in for an even wilder ride this season. 'The sooner I get answers, the sooner I can save Enid… or die trying,' Wednesday says in voiceover, her cadence a unique blend of mystery and monotone that Ortega has perfected for the role. Fans will just have to wait and tune in to see if she succeeds. Wednesday Season 2 part 1 drops on Aug. 6, with part 2 following shortly after on Sept. 3. When does 'Sullivan's Crossing' come out on Netflix? Date, cast, more

Fans of "Virgin River" and former teenage heartthrob Chad Michael Murray are in for a treat as the first two seasons of the cozy romantic series "Sullivan's Crossing" arrives on Netflix. The Canadian romantic drama follows neurosurgeon Maggie Sullivan (Morgan Kohan) as her "seemingly perfect life in Boston is turned upside down" and she leaves the city and boyfriend Andrew (Allan Hawco) "to return to her childhood home of Sullivan's Crossing, a picturesque Nova Scotia campground owned by her estranged father, Sully Sullivan (Scott Patterson) whom she hasn't seen in years." While in Sullivan's Crossing, Maggie attempts to reconnect with her father and old friends as she spars with "the irritating, yet handsome mysterious stranger who has been helping her father around the campground," Cal Jones (Chad Michael Murray). "But coming home isn't easy and it brings up memories and feelings Maggie is not ready to face," CW says about the series. "Sullivan's Crossing" is based on the books by New York Times bestselling author Robyn Carr, whose other series "Virgin River" is a Netflix original. Filming for the series took place in Canada's picturesque province of Nova Scotia, according to Variety. Parade reported the show is primarily shot in the oceanside town of Halifax, on the country's east coast. Showrunner Roma Roth told the publication in 2022, prior to its premiere, that the location was a deliberate choice to "ensure the show would feel distinctive" from Carr's other adaptation "Virgin River," which is shot in Vancouver, British Columbia. "I decided to set it in Nova Scotia for Nova Scotia,' Roth told the publication. 'This meant diverging from the books slightly; however, having been born and raised in Canada it's always been a personal goal of mine to create and write a Canadian content show that would reach a global audience.' Carr's book, meanwhile, is set in the Rocky Mountains "at the crossroads of the Colorado and Continental Divide Trails," the book's website says. Is Virgin River real?
